at current pricing for decent launch monitors +subscriptions golf will not be changed ;}
I cannot believe they’re using their Skytraks in lessons. SkyTrak is considered an at home toy in launch monitor technology. I’ve owned the OG SkyTrak, mevo+, eye mini, bushnell launch pro, SkyTrak+, and my current gcquad. Besides mevo, SkyTrak is the least accurate. On club data, it is the least accurate of them all. It don’t actually measure all its club data. Some data is calculated and it shows.
It’s amazing for home use. But not for professional use. Golftec is an absolute joke for using a SkyTrak. Skip Golftec and go get fit club champion, or lessons with a good pga pro. Golftek is the dicks sporting goods of golf lessons.
Mmmm I took lessons 15 MONTHs ago, still while they were using foresight I think. I wonder how it goes now with skytrak +
Has the average golfers handicap reduced massively with new technology in the last 10 20 years. Answer that question.
People who take lessons generally improve yes.
They improve
Handicap
Knowledge
Their enjoyment of the game
People who dont take lessons both improve and do not improve.
More people do NOT take lessons than do.
So the average golfers tends to age and with aging that often brings worse scores.
This obviously barely scrapes the surface to answer yo Your complex question.
Defining improvement is also part of this great question. Many golfers do not want to reduce their index because they play for exercise/social interaction and fun.
I'm deeply suspicious that much of the golf tech is like modern medicine; it treats the illnesses, not the underlying cause.
I have never used a launch monitor that accurately reflects what I see on the golf course. Whenever I have used a Trackman on a driving range it has never been accurate.
I fear that the golf industry is building on shaky foundations, assuming, or perhaps pretending the measurement devices are accurate. Of course, it helps sales so nobody is going to rock the boat, are they?
Wow really? Ive used several launch monitors and feel they are extremely accurate and have helped me see and understand things about my swing I couldn’t grasp before. My distance has gone up even though I’m in my 60’s and handicap has come down with similar rounds of golf per year. If you’ve been to a PGA event you’ll also notice most of the pros use them to warm up and practice with even though they are’t endorsing them. They aren’t perfect and you can go down rabbit holes trying to get perfect angles and become to robotic but if you have a coach and use them correctly they can be immensely helpful.
Booo to the “wagering” part. That could just take over their entire development focus!!!! Please!🙏
That would depend where you are in your development cycle…if your roadblock to success is not being able to play under pressure, this could help with that aspect of it. There is more to development than just straight forward data and numbers…need to find ways to exercise the mind aspect of it…
@@petegalindez9961 Good one. I'm trying looking out for society here. We don't need SkyTrak to profit from gambling.
Just watched this again fro second - I suggest they add crowd noise and cheering - except no "kin"....Mashed potato!!!! 🤪
Fun vid Mark.
Would that software be able to pick up on someone with Lou's dimensions?😮
Haha
According to my mate, he hits his driver 300 yards... too bad 200 of those are straight into the woods.
Let's get GolfTec over to the UK ASAP please... preferably one down near Portsmouth 😂
Liked, subbed, shared, signed up for the newsletter. Now gimme that SkyTrak! 🤪
Loving this channel. I started golfing about a month ago and his tips have helped clean up my swing… trust me, I’ve got a lot of cleaning up to do. I live about an hour from any decent sized city so golftec is 60 miles away… I want to check it out. I have plans to make a garage sim build… I’m cramped on space and $ so I am doing it low cost by using a net and not a screen. Skytrak+ is what I decided with the sim, but because of the expense it is phase two of my build… phase one is the net and hitting mat so I can at least get started swinging in the cold months here in NW Ohio. Thanks for your show Mark!
Crossfield will be shilling this soon, and trying to convince everyone to part with £10k to buy one. Dreadful baldy shill.
I bet you were like a kid in a candy shop seeing that. Loving the Optimotion and the way its going. Next? Maybe the software could suggest drills to assist the golfer and his or her swing? A bit like the Hackmotion software. And the SkyTrak... dare I say it? Is it becoming better than Trackman? Especially with the ability to create custom ranges... Game changer!!
Another fantastic video. Would love the help of a skytrak plus simulator. keep the good vibes coming
It's a great technology and will be a great tool for understanding and improving your golf. Still interesting to follow Mark
Mark, the range builder looks pretty good but I’ve heard you can achieve the same with ropes, pulleys and tape. ;-)
I subscribed, liked vid, shared and signed up for newsletter can’t wait to win the Skytrack. 😂 I never win these things but hey maybe someday.
Great video, I am looking to get a launch monitor. Unfortunately Skytrak is out side of my budget. Would love to have a GolfTech in my area.
Is the Opti-motion planned on coming to personal Skytrak+'s or is this @ Golftec only software?
Hopefully they end up somewhere near me. Australia is understandably not a top priority. I don't know of anywhere that I can get a lesson on GC Quad.
The possibilities look amazing. However, the one thing that concerned me was when the owner mentioned they were considering adding "Wagers" to the system. No, no, please keep gambling out of golf tech, it might potentially be a money spinner for the company, but could be very damaging.
Mark I’d love to know how SkyTrak works out their shot optimizer, especially with so many different lofts for the same iron. Be interested to know if they just base it off of a standard loft or if they are taking everything like launch, speeds, and spin to make the optimizer red, yellow, or green.
Still love watching your stuff and listening to the podcast.
Very cool analysis without the suit….but how would they compare using a chipper to a tour player though…should have thrown that bad boy in?! Like, shared and already subscribed.
Hey Mark another great video. Will these things be included within skytrack or will they be expensive add ons?
A great video
I’m a fan of your channel & podcast
I remember the pod where you were taking about skillest and how it can serve this purpose
I’ve given up on 2 skillest coaches and went for in-person lessons
The skillest coaches didn’t identify I needed more foot flair, a pre shot routine, better head position, more shoulder tilt and new grip
How can people get the best from online? Or have I been extremely unlucky?
Amazing video and as so eone returning to golf after an incredibly long period of time, the golf tech that is available nowadays is mind blowing. Seriously considering getting a launch monitor as getting to the range/course multiple tines a week is hard to do and hard on the wallet. Definitely need something like the skytrack to get my 10,000 hrs in! 😂
Smith George Thomas Anna Walker Timothy
The only issue I would have is the surface your hitting off. There is no substitute for actual grass. Astro turf can be misleading when it comes to strike and feel. However if outdoors isn't available this system is ahead of the curve.
Mark, I am assuming this is a fairly long shot, but was there any indication whether the OptiMotion software might at some point be released to the public (at a cost i'm sure) or even to PGA pros to used in coaching?
Pretty impressive, the customisable range is a great idea but I assume there will be features you can change as opposed to create your own. If it has as much detail as GEARS, it must be quite a threat. But GEARS isn't an average pro type product whereas I assume that is where this is being aimed.
My lessons at GolfTec was no where near this good. They had a launch monitor but didn't collect club data. They basically taught me the exactly same way as I would have gotten at a range with no tech. It was very disappointing.
Subscribed to the news later and all entered! I’m going to cross my fingers that I finally win a giveaway because out of any giveaway ever done this is the practice tool I want the most because I would you it constantly! Cheers mate and I hope you pick me!!
Mark where do you see the tech becoming a big factor? in home studios or in professional centers like Golftec?
Hopefully they make it down to Aus soon, looks impressive
Measurement is first step to acceptance and then change.
I have not found this tech in Australia. Hopefully it's here
HI Mark, love the opti- motion do you know if this is some thing there are looking at for the home user, I'm currently looking at setting up a home simulator, and the sky track plus and the Mevo are in the same price range, but if you could get the opti- motion as a home version, this would have the best improvement product on the market and for home, for home you don't need the club fitting, there is a product called K Vest which shows body movement and give you two options pro use and single user, i would think that the first company to combine a launch monitor with something like opti-motion will rise to the top
Living in Canada I do have access to Golftek. Might be worth a little trip to see them. They can use the data to help me but truthfully it would be better if I did not know the numbers and just focus on the swing as the coachs instruct me.
Awesome Video and tech. How do they accommodate lefties? and how easy is it to flip from righty session to immediate lefty session? cheers
Would move my game forward but more importantly my two grandsons as well
Working my way back from broken femur. Golf monitor would let me practice for a while until I get more mobil.
Planning on building a sim this year with a skytrack.
Very informative. Thanks
I’ve been looking at this brand for a few years. Love the review.
Amazing tech, would love to try it.
Good stuff. Thank you for the video. Do they use any force plates?
Just got a second hand mat and net to practice but missing the final piece of the jigsaw of launch monitor.
Entered and would love one for a sim set up on my garage ❤, nice review mark.
Great stuff, I hope they sponsor you and give you a sim 😬
Great videos, me and my son have been eyeing the sky trak, would love to win one haha.
Would love the Skytrak plus!
Interesting report. I hope it finds adoption in the Philippines.
The pink castle tee says I must win the launch monitor, yes please thank you
Really glad to see the focus on software here, lot of great things to build on with this platform.
what are you doing in Colorado!!!!???
Would love to get my hands on one to improve my golf game!
This is so awesome. This has the capacity to move the benchmark in launch monitors👌🏻
Can you clarify… is the Optimotion tech coming to the current SkyTrak launch monitors? Is that a future software update? Or does that require different hardware? Thanks!
Very different hardware. It’s in GolfTec at the moment. But never say never.
I've taken GolfTec lessons and used their practice time prior to their acquisition of Skytrac. Pretty solid but pricy
Yeah, same here. JuN2023, they still had the foresight gear I think, I wonder how it fares now with skytrak ±
What course or range was that with the islands
This is incredible .. how do we get this??
All competition admin done 🤞⛳️
Do you think it’s important for Skytrak to add swing arc “Low Point” or at least “Angle of Attack” like most lms have?
I was just going to say... It should offer angle-droit of. Attack
Great tech, would love to have a lesson there
I’ll take one please thank you
Very interested, please add my entry.
Awesome giveaway! 🎉
Need a golftec in uk
'You need an ego button' 😂😂😂
Infomercial
Not sure what the breakthrough is... everyone does this. Trackman, Uneekor, etc all have AI swing analysis that you can download to your computer with their launch monitors as opposed to having to go into a Golftek and use a SkyTrak.
Ummmm?????? What
@@MarkCrossfield I tried to post a link but I think they get deleted. Google Uneekor AI Trainer or Trackman AI motion analysis. Saw them both at PGA show last year
Luv this video
Great timing on this video, I was just starting to do some deep dives in at-home sim solutions. Cheers!
I did a deep dive here. 👍 ua-cam.com/video/-O9p1CFkaWA/v-deo.htmlsi=Xyqa-WrZOOAzipad
Very cool tech.
Love the content
Incredible
Mark, so glad you're leading the UA-cam golf community in seeking out these tech advances. Just crazy how the tech has just moved forward so quickly.
Long time viewer. First time commenter. Will pm you my shipping address for the the skytrak plus.
👌🏼
Really enjoyed this!! 👏 Definitely would be good subject for “hack it out “
Hope I win!
Awesome video Mark! Love SkyTrak Plus, hard to beat for the money!
Good luck !
Great vid. Have been researching golf simulator. This SkyTrack looks to have everything I need. Bring on SkyTrack in Australia.
Would love to win the Skytrak+, started again after a 17 year break (although golfing from the age of 7 till 10 isn't really noteworthy I guess).
Currently 4 months in and playing around HCP 18 to 20. With the winter coming up, I'm about to do to some renovation on the garage and want to include a golf simulator in there as well!
Next to that, I haven't been able to find a place around the Netherlands where they offer such a sophisticated way of training...
Thanks for all the great content so far which really helped me getting up to speed!
Very interesting! Golf tech is moving fast. Would love a launch monitor. One day!
Another great video. Thanks for the window into GC's forthcoming changes. Who wouldn't like a ST+
Would be a dream to win. Enjoyed the video mark hopefully golftec come to the UK soon.
Amazing interesting video and looks revolutionary ⛳⛳
Endless
Tried getting a re-fit of irons I’ve had since 2011. Golftec Appleton Wisconsin won’t refit any previously owned clubs of any kind, only selling new stuff. They tried telling me once they are fit they won’t change. Anyone serious in the golf industry should understand that if I got irons fit at 21 yrs old and I’m 34 now, there’s a high probability something has changed. They cannot be taken seriously with equipment if that’s their approach
All their other stuff and tech is super informative and useful and I can imagine lessons would be rewarding
Thanks!
Great introduction to a fantastic way to improve your game
It’s so smart
I’ve been using GOLFTEC for about a year and have generally been very happy with it, for many of the reasons you outlined. But the one thing I’ve been unhappy with is the Skytrak system. They were using GC2’s when I started and the Skytrak monitors seem to suffer from a lot of missed shots and bizarre outputs, like I can see where the ball hit the screen and it shows the ball going a completely different direction. Not confidence inspiring. The software is great but the Skytrak needs some work. At least at the place I go, they’re using a GC Quad in the bay they use for fittings.
Wow 🤩 just blew my mind with the technology from Skytrak. “Chance to win one!” Yes please 🙏!🤘🏻🤘🏻🇦🇺
Had a skytrak for years. Upgraded to Bushnell Launch Pro. BLP is better for practice and numbers, Skytrak is better for fun by a million miles with TGC incorporation.
I played quit golf and now play pickleball, slalom ski, snow ski and surf.
Love watching your videos, always learning something new.
The future is here! I would love love love that Skytrak. Newsletter subscriber and Gregulator!
Mark, I have been a fan for years. I am looking at the Skytrak+ and Bushnell Launch Pro. BTW, have you ever thought of doing a reunion video with Lockey & Hendriksen? I enjoyed your matches and interactions.
Mark, It is remarkable as you say however, I maybe able to "see" what I am doing / doing wrong but a coach tells you why and, critically, how to correct it. What say you?? Great video BTW
