  • I look at the Campark TC06 dual lens trail camera with starlight night vision.
Unfortunately it has completely underwhelmed me! The low light video is poor and the camera keeps fogging up on the outside for no apparent reason.
When it works the video quality is very good but it is too erratic for me. Also, it can be powered by Camparks own solar panel but it is only available for sale in the US, no good for us Brits!
Watch the video and make up your own mind, if you still want to give it a try this is the link.

Car windows often mist up due to the weather conditions on the outside of the glass.November can have lots of moisture in the air so maybe the camera isn’t at fault and it’s just what happens at certain times of the year. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for your review. I'm uncertain about motion activated sensors. How far can they generally detect motion? If the camera is set up to take a picture every 10 seconds (approximately) can the motion detect be in effect at the same time? If the camera is activated due to motion (say a fox walks into view) how long will it record if the fox stands still? If you could address any of these questions it would be great interest to me. I have a critter that digs in my back yard at night and I would like to get a trail camera to see what it is. Thanks for posting.

The specifications say the pirs can detect up to 20 meters. If the camera is in time lapse mode taking a photo at a set interval then the pirs don’t work. The camera will continue to record from 5 to 180 seconds after activation depending upon your choice of setting.

Just guessing are the internals warmer that the externals ? - could cause misting ?

I have a toguard which looks like exactly the same model as this but with a different name! And yours has 2 cameras. Mine has exactly the same problem with misting up. I am thinking about getting the ceyomur c95 solar panel one, but in your video for that it has the same menu as these 2! Are they all the same company but different names, also did the ceyomur mist up?

    • @garyhuston
      @garyhuston  Рік тому

They all look the same, the Ceyomur is the only one I use now as they are pretty faultless

Concerning the camera lens fogging up. Have you tried placing the camera in a different location to see if it affects the problem? Possibly being under/near the tree has some bearing on it happening? I have a condensation problem in my shop when the overnight temperature drops and then warms up quickly. The heavier steel tools can't warm up as fast as the surrounding air so they stay cold and condensation forms on them. Possibly a quick change of temp is leading to fogging? I'm no expert, just offering some alternatives to consider if you haven't already.

I haven't tried moving it because on the tree is where i want it! If you listen to the video you will hear me say that there is no sudden change in temperature, it. has been pretty stable in that respect although quite cold. Other reviews of this camera seem t be in hot countries, I haven't seen one done in cold weather.

I bought two Garde Pro A3S cameras via Amazon although I sent one back because of an audio interference fault. I am however very pleased with the picture/video quality although I accept that stills of a moving animal will be blurred as the shutter speed is 1/30s on all of these trail cameras and the IR 'flash' is lingering so I generally set it to record video only.
I then bought two of these Campark TC06 because of the specs and the good reviews. I have to say that I was disappointed with the lack of activations compared to the A3S cameras. Also, one very significant point, in my opinion, that does not appear to be mentioned in any of the reviews is that when the camera is triggered in IR mode, two very bright red LEDs glow from each lens which gives the appearance of very menacing red eyes. These cameras are NOT covert. I am not talking about a dull IR glow from the series of LEDs but two very BRIGHT red lights glowing on activation. If this does not alarm the wildlife it certainly exposes the camera's location which may increase any risk of damage or theft.
The quality of images is however excellent although I did experience lens fogging in one of the cameras. I have never had this on any other trail cam. The jury is still out on my Campark TC06s but I will be getting a replacement Garde Pro A3S as this is great quality, good activation, and covert.
Update: I purchased 2 from Amazon UK and I return the first due to the lens fogging issue. I also reviewed the product with 3-stars due to fogging and lack of covertness due to BRIGHT red lights activating at night. I was then constantly pestered by Campark to amend my review to 4 or 5-stars or delete it. They offered me money!

I have been using trail cameras for years now of varying price ranges, but nothing too exotic. most instructions advise mounting the camera slightly tilting downward, ( from your shots I think that your camera is tilting upward) I have always done this because I think that this prevents any moisture settling on the lens, In extreme placements (waterside locations etc.) I have blue-tacked a plastic coffee cup over the lens with good effect, shortening it if necessary if it interferes with the shot. The trigger speed has nothing to do with the shutter speed which explains the blur on moving targets. I think that I will go ahead with purchasing one.

Did you do the firmware upgrade. I'm guessing that's your problem. Also when using Class 10 memory. Get U3, not U1. The U1 takes longer to start up from sleep.

Unfortunately all trail cameras have an issue of fogging on the outside lens
The only way around this would
by heating trail cam so the water will not be able to condense.
This would be way too energy-intensive and kill battery

10 seconds is never enough, I set it for 20 seconds, 🙂
Campark do one with a solar panel which is great, this one definitely is not a starlight camera, they video in colour at night,
