The bag was originally designed to a workhorse and to replace Jane Birkin’s overflowing straw basket bags - not to sit untouched and pristine on a white closet shelf next to an untouched Lady Dior and a Chanel Reissue or whatever. :) I lurk (a lot) in those forums and I find them to be... not for people like me. I’m not ever going to be able to afford a $14k USD handbag, no matter how many coffees I don’t buy or how much “putting a little away” I do each month. It’s just a wholly unrealistic lifestyle for me to aspire to and, knowing that, it’s just sad and a little humiliating to get involved with people who live it on the daily AND think less of other people who don’t. You’re a joy to watch, I hope you keep going and keep using that bag exactly as much as you damn well please. :)

I'm stunned someone could think that people should not be allowed to buy secondhand Hermes. Anyone who says things like that is clearly too wealthy to understand reality. Not everyone can afford a $20K handbag and people who do buy a $20K bag have every right to sell it if they want. Not only are they suggesting people like us should never be allowed to buy secondhand, they are removing the resale market and the money that comes back to the sellers of such bags. This would immediately devalue all Hermes bags as people would know they would never make back a single cent. Ridiculous. People like that should be forced to work at McDonalds for a week and live of $25 a day. Then they might understand the real world.

First of all, your little boy is soooo adorable! About your Birkin, it doesn't look old or slouchy at all to me. My brand new B30 Togo GA that I bought from FSH came with the veins. My 7 year old B35 togo however doesn't have the veins. That is just how togo is like. Whoever questioned you about it doesn't know Hermes at all. You have become very popular on social media, and unfortunately this also brings some negativeness. I am by no means close to your popularity, and I once had a comment calling me "ugly". I laughed at it. I am not the prettiest girl that I know, but I hell know that I am no where close to ugly. lol. Husband said that I should be happy about nasty comments like that because that shows people are jealous of me. I posted online to share my interests with people who have the same interests as myself, not to brag about anything. But unfortunately one of the side effects is to make certain people jealous of us.
