Great one Tyler! Interesting to know how the two cities compare. Though not too fair in the sense that Madrid is one of the biggest in Europe to the second biggest in Portugal. It may be good if you can find someone in Valencia and compare Valencia to Madrid to Puerto .
Your guest is very honest and it is quite natural that his years in Madrid might not be the best due to him being younger and less experienced at the time.
As a kid and teenager I grew up and lived in a small coastal town and it was really an overwhelming experience when I moved to a big city at a very young age (17). But as the saying goes... to everyone his own... we find our safe space and we carry on with life!

Thanks for watching and sharing Jacques! Over the years I've often found that my experiences have little to do with place. However, I remain curious about other parts of world and the perspectives of others.

Spain is fine as kind. Some Portuguese people get upset, because Spain seems to get the credit for everything. While most Americans think that Portugal is a provinces of Spain.

Stopped watching this video at the momment your guest said "your Spanish audience is gonna hate me".
His opinions are worthless since he made it obvious that he is biased.

It’s an interview based on personal experience. What are you expecting? Of course he’ll be biased cause he’s explaining his experience and what he likes the best.

Can you talk about the Okupas situation in Spain and is it not safe to move there and if the same type of problem exists in Portugal.

I think it's problematic to make generalisations about a country and its people based on an individual's personal experience in one specific city - in this case, Madrid. Perhaps this video should be entitled 'Madrid vs Porto' rather than 'Portugal vs Spain'. Spain is a massive country with many wonderful cities and diverse peoples. I also spent four years living in Madrid, and have now been living in Lisbon, Portugal for the past four years. I would be really interested to know what Josh's level of Spanish was like when he lived in Madrid. My first year in Madrid was incredibly difficult because I didn't have a good enough level of Spanish, but I persevered and, after joining a Volleyball and a Triathlon club, and getting involved in my local community, I became fluent in Spanish. Once I was fluent in Spanish the next three years in Madrid were the best in my life, and I can honestly say that it is the most dynamic city I have ever lived in. Madrid is a walkable city, it's got loads of beautiful parks, world class transport, fantastic restaurants, and I found people to be extraordinarily friendly, and always up for a good time. My experience in Lisbon, Portugal has been that the language is difficult to learn, and the people are more reserved and keep to themselves. So it has been much harder to make friends than it was in Spain. I find the public transport and infrastructure much more advanced in all of Spain. In fact, I often find Lisbon so impractical to get around by public transport which is very limited for a city of it's size, or to walk, due to the hills! Everyone's experience is unique living in different countries, but having lived in Spain and now Portugal, I miss Spain like CRAZY! 🇪🇸
