I think barrels are actually pretty good. But serious quality control with the other components. The only two I didn't have issues with was a 350 Legend and 350 Legend Barrel I bought.

I would watch a few more videos and read some forums. Most products seem to work well. I have an upper I haven’t shot yet. But from everything I’ve read it seems stuff that goes wrong they will fix. More importantly for how much money you save you can afford to upgrade most of the crappy parts. I think the thing is your getting what you paid for. The only way they can sell stuff that cheap is because of all the volume and soft QC. I’m low income so I bought what I could afford. Ultimately the fact you can get an AR for $400-600 is really kinda amazing.

If you are still looking to build that AR10 in 22-250, get the upper from PSA (palmetto state armory) and the barrel from BHW (black hole weaponry, a division of Columbia Arms). Good luck and stay safe!!! 😉😉😉

I find a semi auto in a 300WM in an AR type package sounds very interesting but I will wait to read the reviews. If it functions like my 450 BM upper from them does, it isn't worth my money.

One of the still pictures you show are of my primer problems (Hornady Superformance). I solved that issue with a new BCG and adjustable gas block from Aero, it now runs those fine and I reload 55gr bullets which run great in my 22-250 and very accurate. In my case the bolt and carrier had several out of spec measurements and was a total piece of crap.

Primers getting pushed out is a sign of low pressure.
The case does not expand in the bore. Normaly the primer moves out and then get "sqeezed" in again when the case grows. Or it happens at the same time.
But low pressure push the primer out. you can confirm this by measuring headspace on the case, it should not have grown.
Fun fact, if you measure your headspace on the primer (that is pushed out) it should be almost identical to a "full load" case, that has a flat or proper primer.

I bought a couple of their 243’s. First one was awesome. Second purchase of the lighter 20” version had a ruff cut barrel and intern poor accuracy. It took almost a year to get a replacement back. They told me they were waiting for tooling then they told me they were never gonna make another 243 chambering again. I finally got one from them and happy to see it shoots lights out. I was told they had three or four of them but none of them passed the MOA guarantee that was offered at the time so they wouldn’t send them to me. I told him I would rather take my chance and figure it out on my own because I can’t replace a 243 upper for the price I bought it for which was under 300 bucks. I figured worst case scenario I would sell it and double my price at the time because that’s one panic buying was going on. They also told me that they tested it with full metal jacket hand loads with a random load. lol…. I got that replacement upper from them and took it out to test with a dozen of the tightest grouping handloads from the last upper that I sent back. Every one of the load shot sub MOA except for one which was probably my fault. Tightest group all touched at .3” at 100 yards. Never had any problems with cycling or blown primers with either or any of them so I would assume it’s a 22-250 build issue on their end. Sound like to me a head spacing issue with the backed out primers.

I have a BCA 6.5 Creedmoor gen 1 side charger. Bolt handle was sticking out of box and bent. Pierced primers from too long tip on firing pin. Any factory ammo with more than 120 g bullets would not chamber. Practically no freebore in rifling. Had to open up the throat with a PTG throat reamer. And finally the charging handle will not stay tight. Also the bottom of the gas block was riding on the inside of the handguard.

I stumbled on your video. I've got a similar story with one of their AR10 308 uppers. Sad it's not a unique incident. I have other uppers from them, but for all the uppers I've ever bought, it's been the biggest pain point for me.

Same company, different cal. I purchased a 16 inch 450BM upper from them. It failed to cycle with Hornady factory ammo. I sent it back and within a few weeks it was returned with a note saying that it functioned. I had the same issue that I had when I sent it in. I plan to drill out the gas port and pace an adjustable gas block on it...but I'm also considering purchasing an 18 inch barrel from another MFGR and, again, using an adjustable gas block. I'm very disappointed in that company and I have no plans to give them more of my money unless I see that they have upped their game. Disclaimer: Many report good things about their rifles/uppers, but there are a lot of people, like me, who are disappointed with their products.

@@OutdoorEDventures I posted a link to the remains of the upper receiver. Note that that beat the bottom down to try and get the bolt back so I can save the barrel. Also there are some cuts from the Dremel tool I used.
When it first happened it was barely bulged but was locked up. It did blow the mag out of the gun and blew the bottom out of it. It looks worse now than it did at the range. I was using factory 77grain Winchester that I had used in my other guns without issues, literally the same box. The gun would shoot standard 55grains fine but really seemed like more BCG travel than normal it also would grab the next round and smash it more often than not. I contacted BCA and got the run around posted a review and it was taken down within a day or so. I tried the 77's because it was supposed to have great accuracy with that barrel according to the website. The first round kinda chambered a little slow but I didn't really think much of it, I already had written it off as POS. Fired the shot Wich felt a bit stout and jammed the empty half in and half out of the chamber. Cleared it and for whatever reason chambered the next round. Fired and there was a lot of extra smoke and bits of plastic on the bench. Not exactly sure what happened I decided to dissect the gun back home. Most of this could have been avoided if I had just sent it back initially but I was so angered by the woman on the phone I would rather have lost the money on the upper than deal with that company again. So I'm partially at fault. But I never thought it would blow up.

Mostly 2 reasons they sell: People don't know about their spotty QC problems and because they are cheap. I bought a 450BM upper because it was cheap enough that if it didn't;t function that I could personally address the issue if I sent it back for repair and then it had the same issue when it came back. It had the same issue when it was returned: it was under gassed. I'll drill out the gas port, use an adjustable gas block, hopefully to make it work and never buy from them again. I bought, I learned, I will spend my money elsewhere. Considering a new barrel...just because.
