This is the best video format. No BS intro music video, no Chad talking for six minutes about how Turkish get ups changed his life and made his dong bigger. Simply the exercise you're trying to learn and THAT'S IT.

Yea, We Turks always get-up like this. If i forget to bring my kettlebell near to my bed i imidiately call my mom to bring it. Man you can't understand how hard is to get-up without doing this in Turkey.

Before anyone does this with weight, you should practice with a shoe. Ball up your fist and balance the shoe on top. Do the movement. It's important to keep your arm vertical and maintain tension to protect your shoulder. I learned this from Pavel Tsatsouline.

Or a dumbbell would work for a even weight distribution while you're learning the form. The kettlebell really engages more of that core to keep stabilized but if you don't know the form you can really mess yourself up

The "Turkish get up" movement was discovered by retired Turkish SAT commando "Namik Ekin" and his friend "Özdemir". Namık Ekin is also a contestant in 24 different branches. He holds eighteen (18) unbroken Guinness records. Despite the age of eighty, he continues to try to record records, including records such as skydiving and being buried in a coffin and fed only with water for seven (7) days.
