I have a 24 year old grandson that has Tourette’s, OCD, ADHD and Asperger’s. He graduated from Georgia Southern University last December with an IT degree. He will attend George Mason University the end of August with his master’s degree. It has been a struggle but he’s done it!!!

Parents want the best for their kids. I battled with my daughter for two years after she graduated HS because she was struggling to get off the ground with college. Terrible grades and dropping classes. Then one day a young lady came into my office at the bank. She was looking to purchase Ted first home after graduating from nursing school and landing a great job. We chatted for a bit and I mentioned my daughter was thinking of nursing school but I was worried it would never happen. The new nurse said “try backing off and giving her space. You taught her well now it’s time to offer support when needed but let her figure things out for herself. She explained she too had a couple “false starts” before figuring out what she wanted. I decided to try taking her advice and she was 100% on point. My daughter floundered for another year but worked at the hospital and learned about the different jobs. She decided to pivot and go to respiratory therapy school instead. She’s doing great now. She loves her job, having the freedom to move around the entire hospital instead of being stuck on the same unit all the time like nurses and make a fantastic living. I’ll pray your parents will relax a bit and give you the space to figure out what you want. Tell them to read my comment 😉
Ben you are able to remember so many things. You knowledge base seems to be expansive. You are obviously a very intelligent young man. It is great how you help out your grandpa and are willing to work to earn money. Keep up the good work and try not to doubt yourself. Slow and steady wins he race. I was always told that part of college was figuring out what you wanted to do the rest of your life. I started in nursing and ended in Psychology. Hang in there and enjoy your time in school and with your grandparents and family and traveling. You will figure it out.

Im maybe an hour and a half north of yall. It gets very hit and humid and the storms our coast can get are no joke. It's difficult to be outside in this heat for very long, we've got to be careful. I love your content. When you're helping someone in your family or letting us see your vacations or keeping us informed on how things are going during the weather. Your perspective on things is great content. I love your goals, very exciting. Meteorology is very interesting. When I was growing up in school, I had problems focusing and reading. Back then there wasn't enough education on ADD. Several years later, I was trying to study for a vocation and I went to my dr and discovered that I had it. Medication really helped, I totally understand. Your education is very important. If its a true passion for you, keep on trucking. Finish your degree, then start a new one. As a parent, I would suggest not really taking too much time off because you might not ever go back. But you do you. Your current education is very interesting and I hope we can get to see some of the ins and outs of your career. Thanks Ben. 🙏🙏

Im maybe an hour and a half north of yall. It gets very hit and humid and the storms our coast can get are no joke. It's difficult to be outside in this heat for very long, we've got to be careful. I love your content. When you're helping someone in your family or letting us see your vacations or keeping us informed on how things are going during the weather. Your perspective on things is great content.
I love your goals, very exciting. Meteorology is very interesting. When I was growing up in school, I had problems focusing and reading. Back then there wasn't enough education on ADD. Several years later, I was trying to study for a vocation and I went to my dr and discovered that I had it. Medication really helped, I totally understand. Your education is very important. If its a true passion for you, keep on trucking. Finish your degree, then start a new one. As a parent, I would suggest not really taking too much time off because you might not ever go back. But you do you. Your current education is very interesting and I hope we can get to see some of the ins and outs of your career. Thanks Ben. 🙏🙏

Ben it is nice to see you back online. Hey don't knock what you are doing. Set yourself a path and go for it. The one thing I regret in life is not finishing school at a younger age. I am 56 now and back in college and graduating in 2025.
