Nobody anthropomorphizes like Delta. She is the queen of Anthropomorphism. Note: Savers donates some of their profits to charity. They originated in the Pacific Northwest. Their niche is higher quality / more rigorously curated items. In addition, they are known to employ a lot of recently released incarcerated women. They basically run an ex con sweatshop in the back to sort out the best treasures. Lots of chola types. Very Delta.
Detox is in her 2005 Tori Amos era. Also, I can't believe she just referenced Portishead Live in Roseland NYC - Best live album ever recorded - and Beth Gibbons new single is one of the best of her career. "Floating on a Moment." She could sing happy birthday and it would come out like a creepy, beautiful bday ghost.
I have always thought Detox would be a fun hang but when she dropped Portishead Live in Roseland NYC I knew the vibe was RIGHT. So agreed on the new single too, Beth is amazing.
@@DOCDOCFLAMINGOS You're extremely not wrong! Love me some "Roads"! I guess if someone held a gun to my Portishead, I'd have to pick "Sour Times" just because of that epic growling and wailing at the end. She jumped, head first, right into the lava pits of hell for that one. And, I appreciates it! But, "Glory Box" has been my shower song since I was 15. I don't know what it is about being in warm water, but that song kind of involuntarily wants to come out, every time. I actually did a cover of Glory Box with a 4-track recorder, many years ago. I cut the bottom out of a styrofoam cup and put it around the mic, so I could get that hollow, distant effect. Added strange vocals on the 4th track to somewhat mimic strings and piano, which I later heavily warped, altered, fried, and bent so that it didn't sound like someone's voice. It was one of the (very) few recordings I ever made, that I was proud enough to pass around :) There's my life story, lol.
@@javyjavyjavyjavy Meee tooo, same, same. I always knew we were a lot a like...we like to unapologetically party but still pay the bills, love extremes because the rest is boring, and have a dark sense of humor (like, really dark)...but under all that wreckless chaos is a bitch that will help you move, and show up at your aunt's funeral with a strawberry pie. lol. @@sisterseeth First off... Thank you for taking the time to share every bit of that with me!! All the feels and emotions you describe for "Sour Times" and "Glory Box" is how "Roads" has been for me from the very first time I heard it!! It's a song that I have put on repeat for hours on end, more times then I could even begin to count!! For good, bad, and mediocre times in my life.... When I just needed to feel something! Always with some degree or amount of crying!! It's just always been cathartic for me, in a way I can't even begin to understand... I just put it on and go with it!!! Again thank you for sharing your "life story" Lol!! It was a pleasure reading it.
I cackled at the end with Delta telling Detox “well I’ll just tell you you as soon as we’re done” and Detox wrapping the show 😂 This was so good. Detox and Delta together are too impactful.
These two need a full podcast together!! …although I feel like I find myself saying that with most of Delta’s guests because she’s such a great interviewer, so there’s almost always excellent chemistry and flow to the conversation. ❤😊
I love detox so much. She has to be one of my favorite queens in all of drag race herstory! Her humor, her honesty, her aesthetic, i love it all. She's just a total classic.
I think I clocked it…Mija massacre, (luscious massacres, drag daughter ) and that super handsome guy with the rosy cheeks that does vintage hair… Tony Medina. Same person.
Thank you thank you thank you! My 14 year old self screamed when you started talking about Rescue Me! That song has always been a #1 for me as well. I remember Detox freaking out on their socials back in the Madam X tour ramp up because we thought it was going to happen back then, alas no dice. Delta we are sending out an SOS, stop us from drowning babyyyyyy…..D will do the rest! Love your show/pod/face!!
Detox looks so good today!! Love this hair color on her, and with that dress, just beautiful! And Delta looks amazing too, the hair is everything! And the mug is always right!👌🖤 Love you mama Delta! 🔸🖤🔸
Delta you don’t need to go in Antiques Roadshow, you just did your own episode better than they ever could or have done👏 the journey! 👏the story arc! 👏
Great interview Delta is so good! Detox is one of the best queens from Drag Race for sure. She looks great, has loads of charisma and know how to put on a show. ❤️❤️
I don’t know why, but every time you talk about taking a break, I feel the spirit😂🙌 I wanna take a break! Loved you both, such a great energy! Feels like two good friends having a great time! 🫶
I started laughing so hard when you finally exposed the Ross price tag on that vase. You had me there with you through the whole story. Ready to hear about the research you did, and it ended up coming from some famous writers desk, and I thought you were about to show us some famous artist's engraved signature...... And then it's just a price tag from Ross!!! 🤣😂 You got me girl, you got me so hard 😂
delta finding out that the vase was from Ross or Home Goods was the funniest thing ever and even most amusing was when she asked Detox if she thought it was vintage and Detox clocked that it wasn't I laughed so loud at that moment.
Kudos to my Queen, Delta, for always making a space for others to shine. I know it's parasocial shit but I really do love her as a person, always bringing people up, always being interesting herself, always funny, serious when the moment is right, listening and reacting... sorry but this is journalism ! Delta is to me a mix between Dick Cavett's deep conversations and Joan River's sick humour ! A great interviewer !! (Love you Delta)
Oh my got I loved them singing the "I sit on acid" track! It gives me life when the queens reference underground dance music, like when RuPaul mentioned "The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight" in a recent season
I want to thank delta and her producers for this show/podcast, they have no idea (until now) how happy it makes me. Every time I’m down , which lately has been often, it lifts me right back up. I love you delta work. 🫶🏼
My question to you Delta is would you have bought that Vase in Ross for $9.99 if you saw it there? Would you have felt different about it if you saw it for 75 cents?
what most people dont realize is that detox is a very emotional person and i think thats beautiful, i love how she gets emotional when she talks about her sister, ugh!
I been loving Rescue Me for a couple months. I recommend this track to my friends and they also fall in love with it. Wished that track received more love.
I love that I just spent 10 minutes watching Delta talk about a 5 dollar vase. 😂
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.
and i ate up EVERY single second of it. fkn had my dyinggg.

Delta’s eulogy for the value of the vase was beautiful.
