GORILLA KIANGO HAS FOUND A LOVELY FOSTER MOM IN NEMSI
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- It was a bittersweet visit. It became very real Gyasi isn't there anymore. But her offspring, Kiango has found a wonderful foster mom in Nemsi. He sleeps with her, she carries him around and makes sure he's doing fine. Although it wasn't the best weather, I was happy to have seen them. They're all doing so well luckily. It was a very rainy and cold day after two very hot days in Holland. The gorilla's didn't show up on the feeding place, where I normally film them because it was pouring down. But luckily I had a beautiful early morning with them and I was luckily able to film them on another side of the island.

I am so relieved that little Kiango has a new mommy. Nemsi stepped up to be loving parent to this little guy. Great news !
Nemsi looks very pleased with her new found motherhood ....wonderful.
Nemsi has always loved the little guy.
I just started crying when I saw Kiango. So tragic. And then I cried again when I saw Bao Bao. Haven’t cried like that for a very long time.
I still cry over it! I don’t know why this hit me so hard! Even when my little girl Saam in Texas lost her mama Hope and her dad I dealt with it better! I guess I really loved Gyassi and her daughter Tayari, who I follow faithfully. I know has time goes by it will get easier. Thanks for this wonderful video!
Thanks Liekes for this precious film of Kiango and his family. Nemsi is so great and thanks Nemsi for caring Kiango very well. Thanks Liekes again for this hard work.
Yes, It's a great way to get the best nurturing from the troop female, Thank goodness the troop will continue to work together to create a more healthy environment for the baby Kiango
God Bless🙏☺❤🧸🐒🐒
So great to see that little boy! Way to go Nemsi! She is amazing and stepped right up for that sweet little guy!
Nemsi took care of little Kiango, so nice! I just found out Gyasi was gone and good to know her son is in good hand of aunt's !
Seeing these images has moved me to tears because I feel sad not being able to see Gyasi again but I am happy that Kiango has his aunts who love him and will take care of him. Thanks again Likely for your amazing video.😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️🦍
He doesn't look as active as he was before. I think he is still missing his dear Momma 😢 the way he sleep on aunt Nemsi 😭 be strong baby ❤
It was a very rainy day and they didn't show up at the feeding place where he normally plays with the small monkeys. Ofc they got their food inside. And after two really hot days, this was a cold and rainy day so I think that's the reason for him playing less. Gorilla's don't enjoy temperature drops. Remember a video of 5 minutes out of 24 hours doens't give you all of the information you need ;). As far as I could observate Kiango is the Kiango we know, a playful and curious toddler who still loves to cuddle and needs that. Luckily nemsi is there for him to give him both!
@@LiekesShotOfLife thank you. Looking for more update more of Kiango from you ❤
My heart is breaking looking at his little face ❤️🇬🇧🦍
Thank God for all the elder female gorillas in troops throughout the zoo's worldwide.
看到這段影片覺得好感動😭
I'm so glad that the other Gorillas are taking good care of him; but I understand his longing, as I lost my Mom when I was young too, and there's a void that will never be filled. I hope that she's with him in spirit. Such a beautiful little Soul, he is.
I loved Gyasi’s firecracker personality and unrelenting spirit so much. Truly such a unique and intelligent gorilla. This must have been so hard for you Liese, you’ve watched these gorillas in person for so many years. I hope you’re doing well! Even through these sad circumstances, there truly is no one better than Nemsi with her kind character to care for baby Kiango. From my understanding, Nemsi and Gyasi have lived with eachother all their lives correct? I hope Gyasi would be relieved that her dear trusted sister is now caring for her little baby 😔
It is indeed not easy. I was happy to be there all by myself and just had the time to watch them without noise, or without people saying "oh look at mommy and baby" nemsi is wonderful but she is not his birthmom but I just can't get it over my lips to tell people in person right now.
Indeed Nemsi and Gyasi share the same dad (Bongo). And lived together since they're born. Nemsi has been seen to take care of Kiango when Gyasi was ill and she was okay with it. I think she is also happy Nemsi is taking care of Kiango. ❤️ Thanks for your lovely comment!
It’s all so very sad, but he is so lucky to have his mummy’s sister willing to step in to be his forever mommy. I have not been able to get poor Kiango out of my mind, still such a baby needing mom’s love and milk. He sure did love his mommy with all his heart and hopefully he will find a similar bond with sweet Nemsi. God bless this precious family. 🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
Thank God for these precious surrogate Moms that step up and help a baby in need after the loss of his Mom. I mean unfortunately there are humans that want even do that for a family member. Just a precious sight and so thankful for his new Mom. ❤️❤️
So sad, but comforting how the family has taken such good care of Kiango.😢♥️♥️♥️
*THIS IS NATURE AT ITS MOST PERFECT.*
Thank goodness for Kiango's foster mom. Thankyou for this lovely video.
My first comment has disappeared, I am sure it would have been hard for you to film, but also rewarding to see how well they have given Kiango the love & security... Take care mate, life goes on..🌹
Awwwwwes so happy to see the little guy doing good.. I was really worried for him.. Thank you for the update 🙏🦍🦍🦍❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍He does look less playful, but I guess no surprise there after loosing his mama. Hopefully he gets better as time goes by

@@LiekesShotOfLife very happy to hear.... Thank you again for the info.... 👍❤️🙏🦍 The little one is sure a bundle of joy to watch.
Thank you for sharing how the troop is getting along well with one another.
God Bless.☺🙏
My heart is breaking for this little guy 💔. He probably doesn’t understand what’s happened to his momma. So glad Nemo’s stepped up for him ♥️. I hope he gets his rambunctious spirit back.
Love Auntie Nemsi. ❤️
OK I cried - again. 🙏🏽
But thank you Lieke for this hopeful video. It reassured me - and many others I'm sure.
❣🦍❣🦍❣🦍
As painful to watch, as it is, thank you for the update Lieke.
Menos mal que está en buenas manos, no le va ha faltar cariño. Son una gran familia, son unas grandes madres 😍😚😚😚
I can't wait to see Kiango again and all his energy.
ooh pooor kiango 😭
Merci pour cette vidéo qui est très rassurante pour bébé et le groupe
🙏🙏🦍💙
Vredige video. Het is zo fijn dat Nemsi zo goed voor Kiango zorgt!
Bittersweet indeed. He was so close to his mum.
他應該還在想念媽媽吧!可憐的Kiango,幸好有阿姨照顧
我也覺得他還想著媽媽,看得出來Kiango沒有之前快樂😞感謝Nemsi 阿姨這麼照顧他❤️
Lieke, thank you for your dedication to these beautiful creatures and for this update we have all been waiting for.
很高興看到阿姨很疼愛寶寶的孩子,希望他一直平安幸福。
Thank you. It is great to hear Kiango has been taken care. Hope he has brother or sister soon. I believe he would less lonely if he has company.
For now I really hope he doesn't get a brother or sister. Because Nemsi would be the one to get a baby and then we've got a problem with Kiango. So for now it would be better to just let the formation be this way. I think Kiango has great playmates in Moto and Mojo (the smaller monkeys). Hopefully when Kiango can take care of himself, he gets a brother or sister.
@@LiekesShotOfLife Yes, I am agree with you.
Thank you for the video, I was missing my little buddy LOL, He seems to have lost his mohawk hair style, Now he is looking more like his nephew, Jabali. Hope all is well with you these days, Take Care, Stay Safe, Be Well, Mac from Georgia (USA)
Thank you for the updates. I'm so very sorry for this gorilla troop.
Poor little Kiango ,he obviously missing his mama still ,hopefully he can get comforts from Baobao and the troop
Gorillas are exceptional the most loving of creatures. Kiango is very lucky to have been born into a troop with females (especially Nemsi) who are willing to care for this sweet precious little one just like he was their own.
Liekes since he was still nursing do you happen to know how Kiango is getting his nutritional needs met now? Just wondering. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt video as I know it wasn’t easy for you to go to Apenheul so soon after Gyasi passing. ❤️🦍
Edit: a gorilla was born a few months ago to a first time Mom who wasn’t showing the necessary maternal instincts. An older more experienced Mother in the troop recognized this and on her own assumed the responsibility of being his surrogate Mom from day 1. She (Freddy also known as Fredricka) has a wonderful loving relationship with him (now known as Kayembe). Kayembe is almost 9 months old now and is thriving. I wish the same for Kiango. ❤️🦍
Yes in a feeding presentation the caretakers told he gets a bottle if he wants to, to get his nutritional needs. And there is a nutritionist in the staff who also watches everything closely. And they can keep track of his weight with the scale that's in the enclosure.
Wonderful how surrogate/foster moms can step in when it is necessary. Lovely to read the story!
Sweet Kayembe and Freddy are indeed wonderfull together as well 😍
Thank you so much, Lieke. Like many others, I’ve been anxiously waiting for this update and am so relieved to see that everyone is okay and especially that Kiango is being taken care of. I couldn’t bear the thought that he didn’t have Gyasi to love and protect him, but seeing him with Nemsi, I know that he’s getting plenty of cuddles and comfort. Maybe I’m just projecting my own feelings, but the whole troop seems to be in low spirits - I guess they’re still adjusting to the sad loss of their much-loved family member. Thank you again for making what must have been a very difficult and sad visit and for keeping us all updated. 🙏❤️

And after two really hot days, this was a cold and rainy day so I think that's the reason for him playing less and the rest of the group also laying low. What I could observate is the Kiango we know, a playful and curious toddler who still loves to cuddle.
And indeed it wasn't easy, and probably will stay that way for some time. We all miss her, but life goes on. I'm very happy though to see Nemsi is taking such good care of him ❤️
I am still so very sad that Gyasi is not with us anymore. She was so unique! I used to love watching her with and without Kiango. Every time i watch one of the new videos with Kiango, i cry.
But i have to add, that it's so great that Nemsi is such a wonderful and amazing new mom to Kiango. Humans have so much to learn from these fascinating beings!
It comforts his sis just as much as it comforts the little King❤
😍🙏 that’s amazing. Thank you for the video
So wonderful too see. They all seem like they are still a little off. I'm sure they are still mourning. I'm so glad he has his Auntie. I wonder if Tayari and Irirki would step up and do the same if God forbid something happened to one of them, as both sister's have always been together too.
Meh the weather was awful this particular day. I think that's the problem. The mourning has probably taken place already.
Tayari and Iriki would step in. They both know how to be moms and the girls have known each other since birth. But let's hope that never will be necessary.
❤️❤️❤️
Brought me to tears
First of all you've showed great courage Lieke going here after Gyasi 's death..chapeau👏🥰❤I am very gratefull to see Nemsi taking good care of our beautiful little man🥰still I feel big sadness in my heart especially when I hear the music that to me is also characteristic for footages of Gyasi and Kiango..is it me or just my imagination that I sense a resignation of a deeply saddened family as if they are really aware of the loss in their midst😪🙏and when I look into Kiango's beautiful round shining eyes inherited of his mom my heart breaks💔even when he tries to do his normal thing you can notice that his normally shining eyes miss that extra glow because he is sad and misses mom😪❤thanx you Lieke for sharing this love warming footage with us!😘❤🥰🌞🌻

@@LiekesShotOfLife Thank you for all the hard work you do for us gorilla fans especially in this sad period🥰❤
@@bepje18158 thanks for your kind words. It are sad times. But I also feel the love of all the people for this wonderful family and then I want to keep everybody who cares so much about them up to date. Its hard but I try my best. Thanks for the lovely comment ❤️
@@LiekesShotOfLife thank you for all you do to bring these beautiful animals to us.
Mandji raised Mapasa (Kisiwa’s son), now her daughter Nemsi does the same with Kiango. History repeats itself.
God it’s sad as hell even for these magnificent creatures when they lose a love one. I love nature so much it hurts.
Kiango looks like Tayari baby Jabali🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Is Kiango Tayari half brother ? How old is he. He look so lovely💗
Yes, he is Tay's half brother. 1 year 5 months if im not mistaken.
@@pinkyboose ahh he is younger than Jabali. Kiango looks strong. Thank you!💗🌷🙋🏻♀️
@@mentayflor Welcome. Yes, he is very strong little one. You can watch his old videos, he is like a mini Silverback 😅 I called him Silverbutt 😆 too cute! I'ts very sad to see him going through this, losing his momma when he was still breast feeding 😢 I hope his going to be ok 💪❤
@@pinkyboose Poor baby. I didn't know she lost her mom. In addition, his father has heart problems. I will watch the previous videos Thank you!💗
Oh how beautiful. Thank you for sharing the update.
It has come at just the right time for me …. I came upon a UA-cam upload which has distressed me so much. Poachers filming themselves garrotting 2 female bonobos for bush meat and terrorising one of the females baby’s. I was so angry that the upload had 567 likes. I adore all great apes and your upload has reminded that we has humans have a lot to learn from all of the great apes….gorilla, bonobo, chimpanzee and orangutan. Compassion, gentleness and love. Love to Kiango and his beautiful family ❤️ It must have been difficult to film the family after their loss ❤️
Awful how poachers work and even proudly film it. Unacceptable but sadly the truth. Although I would live all great apes to live om big beautiful islands, when they're not safe I'd rather see them in zoos. Because they're safe ❤️
@@LiekesShotOfLife You are so right so I decided to check out one of your beautiful uploads of Thandie and Vizazi eating roses in their beautiful zoo home. So thank you and keep us update on the Bao Bao family ❤️
Kianguinho..😥...
Daddy looks so sad
What happened to Gyasi? I'd appreciate an answer from any of you, folks. Thank you.
Since Gyasi passed, how does Kiango nurse? Do the caretakers bottle feed him? It must be traumatic and difficult not to have his dear mother to teach him, nurse him and to cuddle him.
he's doing well, he already eats a lot of the vegetables and is offered a bottle multiple times a day. Nemsi is his surrogate mother now and he cuddles her, he sleeps with/on her and she makes sure he is safe. Gyasi passing away is sad and painful but luckily he has Nemsi who takes good care of him!
What happened to Kiango's mom??
She sadly died
😢😢😢
@@LiekesShotOfLife
Please what happened to his mama.
Died because of a bacterial infection
