Don't underestimate the Dutch song (Netherlands). It reached the top 40 on UK iTunes stores recently. Also that song from Switzerland has great potential.

smithy2365 it's more about fighting for equality, by breaking stereotypes of what man/woman supposed to be he sing nice, but it's the preformance and strong theme that won it was a very risque move, and it payed off
***** but Conchita was one of the best entries in whole eurovision(the eurovision standards are really low tbh...) we may argue if he deserve to be winner or not, and i trully respect opinion of those who thinks he don't but he really deserved to be in top 3, not because of being what he is, but because of his great preformance
Conchita had more attention than the other contestants see how the women who hosted this entire thing from Denmark gave her the spotlights. Sure shes a great singer but the others were also good. Most of em.

I don't know why the bets have started talking about Armenia winning, I think these bets influence people like it happened 2 years in a row. I think 2014 will be the year with the most good songs where a dozen of them have the ability to win. Except from 3-4 that are made only to be made fun of, the rest are decent and they deserve to be in ESC 2014. Way to go!

(In my opinion,) Top tier: Spain, Switzerland (so happy =) ), Iceland, Norway (that voice!), Finland (my favorite this year!) Second tier: Sweden, Estonia, F.Y.R Macedonia, Ireland, Ukraine, Latavia But hey, at least it's not balladvision like it was in 2010. Based on these song selections though, I'm kinda glad I didn't study abroad this year to Denmark (mainly to watch Eurovision live, not denying it), I feel like I wouldn't have enjoyed this year as much since they're not as much energies in the songs this year.
Finally Finnland got a great song and band this year, better than the last years in Eurovision. But of course no one's gonna top Lordi in 2006 (?). Germany has remained true to itself with its folk pop music and at the same time the song is a real ear wig, I've been singing this song along for 3 weeks now.

It's nice to watch this now in 2018 and remember all those great songs there were back then! :) I mean what a year for ESC was 2014! My favs are Sweden, Russia, Latvia, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Moldova, Slovenia, F.Y.R Macedonia, Albania and Romania! And as I'm from Finland, I felt happy when I heard that our song wasn't THAT bad, haha. I mean by that bc we don't do well in ESC but yeah, I think "Something better" was ok (or literally something better :D) but it didn't succeed well either... And I just noticed that this is the year in which so many neighbour countries had so good songs!😃 It's great as well that the songs were in random order in this video so you can never know what will be coming next! :) Imo it should be in this way always.

These slavians from FYROM have stole part of our history changing the history. I don't remember any lyrics from that part but if you know the song "Rather be" (it was a hit song in 2013) you should recognize it. Maybe the thing that doesn't make it a "rip-off" is that the parts were very short.
