I once heard: The purpose of life is to give life a purpose. :-)
I'll note it down
My purpose is to make people happy and be a good person and help others
Our purpose is to be in existence to experience life whiles we sail our life to the endless journey of life .
I just do good things and these good actions made me happy,

Great commentary; for me, what brought me out of Christianity was the realization that Christian doctrine and teaching expected me to not create my own purpose but rather to fulfill the purposes of that alleged god I was being told exists and demands my submission to it's whims. It was then that the concept of 'celestial dictator' came to mind even though I didn't hear that notion expressed until Hitchens said what I'd understood for many years.
I was a devout Catholic and after leaving two years ago I had a severe episode of existential depression in part because I didn't know who I was and what I was here for anymore, for years I thought my purpose was to become a priest and follow God's will and my only regret is that I didn't leave this religion earlier than I did.
The version of Catholicism I followed was definitely obsessed with the afterlife and for some going to heaven was the only thing that mattered, all of this reminds me of Marx's remark on religion.

“To get pleasure is male dominated”. The meaning of life is happiness or pleasure. It comes in many forms, like staying away from miserable people.
I tend to laugh at people who ask this question. I just can't help myself, it's as if they're devoid of purpose unless someone else tells them what to do! 😂😂
