    I learned CFOP first and am learning Roux right now. In comparison there are few good Roux tutorials out there. And I find yours to be the best when it comes to "pure" Roux. Most tutorials are Roux for CFOP solvers and alike. Especially the first two blocks are then solved like F2L which kinda is not the point. Love this series!

    I love Roux cause it requires less Algorithms! CFOP is just insane!
    Also, M and U moves only for last step is satisfying to watch!

    Just had the greatest solve ever. I've been focusing on block building more than CMLL and oh man am i getting good. I had 1st block in 6 moves, second block in 8, had my UF edge on the bottom so i decided to put my UB edge down there during LSE, Did AUF to open the middle, and solved with an M2U2M2 it felt so good. All because of these videos you're great man

    I learned Roux my own way, but I got stuck right around 30 seconds. From watching your video, I learned to always put the any color block on the left and then set up the right block while inserting the DR edge. I also learned the insertion where if the right side color is up regarding the corner-edge pair, then I use r' U' r or r U r'. That was the insertion I was looking for. I learned full CMLL in a week or so. I am also studying LSE to get more efficient. I'm going to get to sub 20 one day because I'll keep digging until I do. Thanks for your wisdom.

    I find Roux interesting from a technical standpoint given that it’s an even 2phase solution in a way
    F2B solves exactly 4 corners and 6 edges and L10P does the same.
    No other method does this, they basically always end up with more pieces solved in the first half.
    I believe that Roux could be the future for human 2phase solving, getting as close as possible to CPU solutions. The steps are fairly simple and easily influence one another while keeping symmetry/balance on the cube.

    • @dakevinmg
      @dakevinmg 6 років тому

      Tolga Kantarcı Hmm. Maybe it’s because Roux solves more pieces in the last steps than other methods? Probably also has to deal with the fact that Roux does closer to “direct solving” of the last pieces while other methods solve all the final pieces at once but in phases (ie solving LL, 8 pieces, all at once using OLL/PLL)

    2 questions,
    Are you going to Best in the West? If you are, you better be taking the OH WR back. :) Rouxvolution
    Second of question,
    I was messing around with roux yesterday. I was at LSE, and had just finished orienting the edges (all edges yellow and white are up or down), I was about to solve the R/L U piece, but I got a U perm. In this case would you do the U permutation (CFOP), or keep going with solving the UR and UL edge and then last 4 edges?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  6 років тому +1

      Yep I'm going to BiTW. Yes in this case I would do a U perm but ideally you want to do the last move of your EO in a way that one of the UL UR edges ends up on bottom. This will completely avoid PLLs and cancel moves

    Hello Kian!
    I'm watching you from Poland and still cant believe you're 18. I'm pushing 30 next year (hope its not too late to learn speedcubing lol).
    I would like to ask you a question and hope you could answer.
    I'm super noob at cubing in general (doing first block in 20 seconds does not make me proud - I practice this for 3 days now). How long should I be doing the whole process (all the steps starting from blue block) to consider moving towards more advanced planning and color neutral solves? Should I be solving blue block first until I can solve the whole cube this way in sub-30 or something?

    • @bguy510
      @bguy510 5 років тому

      I'm not Kian, but the general guideline about color neutrality is that the earlier you start, the easier it is. There's really no reason to stick to blue until you do x seconds, go ahead and start solving on different colors.
      That said, I assume you know this, but in case not: always leave either white or yellow on bottom, it is unnecessary and overwhelming to go any further, even at a high level. Also, I'd recommend doing just white bottom first until you're comfortable with that, then implementing yellow bottom as well.

      @@bguy510 Thanks for your answer! I'll definitely try it out. The more I dig into speedcubing, the more I'm stunned by how open and kind the community is! It only makes me more and more confident that cubing in general is just great

      @_sqrrl3299 5 років тому +1

      With the method he explains... yes f2l would be faster. But forget about this and the first tutorial and solve the blocks on your own, completely intuitive. You will realise, that there are many possibilities of doing the blocks wich are mostly even faster than f2l, because you still have the m-slice. + you would need a cube rotation for the most f2l cases, wich is exactly what roux tries to avoid.

  • @gemgem3280

    Just 2 questions rrrr youu readyy???
    2 can we just find a f2l pair for both?

    • @_sqrrl3299
      @_sqrrl3299 5 років тому

      You can but... you would need a cube rotation (wich is exactly what you try to avoid in Roux) for the most f2l cases.

      1 year with very good practice, no experience can get you to 15 - 20 seconds, dont be surprised if you dont get it

      Not really, this is just a beginner way of doing it. You're going to want to learn more flexible ways of doing it pretty quickly
