- During our Kagoshima trip we visited Sakurajima volcano (桜島火山) island. It takes around 15 minutes with a ferry from Kagoshima port(鹿児島港). The main attraction on the island are the rivers of frozen lava which are part of the Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park (霧島錦江湾国立公園). It was very interesting to walk on the Nagisa Lava Trail (溶岩なぎさ遊歩道). There is even a public foot spa (足湯) with hot water in the begining with the lava trail. It was one of the our most beautiful experiences during the summer trip! Follow us on twitter:

Considering the piano - she never studied before. She had only a small melodica, also known as pianica, blow-organ or key-flute. The "Ode of Joy" she tried to play at the end - she simply heard it somewhere and she tried to reproduce it on her own with the piano.

There was huge eruption on 18th of August. We bought the tickets on 16th of August:)
We were considering to give up but after all the volcano was one of the main attractions of this trip.
So finally we went and we were not sorry - it was really fun:)

An absolutely great video. The more I see of Japan the more I would love to live there.
The energy children have is amazing, but I guess I was the same as a kid. I could ride my bicycle for miles and not become exhausted. Now a few hundred meters would wear me out.
Re: A previous video, Maya really did good at the piano. Has she had any actual lessons yet? Or did she learn what she did on her own.

I ran into a recent video and looked into your channel timeline to find the history of these incredible kids (trilingual I presume), clearly from incredible parents (German or that area of EU I presume). Great job in raising those fabulous kids, you must be very proud of them. :D
Thank you very much! Maya was truly trilingual (Japanese, English, Polish). Alex understands Polish and some Japanese but his main language is English. Yes we are from EU - their mom is from Poland (quite close to Germany) and me from Bulgaria (the Mediterranean area).
I believe Maya has a natural talent toward music. And as I inquired or mentioned in one of my earlier video comment's. That she displayed a high level of intelligence. Which you confirmed.
Linhdan my grand daughter was exactly the same way. She could read and write in her own Vietnamese language and I think pretty good in English. All before even starting first grade at school. She was allowed to skip Kindergarten I believe.

Joseph Lau It is a nice city - not as touristic as Tokyo or Kyoto but still we liked it very much!
Actually our favorite places in Japan are the less touristic one! :)

was there in 1987 on a japan rail pass. stayed at the hostel on sakurajima. i dont know if it is still there memoires
There is still a big hotel complex just next to the lava park. May be it is the same one. It is still well maintained! We'll go back one day if it is possible.
