No. 1, Have you ever thought what’s best for Riley’s future career other than a professional hockey player? What if she decided to be an astronaut so that she could go to the moon?
No. 2, Did you know that Joy has a purpose of displaying a Bing Bong action figure in her bedroom? Turns out Joy did this to honor Bing Bong as her hero for saving her life in the first movie.
No. 3, When Anxiety spins so fast like a tornado, she’s basically telling Joy to “catch me if you can”. This portrays how anxiety will ruin your life if you let it take over.
And no. 4, Bree initiates her first move that she can forgive Riley. Then, Grace joins in and the three became friends again. Someone like Bree reminds us that a good friend is a friend that forgives.

The moon is metaphorical. Going to the moon was 3 yo Riley's idea of something to dream about, but as she grows up these ideas change. Bing Bong asking Joy to "take Riley to the moon" is really about having aspirations and fulfilling them - which Riley can do without literally being an astronaut.
Now this I really like. I like that this is what Bing Bong means, and I know Joy will do this with Riley’s love for ice hockey and will “take her to the moon”, as being the best hockey player Riley can be. But for Riley and for nobody else. 💜
I straight up told my mom they should make a Disney short ab it.
If riley doesn’t become an astronaut and go to the moon then bing bongs final words would’ve been all for nothing but i know joys got this👍

I feel like “take Riley to the moon for me” is like a figurative expression. I think it means like “take her to new heights”
I portrayed 3 as more of the racing thoughts that come with a panic attack. The tornado is both anxiety pushing harder and harder, working the console overtime, and the inability to see anything clearly as the other emotions are unable to see anything that Riley sees anymore.
Spoilers ahead tho I’m sure ppl knew this
I think this is also what the bad emotions flooding into her belief system represent, in that moment and through that panic attack, every awful thing Riley had done, every suppressed mistake and imperfection came flooding back all at once. These memories changed the way she saw herself, the good blurring in with the bad.
Yeah, I feel like the full change of the belief system is Joy realizing what she told Anxiety: “you don’t get to control Riley” or whatever she said. She finally understands that Riley is not controlled by her emotions and that she is the one who chooses how she sees herself and uses her emotions. The first movie to me was Riley understanding that all of her emotions have a purpose for her well being especially through difficult events. The second movie felt like Riley learning that she can’t let one emotion consume her regardless of perceived value. First movie is struggle between Joy and Sadness until the end when Joy figured out that Sadness is nowhere near harmful to Riley and comes to terms with that. Second movie is Riley experiencing changes around her and within her, causing her to question her sense of self. She changes to fit in until she realizes that it’s not her and goes back. This is where she finally has a control over her emotions, hence the “Joy I think Riley wants you.”
Anxiety is overexhausting and also paralyzing

also that Anxiety moves so fast that it seems to be frozen... that was REALLY accurate for me.. the simultaneous paralysis and hurricane..
Is very interesting to see Riley in her future life to be an astronaut instead of being an ice hockey player. Wait till we see the third part of Inside Out. This is like Riley cares about family and friends in life, so emotional! 😀🙂😊

her panic attack made me sob because it made me realize how much i relate to her anxiety. but everything else is really educational to me and it helps me get thru my anxiety!
I couldn’t manage my anxiety on my own, had to use meds. Been on anxiety meds since around 10, (2011) but about 2 years ago I finally was able to manage my anxiety well enough on my own I no longer need those meds. Stopped getting panic attacks daily and such.

although its important to know that some people dont deserve forgiveness, a good friend forgives when its needed, yes but forgiving everyone can cause problems with people taking advantage of that kindness, its a sad truth that kind people arent treated as they should be

Riley’s Anxiety attack really hit hard. I have to say props to the animators and screenwriters it was so good. Seeing Anxiety moving so fast we can’t even see it, seeing the lone tear slip down her face when she realizes that that her plan wasn’t working, that her plan to help Riley only hurt her, when she saw she failed. Ouch. Also yea I love Bree. Yes, Riley was kinda a jerk. But Bree forgave her still which is so amazing. Despite not truly understanding the struggles Riley was having, she still forgave. We need to be more like Bree
Another sad thing about inside out 2 is that the family island that used to be big is now small.

I’m still around the same age as Riley in the movie and so her panic attack made me almost cry (which I barely do over movies) because of how relatable it was. Definitely one of the best Disney movies to come out recently

I honestly wouldn't call what anxiety did a "catch me if you can" moment. It felt like anxiety was experiencing the panic she was causing Riley. Something I've noticed about anxiety is for most of the movie she was pretty "calm" and "collected". She didn't start actually acting like uncontrollable anxiety till she found out she was hurting Riley. Multiple times during the movie anxiety talks about making a "better Riley" and wanting to "help Riley". I connect with the idea that if our emotions were personified anxiety would think it's helping us to plan ahead and keep us safe. I've often heard therapists and doctors refer to anxiety as " a broken fight or flight response" which was what this anxiety reminded me of, a tool to keep us safe but it's broken.
The panic attack was so so genuine it felt like it was happening to me because it has happened to me before and I feel like that and I understand I connect to this. We watch the movie with my parents and let's just say that at least they understood me better after that movie
And in a inside out 2 book called "Go to Sleep Anxiety" we got to know that joy likes making origami figures
I've long wanted to see Riley become an astronaut, but for the story to keep it subtle that it was from Bing Bong's influence.

That last one was very wholesome, when Bree and Grace chose to forgive Riley, when I felt like my friendship with someone was cut off, I once tried to apologize and they still wouldn’t forgive me, we need friends like Bree and Grace

I just think that when the anxiety attack happened and when joy put rileys 'sense of self' i just think that she started crying was becauss she felt that she lost her friends. In the movie joy says that her sense of self wont let her betray her friends❤
The panic attack scene was so cool and intense to watch. I was with my mom and I have frequent panic attacks and anxiety attacks and my mom always says, “shake it off! You’re not scared, you’re just faking it.”. Right after we left the theater, we couldn’t find our car. I got a mini anxiety attack and she said “Is anxiety on the keyboard?” I laughed and said yes. Legendary movie.

Riley’s panic attack is what brung this movie apart, it shows that life is sometimes hard but theres always some way to fix it, Disney may be having a downfall but Pixar is climbing.
I think the saddest thing in the movie is that 2 of Riley’s best friends decided to go another high school without telling her until the last minute comes

An interesting thing that I (personally) wouldn't have minded seeing is if either Bree or Grace decided at that moment that they needed more time while the other instantly forgave Riley

5. Saddest thing is realizing that Riley is experiencing in losing her friends again when going to different schools as if the first film she left behind her childhood friends was what made her feel upset.
When I was watching inside out two in theaters and and she was having an anxiety attack for some reason I didn’t know what Anxiety was doing so I went “me playing Fortnite” and my bsf slowly looked at me- he was crying. 😓😓

I saw a couple shorts about the movie, it looks mid, but tye while anxiety thing reminded me of Strife by Trivium, so I checked the song and the whole Vengeance falls album and I don't regret it! So many memories are back! Still not watching the movie tho XD
Yeah the third point wasn't about that, it was about how anxiety it's doing a Lot but it's also COMPLETLY paralized, she can't do anything to stop herself but it's also doing a disaster at the same time

Inside Out 3 could be maybe Riley’s has a cousin who has Autism comes to live with her after his parents are killed in an accident. Then they enter the minds of both Riley’s mind and her Cousin minds so they audience can understand both minds of both characters as they struggle to connect and learn to accept one another
