I have seen a few times people's ESC continually restarting because something happened with the servo where pretty much it was shorting out and making the ESC reset. Anyway I will check the ESC again now that you have a new servo in there. It may not be the case but definitely worth trying it out instead of throwing away an ESC that may be just fine. 👍. I'd still be running the stock servo if it didn't become a plastic turd after the first run. The fact that my ESC wouldn't perform a simple "throttle setup" correctly out of the box was concerning. My 8s Spectrum electronics have been flawless. Bad luck.... perhaps, but the stock 6s system became a big hassle and I just want to bash. Can only troubleshoot for so long.🍻😎💪👊👊
I had basically the same issue with the 150A esc from spektrum.. idk what it is but those 150 amp ESCs just don't wanna work. Mine lasted like 4 packs..
@@surfside75 I swapped the whole system over to a hobby wing max 6 with 1650kv motor. It seems to be a much more solid set up, it's a tank now. I like the max 6 combo a lot more than the stock system.

I think you're correct, however, I'm running the same servo with my Max8 ESC and it's working great 🤔. Failing servos are super frustrating. I've seen them cause crazy cuts in power with sudden bursts of throttle 😂. Basically chased my tail before replacing everything before realizing it was the servo. I didn't toss my Spectrum 150A. Perhaps I'll try it again with a fresh servo 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 yeah man I figured that out on accident. While esc was trying to initialize I just so happened to move servo/wheels by hand. When the servo was at it's endpoint the esc initialized 100 percent. Soon as I moved servo / wheel the smallest amount the esc would reset.
Think I was running 50/100/20k front to rear with the LSD set-up. My preference is running the open ARRMA EXB shim kit vs LSD. I run 500k center in the Kraton, and 200k center in the Talion. 🍻
Do you think your rewiring job somehow shorted the esc? I'd like to get rid of the loop on mine too, but after seeing what happened to yours, I think I'll leave it on.
Been cutting off the loop for years as it's unnecessary and just causes extra resistance if you run single 6s packs like many guys do 👍. Did the same with my 8s Spectrum 160A I've ran problem free for a year in my K6s EXB. Buddy at the hobby shop just had his 150A Firma go out on his Typhon 🤔. Maybe there was a faulty batch, I don't know. Regardless, done troubleshooting and just want to bash 🍻😎💪👊👊

Hey, I finally got myself the same car I've been dreaming about. Now I'm going to check the amount of oil from the diff, but how thick a diff oil would recommend to F, C, R
It's an old mod that involved a special spacer and running a different bearing configuration in the hubs to fit ARRMA axels and shafts in the Tekno. M2C Racing have since designed a direct fit hardened steel beefier option to replace the thin stock racing shafts. That's what I currently run 👍
I'd give Horizonhobby a call and get a new ESC. They replaced a Lasernut and Infraction ESC under warranty The warranty is great and using it creates a case so they can know what's not working. Great video as always!!!

I'm sure they'd send me a replacement ESC, but I feel different about stuff like this when I didn't pay for it and it's important to give straightforward feedback with both good and bad experiences. That's a Proline 1972 Chevy C-10 long bed. Fits like a glove 😍. It's a bit short for the Mojave chassis, hence the straight back cutout I did for the rear wheel wells. I'm actually very happy with the fitment. It's fast as heck with very little drag. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Michael 🤗. I'd run lighter oils like 30-35 weight and consider getting the Hot Racing ARRMA 8s shock caps. It converts the stock set-up to emulsion style 👌. I love the 6s dboots Backflips. They're my wheel of choice for the Kraton. Not a big fan of the Copperheads. Weight is about perfect for the platform. 🍻
Nice bash brother, how come you don't run a brace from top tower to tower , I learned it to do it from you , except I run 5/16 threaded rod through the aluminum stock where you would just notch it . I think the arrma one works good for regular bashing but not extreme because the tail end is vulnerable.
Thanks so much Paul 🤗. I pulled the T to T brace off my O6s EXB for weight savings and added central chassis flex 👍. Also want to see how the EXB chassis does without it. I ran homemade T to T braces for years before ARRMA made them standard. The difference being mine had a rubber bumper that allowed some give and flex. The solid fixed T to T brace leads to increased torque on the rear chassis brace/wingmount attachment point and causing reverse(downwards) chassis bends to the rear chassis with extreme bashing. That's exactly why I added the M2C rear tower support on my Orange Darling 😍. It stops the torque effect on the wingmount attachment caused by the T to T brace. Props to you for fabbing your own mod on yours 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Armando 🤗. I could jump WAY higher than I typically do with the right launch, speed, and setup. Truth be known, huge vertical hits are quite damaging to electronics among other things. You damage (or destroy) servos, ESC's, and kill the cells of your Lipo from harsh vertical hits. Guys who do them understand this fact. 🍻😎💪👊👊

The Talion is lighter and faster with very sharp handling and control. The Outcast has the stunting advantage and better ground clearance for rough bash spots. Both are fantastic platforms, just comes down to preference really. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I already bought the talion but I could switch it to the outcast on Friday when I go pick it up. I’m still debating. But I am leaning toward talion just cuz it’s kind of a rare beast.

The Tekno is silky smooth, but takes a LOT of upgrading to make a formidable, hardcore basher. Not a cheap way to go. Widebody chassis and full M2C bracing (plus alloy motor mount/center diff bits) are a must to protect the driveline and gears. The ramp set-up is a Blast Bro 😱🤣🤣. No plans to get the EXB Talion. My V3 M2C Talion is far stronger than any RTR and absolutely shreds 🥰. Can't touch a custom rig. The shorter O6s EXB chassis is holding well with proper flex and no T to T. Really appreciate it Brother. 🍻🤙🤙😎💪👊👊

@@LongHaulTrucker4Life either motor should absolutely Rip 👀. Just have to get the gearing paired nicely for the KV and final wheel section. The 800kv should work great on 1/1 gearing. I think 39/39 will work on the stock motor mount. The 1100 would probably run great with around 32/39 gearing. Saga Custom RC sells an assortment of mod 1 8mm bore pinions. 🍻
Maybe your slipper clutch isn't set right 🤔. It's possible the spring could be locked up in the assembly or you have a bad bearing. That's not normal to bust shafts easily. I'm running 4s with MX28's on mine and hardly ever break shafts. Hope you get it sorted. 😎💪👊👊

I have 2 brand new br3s btw. Found no spring on either under the adjustment screw over the roller washers. I ordered some. Should have them, yes?

The spectrum esc restarting is a cause from a bad servo. It has happened to me many times with my arrma rigs.
I think you're correct, however, I'm running the same servo with my Max8 ESC and it's working great 🤔. Failing servos are super frustrating. I've seen them cause crazy cuts in power with sudden bursts of throttle 😂. Basically chased my tail before replacing everything before realizing it was the servo. I didn't toss my Spectrum 150A. Perhaps I'll try it again with a fresh servo 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 yeah man I figured that out on accident. While esc was trying to initialize I just so happened to move servo/wheels by hand. When the servo was at it's endpoint the esc initialized 100 percent. Soon as I moved servo / wheel the smallest amount the esc would reset.
Hey Rich. What would you prefere as diff oil in the EXB diffs?
Think I was running 50/100/20k front to rear with the LSD set-up. My preference is running the open ARRMA EXB shim kit vs LSD. I run 500k center in the Kraton, and 200k center in the Talion. 🍻
Do you think your rewiring job somehow shorted the esc? I'd like to get rid of the loop on mine too, but after seeing what happened to yours, I think I'll leave it on.
Been cutting off the loop for years as it's unnecessary and just causes extra resistance if you run single 6s packs like many guys do 👍. Did the same with my 8s Spectrum 160A I've ran problem free for a year in my K6s EXB. Buddy at the hobby shop just had his 150A Firma go out on his Typhon 🤔. Maybe there was a faulty batch, I don't know. Regardless, done troubleshooting and just want to bash 🍻😎💪👊👊

What's the arrma mod for the drive shafts
It's an old mod that involved a special spacer and running a different bearing configuration in the hubs to fit ARRMA axels and shafts in the Tekno. M2C Racing have since designed a direct fit hardened steel beefier option to replace the thin stock racing shafts. That's what I currently run 👍
I'd give Horizonhobby a call and get a new ESC. They replaced a Lasernut and Infraction ESC under warranty The warranty is great and using it creates a case so they can know what's not working. Great video as always!!!

I'm sure they'd send me a replacement ESC, but I feel different about stuff like this when I didn't pay for it and it's important to give straightforward feedback with both good and bad experiences. What body is on the Orange Darling XL?
That's a Proline 1972 Chevy C-10 long bed. Fits like a glove 😍. It's a bit short for the Mojave chassis, hence the straight back cutout I did for the rear wheel wells. I'm actually very happy with the fitment. It's fast as heck with very little drag. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Michael 🤗. I'd run lighter oils like 30-35 weight and consider getting the Hot Racing ARRMA 8s shock caps. It converts the stock set-up to emulsion style 👌. I love the 6s dboots Backflips. They're my wheel of choice for the Kraton. Not a big fan of the Copperheads. Weight is about perfect for the platform. 🍻

Nice bash brother, how come you don't run a brace from top tower to tower , I learned it to do it from you , except I run 5/16 threaded rod through the aluminum stock where you would just notch it . I think the arrma one works good for regular bashing but not extreme because the tail end is vulnerable.
Thanks so much Paul 🤗. I pulled the T to T brace off my O6s EXB for weight savings and added central chassis flex 👍. Also want to see how the EXB chassis does without it. I ran homemade T to T braces for years before ARRMA made them standard. The difference being mine had a rubber bumper that allowed some give and flex. The solid fixed T to T brace leads to increased torque on the rear chassis brace/wingmount attachment point and causing reverse(downwards) chassis bends to the rear chassis with extreme bashing. That's exactly why I added the M2C rear tower support on my Orange Darling 😍. It stops the torque effect on the wingmount attachment caused by the T to T brace. Props to you for fabbing your own mod on yours 🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Armando 🤗. I could jump WAY higher than I typically do with the right launch, speed, and setup. Truth be known, huge vertical hits are quite damaging to electronics among other things. You damage (or destroy) servos, ESC's, and kill the cells of your Lipo from harsh vertical hits. Guys who do them understand this fact. 🍻😎💪👊👊

The Talion is lighter and faster with very sharp handling and control. The Outcast has the stunting advantage and better ground clearance for rough bash spots. Both are fantastic platforms, just comes down to preference really. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I already bought the talion but I could switch it to the outcast on Friday when I go pick it up. I’m still debating. But I am leaning toward talion just cuz it’s kind of a rare beast.

The Tekno is silky smooth, but takes a LOT of upgrading to make a formidable, hardcore basher. Not a cheap way to go. Widebody chassis and full M2C bracing (plus alloy motor mount/center diff bits) are a must to protect the driveline and gears. The ramp set-up is a Blast Bro 😱🤣🤣. No plans to get the EXB Talion. My V3 M2C Talion is far stronger than any RTR and absolutely shreds 🥰. Can't touch a custom rig. The shorter O6s EXB chassis is holding well with proper flex and no T to T. Really appreciate it Brother. 🍻🤙🤙😎💪👊👊

@@LongHaulTrucker4Life either motor should absolutely Rip 👀. Just have to get the gearing paired nicely for the KV and final wheel section. The 800kv should work great on 1/1 gearing. I think 39/39 will work on the stock motor mount. The 1100 would probably run great with around 32/39 gearing. Saga Custom RC sells an assortment of mod 1 8mm bore pinions. 🍻

Maybe your slipper clutch isn't set right 🤔. It's possible the spring could be locked up in the assembly or you have a bad bearing. That's not normal to bust shafts easily. I'm running 4s with MX28's on mine and hardly ever break shafts. Hope you get it sorted. 😎💪👊👊

I have 2 brand new br3s btw. Found no spring on either under the adjustment screw over the roller washers. I ordered some. Should have them, yes?
