That shelter is great, a lot better then some animals ( dogs ) have.. it does the job and keeps them out of the winds and what ever mother nature has to throw at them
So glad you are thinking of your animals and pets, I concur with others, adding straw will give extra warmth. Build up the sides and back so they are surrounded with straw 😊. Good job Jason 😊
That’s a decent build. Put a nice this bed of Straw in the back portion and they’ll be good. Avoid any fabrics; they retain moisture and cause them to be cold. Adding a 100w spot light in there and they’ll be fine. Important thing you did was create a windbreak. You did well.
Maybe try some green house panels for the roof to let light in. Lots of straw. I made an 8x8 walk in doghouse with electric water pails and heater. In Canada we get minus 30 to minus 46 C weather. My dogs have a large panel fenced yard attached to the dog house. I work 14hr days and need to know they can get warm. A box without a heater is called a freezer. Thank you for thinking of your animals.
Agreed about it being cold storage. I live in Northern Vermont and it gets -40 F a lot in winter. It may protect against the wind, but we use insulation and a regulated propane heater that we can monitor on our phones. We also use the heaters for our goats and chickens. It’s not fancy nor expensive. We are just more prepared for cold weather than most people in the mid states and south. I hope you all pull through and my thoughts are with you all.
So, the bird "wing" of the family likes the dogs' bed-and-breakfast, huh? Who wouldn't?! Makes sense to me. Cheers, and here's to cozy housing for everyone on the Someday spread (esp. when the Vortex comes spinnin' through).
Howdy 🤠 Jason Danielle and all the fur babies 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕 and farm animals 🐂🐄🐖🐐🐐🐐🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐦🐦🐦🐦🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 love you all awesome job on the enclosure for the fur babies that sure is sturdy
You should make the top ready for when its hot, with lots of air circulation inside, just put some plywood on top for now with plastic for the cold season, to keep them dry and away from the wind,
Hi Danielle and Jason. It's so nice to get 3 videos a day, thank you. Love what you did for the doggies. Go and enjoy your weekend, but please be safe. Love you both❤
Agreed, plenty of straw! Not hay. And it blocks the wind, not the cold. Dogs do get cold too. I had a cat that couldn't get in and was found frozen to death. 😢
Some straw or hay on the ground inside would make it more comfortable and they could snuggle up in it. Also May i suggest some wire mesh on the inside with plastic on the outside for some additional light and that way the dogs dont tare up the plastic. wood to frame it between the plywood and mesh makes it quite strong.
Danielle and Jason you care for your fur babies it really looks nice I love 💝 it and people don’t think you don’t care for them you care for all of your animals Danielle and Jason I really love 💝 this format of 3 videos a day I just can’t wait for the next video just know that you bring me so much happiness Danielle and Jason you work so hard and it shows I love 💝 you both so much and again thanks 🙏 for everything that you do for me and the rest of your subscribers you are FAMILY to me love 💝 from Ohio Irene Louise Kangas Poling god bless safe travels to mom and dads I love 💝 💝💝💝💝💝💝🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘😘😘😘😘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️🤍🩵❤️🤍🩵❤️🤍🩵🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅 💝 my Oklahoma and Texas Family
It'll help if the wind blows alot, but dogs can actually overheat in a structure because of their ability to stay warm in frigid temps. It's a great idea, but I believe the original house you built for them would've been plenty. Love ya'll ❤️
I think that looks great and it gives them more room. If it's just temporary, I say just take the hinges off the other door instead of spending money on new ones. You guys are so good to your animals. ❤
They are in there at night so I don't think they àre going to be seeing much in the dark anyway. ALL of the dogs will be safe. Jason is doing what he can to protect them.
Hello from southeast Missouri I need your HELP Yes I know the ice storm is supposed to be hitting us I think Sunday morning and I don’t expect to redeem it right now but I want your opinion what would be the best solar power generator for me to get to run like a space heater and maybe refrigerator And of course my coffee pot for in the future what size and brand reasonably priced that I should get I must add I live in apartment but I want to be more prepared for next time thank you in advance for your help I enjoy watching your videos stay safe and have a blessed day
good job, but need to enclose the actual bed area, not just the bigger outer area... that big area is too big to stay warm even if the wind is blocked.... need to add plywood to the front of the actual bed area...and add lots of straw and beds/blankets on top of the straw, bring the slatted gate to the outside so they can at least see out
@@teret6719 there are many ways... it's all in how you make their "nest", and what you make it out of...the winter bedding houses we made had internal boxes that were elevated off the ground with a camping pad in the bottom, deep straw and a thick fleece blanket... any included blanket must not be cotton or of any absorbent material and must be kept clean and dry... of course if it gets wet and frozen it's not going to work, you can't just make it and leave it, you have to regularly maintain it, we had several dedicated fleece blankets that we cleaned and rotated every other day or 2, everything stayed clean, dry and warm. and you can add a heat lamp or better are those new heat panels(to reduce fire risk) on the ceiling when it gets real cold
Great job the dogs will love that you did this for them. Thank you for sharing till next time God Bless you all.
This is how you know people care about their animals. Keep up the good job Jason.
I love how you just build things so quickly and as needed. It amazes me how you can just pop up a structure! Keep warm! ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the Valley Girl style of talking.
That shelter is great, a lot better then some animals ( dogs ) have.. it does the job and keeps them out of the winds and what ever mother nature has to throw at them
Good job. I love that your thinking about the dogs. They need the warmth as well
If he didn’t do something for the dogs/animals yall would complain about that too.Geez give him a break! He’s trying to keep them safe and warm!
Great job on keeping all the animals warm and safe from what’s coming your way!!! I hope u guys weather thru it good too!!!

love it. The dogs said to tell you Thank You 😂 😂
Good Job. Straw will help keep them warm too.😊
Nice addition on the dog house .
Good Dogs!

Great job!
Awesome job Jason a good way to keep the dogs warm are you putting hay down on the ground the ground does get cold
Looks good man that should help keep them warm God Bless from your Canadian Friend.
You guys are my favorite couple on youtube 👍
Jason I think that is a great thing to do for the dogs. By the way it’s not plywood it’s called OSB oriented, strand-board
You should make the top ready for when its hot, with lots of air circulation inside, just put some plywood on top for now with plastic for the cold season, to keep them dry and away from the wind,
I don't know if electricity is near by, but u may want to add a heat lamp
Hi Danielle and Jason. It's so nice to get 3 videos a day, thank you. Love what you did for the doggies. Go and enjoy your weekend, but please be safe. Love you both❤
You need to put in some more straw to keep them warm overnight
Grab some horse stall shavings to throw down as the floor - they are cheap and warm. Two bags ought to fill it.
Agreed, plenty of straw! Not hay. And it blocks the wind, not the cold. Dogs do get cold too. I had a cat that couldn't get in and was found frozen to death. 😢
What happened to the dog houses? They were nice. Great job on your new creation. You always taje great care of your animals
Put some nice warm straw in there for insulation, they'll like that😁
Hi Jason how you doing hi Danielle what's happening girl everything okay good luck there are some proud of you guys keep up the good work

Great idea its all about blocking the cold the dogs will be greatful. Well done ❤❤👍👍🇦🇺😍😍🇦🇺🇦🇺
You are a classic Jason, "The beauty of cheap plywood is it ain't heavy"
OMG You're gonna have chicken dogs 👻 👽 👻 (n you got an employee of the week nomination just for the thought of closin in the pen. Kudos)
Those 6x6’s you took off the grain bin porch would make an awesome work bench in your new work shop
Jason you should put a rubber flap instead of door. ❤😊❤
He needs to lock them in. If he puts a rubber flap they'll just come out. Especially Packer.
I'm so glad you guys put this video out today, I was worried about the dogs during the cold snap. love you guys so much
How you gonna crawl in to open that door for them? And it’s in the dark even with that little slot.
Good job but don't forget to put lot's of straw for the fur babies ❤ till the next one ❤ stay safe warm and God bless you always 🥰☺️🥰☺️🥰☺️🙏

i have a idea you could stack straw/hay bales around the inside of the pen against the walls for extra insulation =D
🥰🥰🥰
Nice build.
Good job on the dig area. Will you be putting hay on the ground in the new area or not?
That freaking looks awesome brother but take Danielle's idea about the door since you really don't need it
He may listen to her
Do a sliding door. Use your table saw for cutting the sliding door track. I did them on my chicken house
Good work keep it going your way mate ✌️✌️✌️
Oversize you door a little & pound a couple T-posts & slide the door in place?
You had a broken strap...... you could put a couple of pieces of that on for the hinges.
What a good idea for your babies......hugs
I put a light in with my dogs on cold nights
ya gonna add sum straw ??
❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
Jason, you cease to amaze me! Your carpent skills are amazing! Great videoing, Danielle!
❤❤Make sure to put some hay. For them so they can snuggle down in ❤❤
Set up off ground 4-6 inches
It'll help if the wind blows alot, but dogs can actually overheat in a structure because of their ability to stay warm in frigid temps. It's a great idea, but I believe the original house you built for them would've been plenty. Love ya'll ❤️
Looks good 👍
❤
Hello 👋🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great idea great looking dog for winter.
I see building wind block
Solar rope light would work inside the house
LED doesn't put off heat. Straw does. Hay doesn't.
Take door off the inside and move to outer. Youll hate going insulide to unlock the door. Put straw inside
Put some straw on the floor!!
I think that looks great and it gives them more room. If it's just temporary, I say just take the hinges off the other door instead of spending money on new ones. You guys are so good to your animals. ❤
Metal small gate
Those that say your ''Not good to your Animals'' Must have vision problems. Skillfully done Jason.
I don’t know the answer to this but is it ok for dogs to sleep on frozen grounds or below freezing temps?
Were those 3 turkeys walking in the back left? ua-cam.com/video/shAyx5ZBqD0/v-deo.html
👍
those dogs will really love you for what you have done to keep them warm, i know i would well done jason🤠
Dogs don't like it when they can't see out it's like being in solitary confinement. They need to see what's going on
They are in there at night so I don't think they àre going to be seeing much in the dark anyway. ALL of the dogs will be safe. Jason is doing what he can to protect them.
🙂😃😄😁😆😊😉🫠🙃🙂
Plywood? Looks more like MDF…. (Could be wrong)
Awesome job Jason 👏
i see danielle is having a baby , any women can tell that just by looking at her.
Paint it
Why not put the dog houses at one end with some straw in them
Jason. Please rethink your design on the dog house. They have no light at all, and sun light helps to warm up everything.
Are you going to put some tape over the seams of the plywood just in case it rains😂

Foam board installation

No beds or blankets. Dogs will freeze trying to sleep on frozen cloth.

Big. Mistake Dogs need to see what is going on. What are you thinking. Dogs can stand some cold
Especially when they sleep in a pile to stay warm.
What do they need to see at night? They just go in there to sleep
