- Model train layouts, that are called "City Limits", are presenting cities or industrial areas characterized by an incredibly high quality of perfection and reality. And, also this model railway layout built by German modellers in HO scale is pefectly weathered. The diarama presents North Minneapolis in Upper Midwest of the United States, and its scenes of industrial sites. And there is the York Rail, a scene from the eastern United States, its local industries in the city of York in Pennsylvania. Really ingenious Weathering. Please, take a look at www.pilentum.de for more information and for many, many photos.
Thisvis why i love model railroading. Everything bis well detailed all the freight trains 💯 fantastic. Love the CSX .Not sure it's a GP 15 or GP 30 Love the switching duties. ❤ Excellent video.👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This layout is spectacular!!!The detail is outstanding! This is what a Modell railroad should look like.
Very nice detail! Even the trash dumpster was overfilled lol!
The rust, the dirt, the grime...... the finishing touches to a visual feast!
Dull coat and weathering really make a layout come to life. I spray everything with thin India ink. Really adds depth to scenery and shadows pop.
The weathering detail this layout displays is what separates it from most of the rest.
My eyes never get tired.
Very well done!
Nice detail on the rolling stock. So many of these lay outs put so much effort into the diorama, then run trains that look like they are plastic toys. Nice work.
The eye candy factor is off the charts! I love this 👍🏻
Amazing detail, and flawless execution. This layout is a work of art!!!!!
Hey, fantastic scenery!! This level of detail is what we all stride for !
that sullivan scrap car is a long way from home :) great detail and weathering!
Very nice job. Everything looks fantastic. I really thought that you did an excellent job on the trash containers. 👏
Thanks PILENTUM for putting the video online, apreciated!
very nice layout, gives me much inspiration. excellent weathering and scenery detail.
Super model!!!! Mersi PILENTUM!!!!👌👌👌👍👍😁
Just beautiful and remarkable modelling. Bravo.
Great video !!!! , probably the best layout video out there , the video's on Bob Rivard's SOO LINE 1977 layout is very impressive as well , the weathering and detail on your layout is a benchmark on how a layout and it's detail should be done , thank you for sharing .
Excellent video photography of a Masterpiece! Thank you very much.
I love model trains, love watching your video..... what I loved the most was seeing the SOO Bandits on your layout.
Very nice layout and trains ! Great weathering ! Thanks for sharing ! Martin
amazing detail
Outstanding, I can't wait to build my layout!
Great video! I love your attention to detail that some many overlooks..
very nice weathering on the rollingstock
Awesome layout!
Great job on the video I enjoyed watching
Thank you for sharing
Cheers Ron
This video is amazing and one of the best I have seen. So much detail but one thing has been overlooked and that is the semi trailer doesn't get parked on asphalt as it will punch holes through it.
thanks! to be honest, it's those comments I received over the last 15 years which resulted in the work you see. Without constructiove critism, what could be done better or what is not actually realistic, I wouldn't be able to improve the skills and get it to that level. So thanks again to you David Barrera and everybody not shy of speaking up to when they spot something :D
Very impressive attention to detail, well done!
Great job super details and operation.. Thanks for sharing
Great detail and weathering...!
that is one realistic train and layout
It's all been said already but MAN!!! your weathering and graffiti are spectacular!
love your " City Limits"
such a very very nice layout my friend.
Very nice,good job
Das ist wunderbar ! Litauen
Awesome
Very good, very realistic, to be perfect why don't you use natural light when recording ?
Nice video! Excellent layout! One constructive criticism: the CSX locomotive and the Sullivan Scrap Holyoke MA gondola seem out of place. The CSX railroad only extends as far west as Chicago and St Louis; the gondola would deliver scrap steel to a steel mill and Minneapolis is not known for having steel mills.
Edward, very good explanation! But note, this layout was built by German model railroaders.
@@pilentum Yes, and they've outdone themselves and created a very realistic layout!
Especially like the loading dock ledge supported by RR rails.
Wow just Wow absolutely amazing just fabulous outstanding Job you have a lot of talent keep up.the good work looking forward to seeing more i subscribed to your channel also 😊😊
Great job on the filming, the layout or both? :P
Brilliant, video, well done! Can you give me (us) a link with more info or photos of this layout? Thanks a lot!
Photos and info at www.pilentum.org
Thanks, but I already found those photos. Can you tell me where this layout is from and who build it, I would love to see more of it.
Very impressive! I just subscribed also.
brilliant video and incredible work. What are the dimensions? I'm thinking of doing something similar
+Blake Padilla
Thank you. Dimensions: 0.8 meter x 4.0 meter
Depends :D The 4 sections of York Rail are each 90cm x 40cm, the Minneapolis parts are all 50cm deep and mostly 100cm long. The way to interconnect two different types is due to an adopted FREMO NAI norm.
Funny some of the most detailed, impressive, realistic HO scale North American layouts are modeled by Europeans? This one is flawless. Just look at Model Railroader magazine and you will see a couple of Europeans who are at the top of the ladder in modeling American rail, and this is right there with them.
because Americans are lazy and don't want to build anything. Reason there's more "I gawt thius Bakmen oval trakc fur sell" "$400 or bettur offur"
@@AbelG8781 Not all americans are lazy. But I will agree some people dont give a layout it's full potential.
Where do you get the switch visible at @4:00 ?
Ok,time for some further infos....the "layout" actually was composed togehter for the convention out of two home layouts. As "plentum2 mentioned one part was 'North Minneapolis" build by me and is based on an industrial area along the Mississippi .Part two is "York Rail" created by Denis A.Tne SOO/CP units the gons are belonging to my section and were all weathered and detail by me...the hoppers with the outstanding graffiti are Denis'work.Unfortunaly his great detailed York Rail CF7s were not in evidence in this movie....The CSX GP was only guest unit.....
What did you use to make the scrap metal in the gons?
Are you known as "Frank" on the "Rust Bucket forum"?under the Camden Line posting?
Yep!. CSX rules!Lol. Great video dude.
Is there any place where I can find more inf and pictures of the Minneapolis layout? It looks incredible!
Sorry, I don't know any website.
+1 sub great video
amazing weathering did you do it?
Well, yes, not all, but a lot The York Rail Part is mine, int he video you see guest CSX material siwtching on the layout. The Minneapolios Part is by Frank M.
Im your 15,101 sub
