@@jibjorkl I agree Ice with Ice very less friction, but this is a very big circle, and it can touch each other at a big enough surface(although friction is not influenced by area of contact theoretically, ) , so with balls as bearings it will only touch at few points.

Can you use some partly(mostly ) submerged balls ( like 6" wide) in between the channel, so it acts like a ball bearing .
