I’ve watched Mike Patey use pill ply when epoxying his carbon fiber layups for his airplane parts. I was glad to see you address its usage in building boats. I should get some of that to play with one of these days. On a similar topic, have you ever done anything with epoxy infusion when building boats? UA-camr Throttle Stop Garage was using it to build light weight carbon body panels for his car. I’m curious if it is used or has any application in kayaking building.

I have done infusion on strip boats a couple of times. ua-cam.com/video/AM7BoHJL78g/v-deo.html
      It produced a beautiful layup.

Nick I have the Petrel Play L kit and have read the manual a couple of times. The videos are a excellent addition to the manual. I mentioned before you should develope a DVD for these S&G boats you bulid on the video chapters. Oh that would be helpful! I have built numerious Glen L boats and kayaks and a strip
plank canoe, however these were from plans. Now, the kit is a little different and it is a big help watching these videos. I know you are busy, but the recessed compass on the deck is slick. Come on, just need a drawing and some wood as a kit and then we can add it to the Petrel. Ill take some pictures for you and then you stand back with your thumbs in your armpit and say" Boy that looks good, Im good" 👌Actually your are pretty darn good at this.

The peel ply isn't in the kit. I assume it's not too important and can be omitted?

Correct, I just showed it as an option. Without it, you just do both sides the same like I showed in the first half

@joseignacioalcantara pointed out that there were some choppy bits of the first version of this that I released. Somehow some of the clips got shifted around so the cuts were not happening where they should. Hopefully I caught all the messes. Not that this edit is the cleanest, but it should at least be somewhat coherent.

Drill Fill Drill! The best way to do it by far. Learned this from watching Nick's other excellent videos when I built my own boat.

I do it most of the time unless I just don't feel like it.

I know in the past I have seen you just use clamps and super glue

I never use CA glue alone for structural bonding.
