What a crazy Drag Week for you both. So nice to see the car community just helping out whatever way they can. Jake the Snake and his shop are top notch!
This channel has really stepped up it's game. The most informative recount of your dragweek saga. Instead of being blamed for breaking it, Tony saved it. I lost a cap out of the front u joint once. I didn't save it in time. Took out the front yoke, driveshaft , exhaust and dented the hell out of my floorboards (don't ask)
@@StayTunedTA no, I thank you, I was one of the geezers sitting at the picnic bench with you and Finn before his run at gateway. You guys had time for idle chat when you had much more on your minds. It was probably your last happy moments of that week.

thank you for awesome inside point of view. cant wait to see the street freak firebird on the road. i think it would be really cool to see you with the firebird and Finns tri5 do a drag and drive in the future.
Pro race teams have a check list and routine/procedure they stick too. I think having a prerun check list that one sticks to while running in a drag and drive race event would be extremely useful against mistakes caused by the hectic nature and fatigue associated with these events.
@@StayTunedTA you guys were tired, scramblin’ and people and cameras in your faces. It’s not easy. When I raced bikes I had a checklist and it’s a huge help it is so easy to forget something simple when there is so much chaos around you and the adrenaline is pumping.

Been dorking out on these videos from day one. Avoided all germaine media so as to not happen upon a spoiler. Sorry for you guys it ended without that last pass, but it still made good content for me to watch. Thanks for that
Even before the Drag Week video, I had been re-thinking the fancy gas tank I was about to put in my truck. My gut had told me, use a more conventional tank for street use, and switch over to a small tank for racing. Again, before this all happened, was thinking why have to fill a large tank all the way to the top and carry that extra weight, just so I don't starve the expensive pump. Two tanks is the way I'm going - though the small tank will have to be custom.
Hopefully sometime soon you guys can do an event or something with Blasphemi, you both deserve it after all the thrashing you guys did. On another not since Mike's started drifting maybe you could have him out for a drift event or something down the rod :)
Query: Is there a LeMons style Drag Week or a category within H.R.D.W. itself? A sort of (roadworthy) junkyard cars, junkyard parts only, very minimal cost cap, where reliability is a bigger issue than power/power:weight. Conceptually, in my head i'm thinking kind of early Roadkill stuff/Cleetus's original 'Ruby' setup, short prep time from purchase -> race (a minimizing of the cheatsydoodling possibilities). A bit of a challenge on whatever's available, limitation of parts to work with, compatability comprimisation, a focus on the ol' grey matter and hands on.skills.
Good story Tony. I follow you guys on all the media's when I can. I really enjoy what you guys are doing and what you have to say. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watching and buying your sponcer's products.
I watched a course on hypnosis and the mechanics of it, you speak to the subconscious mind when someone is induced but you don't have to be asleep to be under hypnosis, if you ask someone their favourite meal and get them to describe the smell and taste of it and their mouth starts to water then you have induced a reaction by suggestion, I feel a lot of these forces are to do with this conditioning within the routine, adverts do this all the time. I believe it would be extremely easy for a good magician to cross over into hypnosis. Derren Brown has made a fantastic living through this process. You are an extremely accomplished master of your art and you continue to improve and hone your craft so have you considered throwing a little hypnosis in or as Derren Brown puts it mentalism in your routines? Also you two were amazing on unsubscribe it was so good to see you guys without the pg beeps even though you did have to get some pc beeps. You freaked the shit out of the Christ-like Brandon Herrera he is renowned for his laid-back demeanour and it was hilarious to see him so far out of his comfort zone. All the best from Scotland and I love the show.
If Blashemi was fully developed and tested before Drag Week, there would be no drama, few clicks, and little revenue. So, depending what the goal was, maybe it was a success.
TA I said it on Finnegans channel and im going to say it here, You need a Crew Chief for the build and race prep to watch over everything...... As you said Mike gets pulled 6 ways from Sunday by fans and will be seriously scatter brained just meeting his fan commitments as you would to a lesser degree. A checkit list guy or gal, someone who checks whats packed and ready, fuel levels right down to SD cards and batteries and is so scary that NOBODY even looks at them :-) let alone distracts them. That frees you all up for event participation.........
Good thing you have all that experience. Could feel the issues. And where else but outside Indy (racing holy land) would you find a quality engine shop. Great vid

If Mike wants to really make a go of it, he has to plan accordingly and debug on test sessions, not the first day of Drag Week. It's one thing to have bad luck, it's another when you fail to prepare and test. I commend you and your sticking with it, as I've said you're probably the best "side of the road" mechanic there is.
Not cursed, just perpetually last minute build leading to issues and mistakes. Also, tell Finnegan to set some safety cutoffs in the ECU. 😁 Paying thousands for the electronics and then using it as a black box after the fact to diagnose what happened to tens of thousands instead of using it to prevent the problems(and money lost) in the first place is kind of silly. A couple lights you can't miss on the dash for low fuel/oil pressure, EGT would go a long way.
Yeah, that's kind of the name of the game, but you aren't wrong. This isn't how you run a race program but he got it as far as he could and we took a swing. Apparently there wasn't time with the tuning to set up the safeguards but I'm sure they will be there in future.
