I paid more for my RPR in .300wm. I doubt this Ar would be as accurate but I could do a lot with this rifle I can’t do with my RPR, like carry it and shoot or tactical it out. I would lighten it up first to get it as low as humanly possible.

Had a couple of marks on the buffer from when it was test fired from the factory. The upper receiver had burrs. So a little 800 grit sand paper took care of that. That's great and all but what's its accuracy compared to a bolt gun? That round is not feasible as a ' battle ' round not to mention the cost per round. Don't get me wrong I think it's great somebody did this and at a relatively affordable price speaking for myself I would rather see a 30-06 AR10 (?) that is reliable and affordable.
@MudLakeRanch Seen a few companies try a AR10 in 30-06, a combination of unreliability and cost or one of the other, I hold out hope. Hunting? Oh that's just adorable.
After break in what can I expect for accuracy out of the 7mm mag or 300 mag. Looking. For a rifle that can take elk and moose from distances around the 400 yards mark. I’d like to be able to stretch its legs with some long distance shooting too. Also what kinda recoil am I looking at, I’ve shot 7mm RUM and 300 mag bolt guns before along with rifles like the SFAR and FN-FAL.
I got a GL10 30-06 right over a month ago. Sent it back once because it would NEVER cycle all 5 rounds. Got it back and now you can not pull back the charging handle at all with 4-5 rounds in it. I have nothing good to say about this company.
@@JMJProductions-fh8vq even after this they gave me a new one and it still didn’t function correctly. I ended up just trading it for a bolt action rifle.
Lower parts kit, 5/8 X24 threaded barrel, Charging handle Latch, Buffer spring and gas block. BCG is not. The cam pin in the bcg is like a standard 308.
I wish they would have chamfered some of the receivers sharp edges. They are clearly building to a budget but I’d rather pay a few bucks more to have the 90° machined edges removed.
Would love to see someone measure the GL-10 up against a $5K+ Nemo Arms Omen. It doesn't have to be just as good, but maybe it is. Or lets see how close it gets.
Mine doesn’t. But I use mobile one grease on the bolt carrier. And I installed a Tubbs flat wire buffer spring. Never even tried the stock buffer spring.
Yes I like mine. Especially for the price. Hardly any play between upper and lower. Changed trigger. Trigger pins fit perfect in the lower. No wiggle. (So many entry level AR rifles are out of spec.) Pins shouldn’t just slip in. M-lok cuts in hand guard are also tight. The magpul rail literally snaps lightly in place. Literally no movement back and forth. Hand guard has no sharp edges. Now the upper receiver had sharp edges inside. And the blocks the take down pins slide through. Not much paint on the inside of the upper receiver. So six hundred grit sand paper. Didn’t take but a few minutes to knock the edges down. Stainless buffer spring and nickel plated buffer. Nitrided bolt carrier. Only thing I didn’t like was the firing pin is held in place by a roll pin you have to punch out. After I break it in I will be installing a POF roller cam pin. I use Mobile one synthetic grease on the bolt carrier. Oil burns off too fast. If I still lived up north. I would mix some oil in it to thin it out. But here in the south. It’s not a problem. I always shoot a hundred rounds to let the stock cam pin break in. So often you will see wear marks. That way I’m less likely to scuff up the new one. Took the muzzle break off to inspect the crown and to see the rifling. Looked great. I also prefer a break that doesn’t have holes on the bottom. Went with a LMT four chamber break. The charging handle itself is long. And only theirs will fit. But I did which out the latch to an extended latch from Strike Industries. Gun is test fired from the factory. I Noticed the buffer had three marks from the retaining pin hitting it. So I have a Galloway Precision off set pin on the way to fix that. I did notice the rear take down pin didn’t have that positive click when I pushed it all the way in. I thought it had a weak spring. Took it apart. The spring was fine. But when I tilted it back to have the plugger fall out. A small roll pin fell out. Yeah it’s the same size as a plugger. But it isn’t pointed on the end. I happen to have a spare. So all is good now. The charging handle latch roll pin was too long. It was digging into the receiver. So tapped it out just enough to use a dremal to grind it down a few thousands. I went through the whole rifle. And everything was tight. Had to go with a Luth PRS stock. Because I had to be able to move the cheek riser back to clear the extra long charging handle. Magazine is made out of thick aluminum. Feels heavy duty. After dreaming about other 300 Winchester Magnum AR rifles. This one is great because it is affordable. And I can upgrade it the way I want. Built a few LR308’s over the years. Yeah, FAIL! They went out of their way to make this rife design silly & this unreliable. 1. Idiotic single stack magazine (should have simply scaled up SR-25 magazines). 2. Lack of understanding of gas systems and powder characteristics of long action/magnum action ammo. The gas system should have been a Rifle Length + 3” at a minimum. 3. Silly BCG design. Should have elongated an AR-10 carrier and only made a custom bolt for the magnum bolt face with dual extractors. 4. It’s the 2020s. The trigger should have just been a Geiselle.
