Haven't watched you for some time now but I guess I got to see a "best moment " for you and your family. I hope you had a Merry Christmas spending time in the new home. I lost my wife on December 17th and this has been a bad time. I did make it to Arizona and put our winter home on the market. I just can't be there without my wife. So I'm staying at our home in Colorado Springs because this is where our son and his family live. Three boys and one girl are the best grandchildren in the world. They know the pain grandpa's going through and are doing their best to help me. The oldest is now fifteen and the youngest is two. Enjoy your family and make time for them every day.

Research, phone calls, collecting supplies, just because you are not swinging a tool does not mean that you are not progressing. I had a full hip replacement less than a week ago. You were one of the women I thought of that were brave and fierce. We push ourselves, we accept help, we rest, we regroup, we get up again and again. I'll start with Happy Birthday Craig! He has to be the best friend in the world, besides all of my best friends. Hahahaha. Biata, once again I am so proud of you in fixing a mistake. You fixed one problem, but it caused another problem which you fixed right away. Most of the so-called professionals That I work with daily would cause the new problem and ignore it saying that it was someone else's job to fix. I am lucky if they even tell me about it so I can make sure it gets fixed. The shot of your house in the dusk with the lights on inside was beautiful. I have followed along on your whole journey so far and I have to admit that I was a little emotional to see your family spending time inside your warm masterpiece. Great job.

Such a well deserved break,now back to the Grind..It took awhile to get everything warmed up,but once the home is warm the concrete will help hold that ambient temperature ,which will mean less fuel usage to heat the home,now the finishing trades ,plumbing, cabinets, an of course drywall, tile ..let's not forget cover plates,an fixtures that will be shortly coming in the finals...Again you've kick but God Bless..C ya soon!

Just stumbled on your channel. What a wonderful build you've got going. You should be very proud!!! Here's a thought for future reference. When working overhead or cutting in painted corners at ceiling level. Get a couple 2x10 or 2x12 planks. 8, 10 or 12 feet long. Round up a mess of 5-gallon buckets. Turn the buckets upside down and use them as a base for your planks. If you need a bit more height, stack the buckets inside each other. Every bucket adds about 3 to 4 inches in height. With a couple planks you can walk from one end of a room to the other. Easier to move than a step ladder and quite stable. Thank you for your time. Be safe through the finishing process!
Insulation makes such a massive difference! You are going to be squealing with delight when you start putting up the drywall and getting all the wiring plugs done! Happy New Year

Hello Biata, I work at 3M and we do manufacture a Daylight Redirecting Film which could help project the light even further into your home. So instead of the light coming in and hitting the floor, it redirects the light upward giving you more natural light.... Future food for thought!
I'm in about the same stage of building of my a-frame in northern Maine, and one thing I did recently that made such a big difference in the house is sound proofing Batts between walls. I highly recommend it while you have the walls open!
