Wonderful US model railroad layout in HO scale

- This model train layout in HO scale was built by German modellers. There are three different landscapes covering the whole model railway layout. Question: Why would German modellers be interested in American railroads?

The scenery was absolutly fantastic, really loved the detail. The train were great too, but i agree with crazy7997 its a bit too clean. Otherwise thumbs up to you!!!

Possibly yes, but even with these sharper curves this must be such a large layout, way larger than mine.

Its too bad, i feel like that plus high speeds really take away from the realism

I just got back into HO.I love model trains but their so expensive i rarely buy them.
Find a local club where you can get some time with trains. Visit swap meets and check ebay, some great deals to be had!

model rail roaring is the best hobby to do
since so many people picked on this amazing layout I will try to make my statement as polite as possible. Actually I just have a couple of observations I guess. One is that when a train stops to allow another to pass it stops rather abruptly. The other thing I noticed was that the container train had 20 footers top stacked. I could be wrong but I don't think any railroad allows 20's on top. I hope you take my comments as being constructive. keep up the great work.
PILENTUM As I said it truly is an amazing layout. My comments weren't meant to detract from it one bit. Simply an observation and I wanted to point them out as it may add to your enjoyment.

There is a signal connected to a sensor on the tracks. It's the easiest way of digital model railroading (DCC).

I'm surprised the Amtrak train stopped I thought it pass the signal and crash into another train or derail and the the layouts owner would blame it on the driver of the train and say he fell asleep at the control's

me and my grampa owned and operated a train layout call the clickatat and western wich opened back in 86. i closed recently after my grampa lost his sight and closed earlyer this year. some of the trsins and cars i scavenged for but mostky every thing was gone ;[
why do the Amtraks stop there's no station!?
it's a very nice layout but it's too clean. need to add dirt and grime plus graffiti here and there.

Terrible detail, no weathering on the trains
The scenery is well thought out and constructed but then you run an obviously toy train through it and nothing looks real. Every piece of rolling stock is fresh plastic, unmarred and looks like it just came out of the dishwasher. Railroads are grubby, dirty, graffiti covered and often look like they are about to fall to pieces. And most model trains are run like a 4 year old rides a tricycle, as fast as it will stay upright. Trains do not run through a town at 90 miles an hour..... models need to be run at scale speeds.
John Criswell my thoughts exactly. Way to clean and starts and stops way to fast. Normally wouldn't say anything about it but when you're dealing with a world-class model it seems a little odd to skip the truly important details at the end.
