- Day two didn't go off without a hitch, so this video is a great learning tool. We cover the process in detail of setting up the plan and when we ran into issues, we helped explain what happened and why and solutions to the issue. Enjoy.

2:52 Learning about Star Walk App (optional)
6:05 Finding Objects by Name or Number in Seestar App
7:37 Framing (Mosaic Mode) the Problem comes later in the video
9:12 Setting the Imaging Times on an Object
14:50 Deleting a previously added object
20:06 Gaps in your schedule Plan
20:28 Battery work around to ensure battery through the night
21:31 Problem #1 object goes above (or below) recommended degree lines
22:21 Autofocus during the plan
22:48 object rose above 70-80 degree line
23:26 Restarting a stopped plan
23:54 Restarting loses previous capture data of your plan
27:40 Resolved Problem #1
27:52 Stopping plan and restarting created a new problem
28:29 Mosaic mode and time delaying objects (field of rotation issue)
30:13 autofocus problem with a stopped plan and a fix solution
31:34 Battery pack results, did it keep the Seestar charged?
32:00 Auto close of the arm when plan finishes
32:24 results of our imaging
This is an excellent addition to the app. It is true if the object exceeds 85° altitude the scope is unable to reliably track.
I agree! It will give me a better chance to gather exposures for better stacking images and more objects that may be available when we are sleeping! It's going well so far! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
@@thecollegegateway - I saw the update included this but I imaged manually. I like how they implemented scheduling. It is extremely easy & intuitive. ZWO should include an option to autofocus between targets. For me normally once I am in focus it stays in focus for the duration of the night, but if there are large temperature swings it may be an issue. One thing I have found useful is, if you intend on a long session on a single target, select the framing option & just boost it to 1.1. Even if the target does not require framing, this seems to eliminate the field rotation. Another nice thing about the scheduling is we can duplicate the session & extend a mosaic session over multiple nights. I appreciate your video on scheduling & look forward to the next clear night.
@ - I meant to ask you this before. When it went to the first target, did the telescope do the normal horizontal calibration, dark frames, & initial autofocus on its own?
@ Good input! I would like them to do autofocus regularly with the option to turn that off for those who don't like using autofocus! My eyes aren't great so I rely on it to do a better job than I can do so having it do it regularly during the imaging would be nice. Nice solution for the framing and rotation I'll have to try!
@ Yes it did do the normal calibrations like usual. But because I stopped the plan and tried to resume it when the object went out of range I think it adjusted the focus which required me to stop the plan again and autofocus. Probably wouldn't have had to do this if I had just let it run through the period of time it was dropping exposures.
Hi - Another great video - many thanks for pointing out the problem with objects near/at their peak altitude. Only thing that I would like from ZWO is an option to autofocus automatically before each image run when planning, but as it is, what a brilliant scope - really enjoying using it - when we eventually get clear skies!!! (from a VERY cloudy Wales, UK)!
Thanks for watching! I agree with the autofocus issue! Welcome from the UK!
Are these images only saved in the See Star? If so, I find that they are not as good as those that are saved using the AI noise reduction. Much better images can then be processed in Gimp etc.
Yes, only in Seestar. No other post processing.
no denoising either, just straight off the stacked files in the Seestar app. So you're right, they aren't as good of images as any that are post processed. That wasn't the idea of this video so we included the actual results.
@@thecollegegateway Thanks for the reply, you answered my question.
