  • Hello everyone,
Today I'm making a very easy and fun appetizer Thai Firecracker Shrimp. This is a very easy appetizer to make and it's also a crowd pleaser. Pair it with my Yum Yum/Shrimp sauce and everyone will be asking for more. I hope you give this recipe a try and if you do, please comment down below.
    Thai Firecracker Shrimp
    Ingredients:
    • 30 Large/Jumbo size shrimp
    • 30 small spring roll wrappers
    • ½ tbsp fish sauce
    • ½ tbsp oyster sauce
    • 1 tsp seasoning soy sauce
    • ½ tsp red curry paste
    • ½ tsp chicken bouillon powder
    • ½ tsp sugar
    • 1/8 tsp black pepper
    Flour mixture to seal wrappers:
    • 2 tsp of flour/corn starch
    • 1 tsp water
    Directions:
    • Peel and devein shrimp or buy already peeled and devein shrimp. Wash and dry the shrimp.
    • Make small slits/cuts along the belly side of the shrimp making sure not to cut too deep. Flip the shrimp right side up and press down to straighten the shrimp out. Place on a platter and set to the side.
    • In a small bowl, mix all the seasoning together well.
    • Brush the seasoning mixture on the top of the shrimp then refrigerate.
    • Remove the wrappers from the packaging and peel the wrappers onto a small plate, cover with a cloth towel to prevent from drying.
    • Mix the flour and water in a small bowl to create a paste for sealing the wrappers.
    • Place a wrapper on a flat surface with a corner facing you, fold the left corner of the wrapper in to form a straight side. Place a shrimp on the straight with the tail towards the bottom of the wrapper.
    • Take the bottom corner and fold over the shrimp and tuck then roll up halfway. Fold in the right corner as close to the shrimp as possible and continue rolling until you get to the edge. Wet the corner with the flour mixture before rolling all the way to seal the corner.
    • Place the rolled shrimp onto a platter to the side. Repeat until all shrimps has been rolled.
    • Deep fry the shrimps in oil set at around 325 degrees F for about 3-4 minutes. Drain on a wire rack or paper towel.
    • Serve while hot with my yum yum sauce/shrimp sauce.
