That’s exactly what I do with my niece! Dang I wish she was a little gorilla! I love their life. It’s so serene and little Kiango’s perfect chubby legs and butt just drives me nuts!

Gyasi seems to be quite a relaxed mama - is she also affectionate with him sometimes? Lovely to see BaoBao taking it easy in the sunshine, too. 😍

Ah thanks for the lovely comment and watching the video! I try to soak up as much as I can and film as much as I can while the season is comming to an end and the parc will be closed for winter from November till March 2022. And indeed we all hope the same for BaoBao ;)!
Me either! I can’t watch them during the day or I get sleepy so I wait for my off days or watch at night! Definitely helps with stress!

Kiango is in alle opzichten een verrassing! Voorlijk, zelfstandig en zeker niet eenkennig! Andere gorillababy's in de diverse dierenparken doen het ook goed, maar juist door ze nauwkeurig te vergelijken - zeker qua leeftijd - zie je gewoon, dat hij opvallend vroegrijp en ook stoer is!
Gaat het goed met Bao-Bao? Ik heb er verder geen verstand van, maar hij zag er wel goed uit.
Kiango is idd een prachtig mannetje. Hij heeft natuurlijk ook uitzonderlijk rustige groep met dames die elkaar al jaren kennen en geen pubers die vervelend kunnen doen. Dat scheelt veel. Maar het is mooi om te zien, hoe stoer hij al rondstapt.
Bao Bao is gelukkig wel weer wat aangekomen maar die hartproblemen zijn blijvend en er zijn dus goede en slechte dagen bij. Maar hij had zeker een goede dag in deze video ;)
It is amazing how loving females gorillas can be towards young apes, when I was visiting the apes and monkeys at the zoo and a 4 year old just stood but the window and all the female gorillas came to say hello to them.

Liekes, will you run into keepers at the zoo? There is a female keeper from Taipei Zoo who is very close to Bao Bao, I am wondering if you have the chance to speak to Bao Bao's keepers, can you suggest them to set up a video-call with that keeper to cheer up Bao Bao ? I heard that gorilla has good memory, an old friend's comfort must be a big cheer-up for Bao Bao. They knew who that female keeper is since she was with Bao Bao when he moved there!

To answer your question, I know the zookeepers of Taipei had contact with the zookeepers of Apenheul for Tayari and Jabali. So if the female keeper wants to speak to the keepers, she knows how to reach them ;). But he is not depressed, he has a heart condition. So that's not something a zookeeper of Taipei can fix by video calling. Hope I've answered your question
