      @@2029killtime You're wrong, crazy in love (2003) came out before 1 thing (2005). Amerie worked with Rich Harrison before beyonce but her first album didn't have the gogo sound. Rich recreated and reintroduced the gogo sound into Rand B but he shopped around and Amerie didn't want to do it at first because she didn't think it would be popular. He shopped it to Beyonce and she was reluctant as well but agreed and that's how Crazy in love came to be. Only after Crazy in Love became a hit did Amerie reconsider using the gogo sound. She is from DC and obviously influenced by Gogo sound but her music didn't feature it until after the success of crazy in love. Rich created that sound and she was not the first to actually use it and introduce it into mainstream.

    Jack, this song was voted one of the best songs of the 21st Century by Rollingstone. The sound/genre is called go-go music. It's heavily influenced by funk and is heavy on percussion as well. It originated out of the Washington DC area. You can hear this kind of music on almost every street corner in DC.

    Amerie was the ORIGINATOR of the percussive,go-go(DC sound)swag-out genre. Rich Harrison produced her first album (All I Have 2002) & her second album( Touch,which this song's from 2005). Rich branched out & worked with J-Lo,Beyonce & others. Amerie was Rich's muse,much like Timbaland was with Aaliyah.

    • @hallecandi4028
      @hallecandi4028 4 роки тому +1

      she wasn’t no ORIGINATOR! first of all this sound was originated long before Amerie was even born. tf wrong with you? 2nd Beyonce has this song before her. her first album didn’t have this sound at all, Beyonce album in 2003 did though with the title track. even Rich Harrison said Beyonce was the first artist he even did this sound with. Rich worked with other artists before amerie too he had hi in the 90s bby. Amerie stole Beyonces sound and was very inspired by Bey hence why she was doing destinys child tributes

    This and Crazy In Love are some of the best songs of the 2000s. Both are produced by Rich Harrison. But if I had to choose between them, I'd go with this due to it's urgent, fidgety melody especially THAT CHORUS. This had the misfortune of being released in 2005 when We Belong Together also came out, which it lost a Grammy to. Also, her name is pronounced /ey-me-ree/. She's half black, half Korean.
    Toni has a track with this production - it was released but has no video - it's called TAKE THIS RING. Also produced by Rich.

    Almost 15 years old and this song still BANGS!!! That tatoo you saw on her back was her name in Korean. Her father is black and mother is korean. When this came out around the summer, I was jammin to this and Jennifer Lopez Get Right song ( which she was sold to her from Usher, but he should have kept that joint). Her name is pronounced A-ma-ry (Amerie) and when she first came out in the summer of 2002 with Why Don't We Fall in Love, I was hooked man! 1 Thing is her biggest hit and yes that percussion in straight D.C called Go-Go music. Crazy in love & One thing are both produced by Rich Harrison the style of music is go go soul. Amerie & Rich harrison were signed to sony records together they were unknowns he produced and she wrote they did a song called loves off the chain which is go go soul the sound they created inspired him to do crazy in love with beyonce and then one thing came after. Amerie does go go soul on most of her albums. Gotta Work is another go go soul music video from Amerie you might like it and Curious is her most resent video which is rnb but the video is inspired by scenes from One thing❤

    The drum/percussion beats are a sound out of D.C. called Go-Go. It’s been around since the 70’s. If you’ve ever heard that Freeze! song, “Bustin’ Loose” or Jill Scott’s song “It’s Love,” then you’ve heard some go-go created by The Godfather of go-go himself, Chuck Brown. It's has elements of Go-Go music. Go-Go music is a sound that Chuck Brown created back in the 70's. "Bustin' Loose" was one of his popular songs. The Go-Go sound is mostly popular in Washington D.C. This song was produced by Rich Harrison. He also produced Beyonce's "Crazy In Love"
