The most informative transfer video I seen to date. Seriously I’ve seen a lot. I didn’t know it takes 25 days for Dixie belle paint to fully cure. I always burnish my transfers. But didn’t know Dixie belle carried a burnishing pad. Very nice. Burnish your paint!Awesome!! Love that! I got some slick stick to do some silver plate items. And I got prima transfers in a whitish rose patterns. And I was trying to decide on a neutral background. And wella! There’s your Video. Perfect timing. I can’t wait to watch more from you. You Rock!
Nice job on these two pieces. I used this transfer on my headboard and footboard of my bed. I do want to give you a tip on working on a curved piece, whenever I do this I use a folded hand towel to keep my pieces from rolling around.
Thank you! Any brand of chalky finish paint would probably work for this technique. If painting on metal or glass, look for a bonding primer made for this application; then apply the primer prior to painting. Acrylic craft paint may also work, but you would definitely need the bonding primer if using acrylic paint.
I haven’t tried painting metal with acrylic paints. I think it would work.If you use gesso for the base, I recommend lightly sanding the piece with 220 grit sandpaper then thoroughly cleaning and rinsing prior to painting. Also, if you use gesso I would recommend 2 coats.
I loved the silver pitcher as is.
Thank you for watching.
I have those magnolia transfers and couldn't figure out what to do with them - now I know! Thanks for sharing! 🥰
Thanks for watching! So glad I was able to offer some inspiration 😊!
