You are much to kind Miss Cindy, especially given the degradation of the tape. I don't know how that happened in storage except to surmise that the tapes are magnetic based and sometimes inadvertedly get stored next to magnetic devices such as mounts for cameras.
I love that area. We just put up a paranormal investigation at the Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City. I love the footage guys. I can't believe they had to put a sign no fishing. LOL
