THANK YOU!!!! Omg, I’ve stayed away from yarn dreads because I only knew the braid method and just remember the process taking SO LONG. Oh my goodness. Thank you!!
Yeah you definitely should boy have to braid the hair first. I've never heard of that before and that not how it's done in Africa and it puts wayyyy too much tension on your hair.... glad you found this video. How she doing it is how we've always done it. It should be done in no time
I just wanted to tell you that i've done yarn locs in the past but this method makes it much easier and i'm enjoying this install-going by much faster-Thanks!!!!
Disclaimer: Acrylic may irritate your scalp. Mine burned so I need to use cotton :) just a heads up, if you have sensitive skin you should go for cotton.
Got my yarn and I’m ready to install... Thanks for for showing this method to wrap the hair instead of braiding it first it’s save time. Thanks for sharing😀
Wish I would have seen this video last week. Saves a lot of time without having to braid first! I am prepared for my next installment! I’m subscribing now, thank you! 🥰
I feel like UA-cam has been hiding your video from me. I had these done one time and it's like nobody's ever heard of them before. This is exactly exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you for this video! I'm going to share it with all of my sisters and friends. Have you seen them done any larger? Is there a way to get larger ones to look good?
Oh wow, I'm so glad my video helped you and thanks for watching. I've never seen them done bigger but I think if you double the amount of yarn used for one braid it should work just fine. I would actually love to try that one day.
Hi, usually they get more flexible with time. Like about 2 weeks they should fall more and be easier to maneuver. Sure, I can make a video on that. I'll have to experiment though because I hardly ever wash mine when I have them because yarn get extremely heave when wet. Thanks for watching💛
Lol girl, I do my own hair all the time so I'm used to it. I do have those moments when I get tired and want to give up but then I take a break, go do something else for a while then come back and continue.
Hi, so glad you're gona try it😃 Oh girl, the back of the head is always really tricky. Thats the part I have the most trouble with but just make sure you're in a very comfortable sitting position while doing the back because your arms will hurt.
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 thanks! I have one that has come loose and my hair is showing through some. Otherwise they are doing okay! I'm planning my next set and prolly going to loc my hair first then wrap
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 I found that out the hard way lol thanx for responding so quick Honestly i perfer the braids i do 4 strands yes small lol but love I used to dye my hair all the time because i just love color in my hair so this switch up is so much nicer and less damaging
Awww...no problem. Im glad you found something that works for you. I try not to do locs too much now because im trying to watch out for those struggle edges lol
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 Yes ive been enjoying for about half a yr now Switched to braids about 3-4 months ago digging them alot better without the annoying itchingness too u get for weave cant stand that

Does the cotton cause the hair to loc under the style?
Thank you! Your saving me a lot of time, no more braids for me.
Lol you're welcome! I'm glad you found this helpful.

This is brilliant!!!
Do you have any trouble with the locs slipping after the fact using this method? I'm going to try it this weekend.
Hi. No it doesnt slip or move at all. Very secure method.
Excellent video - very helpful. Thank you..
Thank you for watching and You're very welcome🙂
I like this! When you do this does the hair lock up along with the yarn?
Hi, no the hair doesnt lock up. Its just wrapped up with the yarn. I'm glad you liked it🙂
Wow 😍 I should have seen this earlier.
Lol its ok. You can use it now❤
@@complexionfordarkskin2306 definitely 💪
Really cool!
thanks for sharing i we try it
How can we make the locs more flexible after they are in? Will it get flexible after washing also can you do a video on washing and how you dry them.

You’re a genius .. thanks
You're welcome!
How did you keep going when you were tired and wanted to give up? Was there a point when you were like “these locs are taking forever I just can’t”?
Lol girl, I do my own hair all the time so I'm used to it. I do have those moments when I get tired and want to give up but then I take a break, go do something else for a while then come back and continue.
Thank you sister! I was about to start on these braids in dread (pun intended).
You're very welcome. I love that pun😂

@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 are the yarn locs heavy?and how locs did you put on?
Hi, no they were not heavy but if you make them longer they will be. I'm not sure exactly how many locs I put in.
Okay thanks
Best ..doing mine tomorrow
Oh great. Lemme know how it turns out.
You are amazing my dear.l like it
Yessss sis love it thanks sis
You're so very welcome and thanks for watching.
Thank You so much for this video 🔥🔥
You're very welcome🙂 Thanks for watching.
I was trying this method but it kept getting thin at the end thanks for this video! ❤️
You're very welcome dear🙂
I have long hair so how many strands of yarn do you think I need to use?
It really depends on how thin or thick you want your locs to be though.
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 I want them to be pencil size.
Then I recommend you use two strands for the base and three strands to wrap. Hope that helps🙂
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 thanks
Mine are not staying tight! How do I keep them from unraveling
Hi dear, you wana make sure you're wrapping it extremely tight and pushing up as you go or else they might unravel.
@@ruthieslevelupjourney4830 thanks! I have one that has come loose and my hair is showing through some. Otherwise they are doing okay! I'm planning my next set and prolly going to loc my hair first then wrap
ive noticed my locs are more secure when i overlap a bit as i wrap them down
char g . What do you mean by overlap? Do you wrap the yarn twice at the same point? I’m worried about them slipping out too .
How do you keep it from slipping at the root?
I wrap it around the root twice before moving on.
Hey , how long did it take ?
Hi, It look me 2 days to complete.
Lol yup, that was with me taking a break in between tho. I'm sure if I didn't stop I would have finished sooner.
How long can I keep them in?
I kept mine in for a month
l love your top work video ❤✌✌👍👍👍✌✌❤
When i did locs before braiding first then rapping it pulled my edges out lol horrible but true
Do u have this problem?
Yes, you have to be really careful with the edges when it comes to locs because they tend to be heavy sometimes.
