Wunderbar! Gebt mehr Nachwuchsorganisten eine Chance in UA-cam eine Chance zur Vorstellung! Ich Sammele alle Interpretationen der "Dorischen", die ich entdecke. 25 habe ich schon. Bei dieser gefällt mir, dass sie zügig aber nicht so schnell gespielt ist.

Meisterhaft vorgespielt. Das Tempo war hervorragend und ich fand auch toll, wie Details in der Komposition deutlich wahrnehmbar waren. Es war eine Freude zuzuhören. Grosses Kompliment und Dankeschön an die Kantorin/Organistin. Das Dankeschön an den größten Komponisten aller Zeiten ist obligatorisch.

ER ist nun mal DER MEISTER, Gottes Minister für abendländische Tonkunst. Und SEIN Vize ist Vivaldi. Aber der Meister konnte die menschliche Seele in Noten malen. Das war nur EINEM vergönnt. Vivaldi malte den Rest von Gottes Schöpfung ...❤

Unnötig zu sagen, dass es ein wunderschönes Stück von Bach ist. Ich bin immer wieder begeistert, wie Menschen das dann tatsächlich auch kraft ihres Kopfes und ihrer Gliedmaßen so wunderschön wiedergeben können. Ich weiß nicht, ob sich tatsächlich jeder vorstellen kann, wieviel Kraft und Mühe da drin steckt, dies so zu spielen, wie sie es uns hier präsentiert hat, Hut ab !
Wunderbare Interpretation auf einem wunderbaren Instrument. Manchmal denke ich mir, Bach wäre vor Glück gestorben, hätte, er seine Musik so hören können. Vielen Dank für das Video, das übrigens auch genial geschnitten ist.

Und endlich wieder mal ein ausgespielter Triller :-D Da schlägt das Herz gleich höher. Auch die kleinen hineingeworfenen Trillerchen unterwegs sind toll gemacht. Insgesamt mag ich das Stück trotzdem eher auf der noch etwas langsameren Seite gespielt, so wie Richter.
Agreed. A slightly more pedestrian tempo benefits this particular toccata. That said, the performance is outstanding!

I cannot imagine how this could be any better played than this. Of course including the Fugue would be nice. This and the C major Toccata are my favorites of all Bach’s organ works. Thank you! I’ll be back to listen again.

I remember when I was about 13, playing all that "Dorian toccata an fugue" in my head while walking to school. The musical theme and rythme of the taccata look a lot like one of the 2 or 3 part (?) inventions from J.S.too. That's a lot ! Greetings from Québec city, Canada!!

The moment when it resolves from V to the final D bass note is amazing
In this composition (and all the other Bach especially uses this sound - f.ex. in its fugue, and twice i found in BWV 541 etc) I love the one and half bars between the dominant bassnote A (bar 94 at 05:08 mm:ss) and the final tonique (in bar 95.3 at 05:17 mm:ss). Do you hear the F bassnote with its chord on top (A major hold from the bar before) on the first beat of the bar 95 (the same bar when the final D appears in the bass for just a short moment on the third beat 05:14 mm:ss)? In modern Jazz a regular chord - but after Bach I didn't notice this chord for more than 150 years. It is an Fmaj7#5 chord on the first beat in this bar (F-A-C#-E)!!! - this is the "parallel major" chord in D melodic minor (bIII maj7#5). Bach knew this chord and its function and colour. Far beyond all musicans at this time. If you know that sound and it's function (in Jazz, but as you can see much earlier in Bachs music) this is very enlightening...

Excellent! But where's the Fugue? I would have loved to have heard it as you play so well and the organ sounds so good.
Several interpretations only have the toccata, but the 538's just not the same without the fugue.
Großartig. Ich kenne dieses Werk seit ich ein Kind bin (mein Vater hatte eine Platte von Fernando Germani) und habe es immer beim Spielen aufgelegt und gehört - hunderte Male (so auch die BWV 541 etc). Ein Stückweit ganz private DNA. Mittlerweile kenne ich zig Aufnahmen und Videos dieses Stückes - mal in einem Angebertempo (Thema verfehlt...) oder im Dauertutti etc. ... Aber hier ganz auf des Werk konzentriert: tolle Interpretation, Stil und Registratur zeigen Auseinandersetzung nicht nur mit den Fingersätzen, sondern mit dem Werk an sich.
Interessant der "Verspieler"(?) in Takt 62 (03:29 mm:ss). Ich musste die Stelle mehrmals hören, da sie von meiner auswendigen Version abwich (Das Fis in D moll, dass sich aber kurz nach einer picardischen Terz anhört) Falsch und doch richtig. Manche Fehler erweitern den Horizont. Bitte mehr Ihres Könnens, Maestra!
