  • Scottish singer Dougie MacLean has given his blessing for his love song Caledonia to become the new Scotish national anthem should Scots vote for independence
The 60-year-old Perthshire performer's most famous song is known worldwide and is favoured by many to be installed as the country's "official" anthem should we need one.
Contrary to popular belief, Scotland currently has no official national anthem, but both Scotland The Brave and Flower of Scotland have held the position for generations.
Caledonia, written by Dougie while backpacking in France 36 years ago, is a front-runner for the accolade.
