Jade is one of my favorite patio plants. Here in Florida we get enough rain that theybare nearly zero maintenance for me. Had mine almost 10 years now and they are just like a good friend that has always been there and gives me no headaches or stress like some of my other plants. Highly recommended for a patio plant if you live in a warmer climate.
I stuck a 2 ft. branch that had broken off on the top of the soil in a mottled shade/sun area...Forgot about it and about 6 months later, it was plump, green and had grown several inches everywhere!! So forgiving, and easy to grow, highly recommend. Sunset jade is my favorite with the orange edges, so pretty!!
Aren't plants incredible?! Thanks so much for watching and for your comments! I just divided the mama plant of this guy and was left with one piece that was just a piece of branch - no leaves, no roots - I'm going to see if he'll grow too! Fingers crossed!
Hello. Have a question. I have a 3ft out of the pot tall, and 4ft wide jade that I want to repot. Current pot is 15in wide by 9.5 high. Do you believe it’s safe transferring this beast to a 12.5i. wide by 10in tall? Thank you. Mark
It sounds like your "beast" of a jade plant is quite well established. I find that plants are quite resilient despite what we might put them through. I would definitely try to find a bigger pot than what you have in case some of the roots are very thick and don't appreciate the man-handling, but if you want to squeeze it into a narrower pot, you might just break off a few of the outer roots depending on how big/dense they are. It'll probably be fine for now, but you may want to just wait and find a pot that's a bit wider to give it some more room to grow and become even bigger! Sorry that wasn't more affirmative! Good luck with your beast! I bet it's beautiful!!
Thanks to your comment, I've added the following to the description - if only I could amend the video after posting... If your jade plant is coming from drier soil, like the one featured in the video, give it a good watering right away. If your current jade plant has been wet for a while, you could simply repot and jump right into your regular watering schedule. If your current jade plant has been damaged in the transplant process or you remove large parts of the roots/plant, you could wait a few days before watering to let the plant heal and callus over. Afterwards, give it a good watering and enjoy 💚
Thank you for the detailed add-on description. 😊 The jade plant I got off of marketplace does seem to be suffering a little. It was really leggy and the leaves were yellowing and falling off. I repotted it, but didn’t water it right away, because of another video. I wanted a second opinion which is why I clicked on your video. Thanks again 😁
@@nadines111 if it's very leggy, it probably needed more sunlight - hope it perks up with your care! Have you tried propagating it from fallen leaves? That's how I made this little guy - it's super fun, but takes a long time for it to get even to this size! Give it a try if you lose any of the leaves (particularly the healthier looking ones)! Good luck with your new plant!

Great idea! I so wish I could do the same! I bet your jade is enormous! What a good buddy he is! 💚
Urggg…I’m scared to repot mine buttt…here I go! 🙏❤️
You've got this! Your plant will probably thank you for its new home! Good luck! 💚

So the branches did not look like bare stalks at the bottom?
Isn’t that funny? One would think it was dead when you thought about it.
Lovely plant! 💚😀
Thank you - and thank you for watching 💚
That is cute.
Thanks! You should've seen it when it was just a baby - this one is a few years old now! ☺️

@@TheSuburbanGardenista thank you, and if I was able to post a photo I would have. Have a great night
@@MarkBakerPhotographer thanks! You too! And good luck with the beast!
Where did you get that pot
Lol I think I got it from the dollar store! Dollarama has lots of great pots - and so cheaper than anywhere else!!
Did you water it right away after repotting it?
Yep! I gave it a nice watering, which gave it a drink and also helped it settle into its new home. 💚
Did you water it after repotting?
Oh yes - give it a nice drink after the new soil - good luck and happy gardening!
Your baby boy is to cute 🥰🥰
Aww, thanks! You should've seen him when he was just a wee baby!! 🌱

I wasted 5 minutes. I was waiting for you to talk about watering. Do you water right away or do you wait for a few days. Ughhhh 🫤
My apologies - yes - water right away - especially if your soil was dry like mine! Thank you for watching and for the comment!
