Looks awesome, and offers great performance, amazing idea overall. The price was a shock, but the more you think about it, the more sense it makes, especially compared to something like a c8. The c8 Zora or whatever it's called is projected to have around 800-900 hp, the same as this. It's going to be a hybrid, so it'll almost certainly weigh more than the current zo6 by a good margin, I'm guessing it'll weigh about 3,600-3,700 lbs. This with all the carbon fiber is probably around 3,000. A zo6 is already about 130k starting, and can easily jump into the 200s. So I'm willing to be the zora will start at about 250k if not more. Over 300 with options. So if you compare this car to like a base c8, it doesn't seem like a great value. But if you look at it as like a zora rival, it suddenly makes a lot of sense.

Id say since Ford already proved that a sub $100,000 GT500 can beat a $332,000 Lamborghini Hurican Evo around a 4.1 mile lightning lap then you can expect the GTD to hold its own regardless of the fact that it's called a Mustang. Many are not even aware of how good the Mustang GT500 is and it has zero chance of keeping pace with the new GTD yet both are Mustang badge.
I can't wait to see what the trickle down innovations might be...IF they keep the ICE vehicles around for a decade or two more. Hope so. Also, I hope they gave the steering more feel than is in the regular GT.
Comparing the Mustang GT3 weight allowed in IMSA with the allowed 600 horsepower using a 5 4 Coyote based engine. I'm guessing the GTD will weigh around 2900 lbs. One item Ford mentioned was the horsepower as 800 plus. When the $500,000 Ford GT Supercar wss offered. Many complained that it used a 3.5 cu in EcoBoost with 647 horsepower. After winning it's class at LeMans and other tracks across the US. The BOP reduced the GTs horsepower why while increasing it's weight. It continued it's success until they kept penalizing the GT so Ford pulled the racing plug. Now that $500,000 street version of the Ford GT is selling for over 1 million dollars. I believe the Mustang GTD will also be an excellent investment Mustang Supercar. I know the Ford GT LeMans winning driver Joey Hand has been testing the GTD. It will be interesting seeing if Ford can run a sub 7 minute lap. I wish them the best of luck

People bitching about the price go look at the cost of a gt3 race car. So just to break it down the full suspension is at least 75k if you bought it out right completely assembled. The Predator motor alone cost 28k, the trans in this vehicle being a dual clutch has to be expensive given ford didn't drop the brand or the model most likely it is either they partnered with a company or it is the exact same one in the GT3 car. The carbon fiber body let's say that cost 15 grand. Not to add the magnesium rims full titanium exhaust. It sounds stupid to think of a mustang that's 300k but GT500 track packs have sold for 150k this car is 40+ more hp with better suspension brakes active areo and is going to be much lighter. This car in my opinion should weigh around 3200 pounds if that's the case, it would weigh around 700 pounds lighter than the GT500 with 40 more hp. I get it, it's alot of money but it has a ton of technology from the Ford GT at 200k cheaper.

I'm guessing it'll be in the low 6:50 time frame. A gt 350 r with a worse chassis, tires, brakes, a manual transmission, less down force, and 300 less HP laps the ring in like 7:20.
It’s a race car dude, i’m sure the brilliant engineers at Ford know more than you do in regards to why the wing beneficial for the car. If you want to beat the GT3 RS, you have to engineer a wing that is similar to the GT3 RS… Everything about this car is ridiculously awesome.

Its probably worth about $200-250 tops in my opinion! Ford is charging what they wanna charge because it will be highly limited production prob around 1000-1500 units tops! Butt and i mean Butt we all know it wont go for $300! Dealers will probably be marking them up to $350-400K easy then it totally becomes not worth it! at that point just get a C8 Z06 for $150-160K or slightly used GT3RS! not worth it in my opinion! I rather hold onto my GT500 HE CFTP! more than enough for me!

The 2 cars are not comparable other than they both have active aero. Plus this isn’t even built by Ford, Porsche builds the GT3 in the same factory as the 911. It’s a great stunt to get some publicity but if you really look this car will never be in a sanctioned race with anything but another GTD.

I think the cost is right on point. A lot went into it if you do a deep dive into the build. Everything about has a purpose for the track. Look what a ugly ass Bugatti cost $18.7 and with a little touch of aftermarket products the 5.2 Ford can match the Bugatti HP and still be under the cost of the Bugatti. It also looks better than a C8 Corvette. Guess we will all have to wait and see what this GTD' is about when we see it in action.

C8 corvette zr1 will be coming out around the same time with similar horsepower for half the cost. 300k for a mustang no thank you. Alot of the UA-camrs will make it seem like its the greatest car so if they get it they can make money in the videos they produce with this way to expensive mustang. Around 130k sure starting at 300k no.
Zora will be very similar in pricing is my guess. The z06 starts at like 130k and easily closes in on 200k with all the options. So take a 200k, add two electric motors, a battery pack, a beefed up transmission, and probably some carbon fiber bits, and you're easily looking at a 300k car. Will probably weigh more than this as well.

At the end of the day it's a beefed up mustang gt with a 300k starting price. The UA-camrs are hyping this car up so they can make money on the views. And we don't know the 0-60 times and quarter mile times only that it's 7 minutes on the track there's a camaro zl1 that does the track in 7 minutes and it's a 70k car. This car is super hyped up without us know anything about it then it's carbon. Alot of us don't go to the track we just like to have a good looking car with good power on the streets. I never taken my cars to the race track alot of us don't.

@@nikosky4028 Also, yeah, a zo6 with all the options is about 190k. So add carbon fiber, more areo parts, different wheels, tires, brakes and suspension, electric motors, and a battery pack, and the zr1 is probably going to be at least 300 grand while being slower than the GTD.
@themidnighttavern6784 z06 with carbon wheels and z07 packages is 138k my brother bought one. there's no z06 from the factory at 190k the zr1 will be 140-150 starting that would destroy this mustang as a zo6 with some minor mods will also beat this. At the end of the day it's a beefed up mustang gt with a 300k starting price. The UA-camrs are hyping this car up so they can make money on the views. And we don't know the 0-60 times and quarter mile times only that it's 7 minutes on the track there's a camaro zl1 that does the track in 7 minutes and it's a 70k car. This car is super hyped up without us know anything about it then it's carbon. Alot of us don't go to the track we just like to have a good looking car with good power on the streets. I never taken my cars to the race track alot of us don't.
Id rather get a base model and build it to my liking or a gt350 build
