The original plot of Inside Out of Riley and Joy meeting

- Yes, the preview of this video is totally true. Riley and Joy met each other in a deleted scene, and let me tell you, those deleted scenes are some of the most interesting ones I have ever seen. They had some great ideas that could've made the movie even better, in my opinion. Hopefully, they'll sneak some of that stuff into the sequel. So, what exactly was cut out from the final version? Well, initially, the whole story was on a different track.
In the version we got, Joy and Sadness were the main characters, but in the original plan, Fear and Joy were the main ones. This fact alone changes the whole movie. In this one, these characters go through Riley's head, arguing about what's best for Riley.
The scene where giant Joy and Fear run through San Francisco occurred in Riley's head at Imagination Park, in case you didn't get it
That’s why I think brave/courage might bee bright orange with orange eyes? What do you think?
Ya😊
Thats anxiesty 😅@@zingkoinko1231
Oh that makes way more sense.
@@zingkoinko1231 it’s not any of those we’re getting! It’s only Anxiety, Ennui, Envy and embarrassing! There is no brave/courage emotion we’re getting!
It’s a good thing there wasn’t really a villain in the final movie
It was gloom he did this
@@sameermohammed1326or it’s jangles the clown
@@danejenkinson-tv9kvyeah lol
It does he's just never mentioned or anything really he's gloom and acted as like a spirit
In my opinion, I see anger as the Villan since he was the one who basically forces Riley to run away
Idk why but it makes sense for the emotions to have a mic, Remember that all of the characters in Riley's mind ARE Riley. The conversations between her emotions are her internal debates with herself, so i feel like a mic would make sense
Reminds me of Osmois Jones, and Ozzy and Drix lol
I think they could transmit their ideas through a mic and Riley decides if they’re good
@@DanielHuggett-ob9ho that also makes sense, like the little voices or conscience in her head
They could kept Riley and joy dancing in the Final Cut
4:36 this scene is sadder in the final because bing bong asks joy to take Riley to the moon for him, but she can't because the two can't meet each other in person (there may be a better way to explain it but it's late and I'm tired).
I think he meant metaphorically, guide Riley there. Perhaps steering her to becoming an astronaut? Or maybe not, since it was a childhood fantasy and we always have those.
oh it's also interesting that Riley could have met her Joy, but it's still always very emotional and cute Joy talking to Riley as a child skating and that memory
2:48 I thought this scene was cute. It even almost made cry even if it’s a deleted scene. It kinda reminded me of Frozen 2 when Elsa saw the past. I wish they kept it in the movie. Because the movie was kinda short. Not too short but when realizing how many deleted scenes there were it made me sad that they didn’t use them in the full movie.
I read a fanfic once that was like this. But it was a little dark. Maybe too dark for Disney and Pixar.
Riley was riding her bike, but she had a terrible accident, and banged her head on the sidewalk. She went into a coma due to her emotions neglecting her to ware a helmet. While she was in this "coma" she dreamed of her visiting her emotions. And she met all if them.
I don't remember exactly everything that went down, because it's been a while since I read it, but one of the plot points was that Joy tried to use Riley to bring Bing-Bong back. Since she was there with them, Joy wanted to see if Riley's presence would bring him back from her forgetting him.
Yeah I don't really know how Riley was talking with the emotions, while inside her own head lmao. Because she was having emotions while she was talking.... while being in her head. So yeah lmao idk. But the dark part about the fic- was the end of it.
A "new" emotion showed up out of nowhere. Pitch black, darkness all over it. Turns out it wasn't an emotion, it was "Death" because apparently Riley wasn't gonna live.
Sad part is, i remember the fic ended there, there was no continuation.
Fix grammar
But honestly that’s deep
@@skydoesstuff7129”I just met my emotions!”
“Nah ur gonna die”
Geez
Damn... That's dark...
Ah the infamous "coma isekai".
Dark fanfic 101 in my book.
After watching the movie (this was awhile back) I release a flaw in the premise of the movie. Why are the Emotions in control. Emotions are tools we can used to help us, but we should never be driven by them. The last thing you want in life is to be controlled by your emotions. That is when you make bad decisions. We are supposed to learn not to be controlled by our emotions.
Also, who says we have to give up our imagination when we grow up?
I agree with you to some extent, yes emotions shouldn’t always drive us since it might lead to bad circumstances sometimes, but in reality most people feel these emotions and their changes all the time, wether they like it or not. And for someone at Riley’s age, emotions are usually in full control, as you grow up you learn that sometimes you need to think rationally and with your head.
The premise of the movie was actually quite good imo, that sometimes when we feel sad we should express those feelings, if we feel lonely or need help we should talk to someone trustworthy about it, if you keep holding in these emotions it’ll cause you to do irresponsible stuff, by the end of the movie when Riley was going to leave the city and go back to her original hometown, she wasn’t thinking with her head, she unwillingly let the feelings of depression take over and block out anything else, but the emotions brought her back to her senses.
As a child I totally related to Riley’s story since I did move out into places a lot and it would really take a toll on me, sometimes to the point of wanting to run away, but feeling sad that I’ll miss my family and that they’ll miss me brought me back to my senses🤍🙏
Exactly! I still have my Imagination
It would be kind of cool if we do see a monster from Monsters Inc. This might somewhat confirmed the theory of every Pixar movie is connected.
Better that emotions can't directly control her, because we don't really get to choose how we feel during situations but we can choose how to respond to those feelings. It's the same as these emotions. They can influence her with certain emotions, but they're ultimately Riley's decisions.
Which also makes sense why Joy is so opposed to Riley growing up, as she believes she knows what's best for Riley. As Riley gets older she gains more critical thinking skills and acts less on emotion, which scares the emotions as they have less control and in their eyes can’t keep her safe.
The dialogue and motivations of the Joy and Fear sub-personalities in the original script kind of resemble 'Firefighter' and 'Manager' sub-personalities. One is assertive and ignores social relationships to avoid pain and preserve the happiness of the self, while the other is more co-operative and controlling to suppress the self and prioritize social relationships. With all the issues that come from either one dominating over the other, the "Joy Alone" conclusion actually feels more significant. It's the moment when a sub-personality realizes that it's not about them, it's about the host.
It's harder for a young audience to understand these ideas so the character change makes total sense. Still though, I have greater appreciation for the writers to even make the attempt to bring these important concepts for mental health to light.
an emotion talking to riley through a mic is like a reference to Osmosis Jones
It seems in the old version, the emotions just made Riley feel these things, but the characters didn't have to match the emotion. In the final version, Joy was usually happy, Sadness was usually sad, etc. which I think helped the appeal. Joy being a stuck-up diva might make people think being happy is... rude to the other emotions? It would be complicated. They did, however, keep Joy wanting Riley basically to be a kid forever. Actually, it's what they all want- the good, simple times of childhood. That's why they try to go back on the bus before Sadness stops them- they want the simple times back.
I almost cried when joy danced with Riley
“With you hazbins”
Me: Hazbin hotel🤨
Hazbin Hotel fans when they realize hell is eternal damnation and torture instead of demon femboys
@@tangerinecowboy😔
We all have a broken brain
We here hazbin as hazbin hotel
This truly was our Hazbin Hotel, wasn’t it ? 😔
I think its "Has beens" or something like that.
well there IS a sarcasm in the sequel’s new trailer
Tbh, I really hope we get a scene of Joy and Riley meeting someday. It would be cute. Thank goodness they didn't feature Fear as a villain since that would ruin the movie.
Joy really was set to be a villain.
Reminds me a little bit of in that old show, Ozzy and Drix, when they go into Hector’s dream and meet him. Ozzy was so excited! He never thought something like this would happen.
I remember that show
or in once upon a time: life when maestro lets peter get into his OWN brain cell through a display screen and teaches him about how the brain sees things differently based on context. which was really weird because at no other moment in the series was it ever awknowledged again that this could happen or do the people inside the body ever directly interact with those outside.
Yeah this would’ve been a little dumb honestly
It’s probably a risky move _not_ to have them “meet” each other but ultimately it’s for the best I feel
Funny that Riley didn’t have the sarcasm center yet because I have meant plenty of sarcastic kids
1:50 that whole line definitely sounds like it was from hazbin hotel
My thoughts exactly 😭
it makes me wonder how joy and riley were supposed to meet since you can't meet your emotions (if you could I have alot of questions for my anger)
This version of joy seems more how a mother would feel about their kids growing up
I like that fear version
Is it just me or is that from 1:35-1:58 it makes her look almost as mean if not as mean as Black Friday Woody. I mean the similarities of them being mean to their friends are maybe also just coincidental.
I bet they might actually include some of these deleted scenes in the second movie!
this movie made me cry twice!! its a joyful movie but at the end become emotional as they reunite everyone in the end but the ending was good and brought hope, remember when's there's life, there's hiope!
Sometime on one of inside outs Anniversary they should release an animated movie on the original script
I want it to see a clip of Riley and Joy meeting
"Ill never end up down here living with you hasbeens"
Tch pft jesus christ joy. Where did your goodish glow go?
3:40 Since you said teen Riley, maybe it could have a part in Sequel? Where Riley actually turns into a teenager
4:36 im glad this part didn't make it, because this is murh emotional 😭
6:10 if you played gta san andreas you know what sound is this 😂
Imagine the emotion talking through a mic is actually your conscience
Joy in the deleted scenes, kinda reminds me of Woody from the Black Friday reel.
I was watching this video and an ad for inside out 2 played
Joy can't keep Riley acting like a little kid people would make fun of her
The movie version is awesome! I love it!❤😊
A few interesting ideas were added but I prefer the one we got overall
so sweet i love inside out
I love the final version better
I got an Inside Out 2 ad before this
I kept my imagination park in my mind
I thought anger would be the villian.
Wow…I had no idea about this.
Who knows they might do that for the sequel
I wrote a fanfiction on Devianart where Riley parents died when she was six or eight and when she closed to the age she is in tge first movie she is adopted and kidnap by these entities that are made out of Blankets and look like the Ghost of Christmas Future called The Blanket People and they take Riley away to their world which is called Blanket World to raise The Tomboy and Riley never grows up when living with the Blanket People either.
I love the Mrs.scribbles and monsters in the closet joke lmao 😭 I wish we could’ve seen more of them in the final film
bro was yapping for 8 mins straight
Anger was the real villain, Let me explain… anger was the guy who started stuff like when joy left at the end anger had these ideas that made Riley got In trouble out of all the bad things like saying shut up straight to her strict dad and stealing her moms credit card the worst one of all was running away, and take a look in the end of the movie, it was anger who caused it all and everything if anger wasnt’ there nothing bad would happen
This makes me view the movie completely different
They need this in the second movie
This emotional scene Joy meets Riley sounds more emotional and great, this could work hopefully they can add this emotional scene in Inside Out 2 somewhere. 😊
7:15 MRS. SCRIBBLES!!!!
The Deleted Scenes are Weird
The first one fills it would be pg13 or M rated. Probably would have been on cartoon network
This gives a while new meaning to "push my buttons"
Anger looks like super meat boy. But with clothes
Even more noticeable in the sequel where we see him in his underpants!
@@kevinlee7678 I hope the dog and the cat return
I really think that the emotions and people meeting should have remained in
Do you meet happiness in your brain? 😂
The villan is envy😅
6:16 To me that looks like the voice in your head before you say whatever is on your mind.
Could say them being a giant is her reacting out in reality . could also be seen as a metaphor my guess
0:54
Jaku:his name was Freddy back then
Me: is that da Freddy Fazbear har har har har har har har
Joy is kinda the villian
1:52
Me who watches hazbin hotel: exuse me?
I thought there was like a 15 minute video. How is that so short?
While I do like the personality that Joy ended up with, I feel that this side of Joy gives her more depth and a stronger connection to Riley. In this version, Joy is essentially a part of her well-being and has a personal connection & reasoning for not wanting to let Riley go. Joy is experiencing fear, sadness, and even disgust within herself facing the knowledge of Riley growing up.
Its like Black Friday all over again...
Wait, this released already?!
Honestly, I do think someone who wants something selfish but doesn't follow through in the end hits me, though for this movie, the story being the way it is definitely fits more for what it is
So in the original- joy and fear where kinda set to be a villan? 🤨 . .or just not as nice as they are in the final? 😵💫
My imagination park has a golden wall around it and will never be torn down :)
I don't know why but joy in the animatics reminds me of pearl in steven universe.
Oh my gosh that's crazy
I wish they put a since of Joy and Really meeting each other
Do you thing it weird that emotions and can feal Emotions?
Instead of the memory dump scene joy could of landed in this water swam around then came across a hidden door or something then see Riley and show that scene or they should show it soon I hope they actually do where Riley finally meets joy
in the original scene she acted like that pink demon from helluva boss lm glad they cut that part out
8:06 why does she sound like the voice actor who voices Karen the computer from SpongeBob and Lincoln’s mother from loud house?
0:55 the fnaf memes if that was the movie we got...
It wouldn’t make sense if joy and Riley met because joy is in Riley’s mind
While this version is definitely interesting I prefer what we actually got
Guess what department of Teen Riley won't be Inside out 2.
I still find Joy a bit unlikable, but as i important growth for the story.
I feel like Fear could have been a good villain, but not one that pretends to be good, he just disagreed with Joy wanting to keep Riley a child forever. Neither character is in the wronng, both just have differing opinions
Click bait?
How do you even have these deleted scenes 💀
2:20. Is so sad😭
Cool!
It would be kind of cool if we see a mor
a cool movie would be something like this but instead with parents. something like bao, or even 2 childhood friends meeting up at teenagehood. you wont always be that innocent little kid, but at least it came
Joy is inside Riley
1:56 yeah go to a hotel!
Okay- so it wasn’t just me
Yea I thought that to
What if in inside out 2 was a the final film was joy finally meat riley in this film in spoiler alerted in outside out of the head to become the human say goodbye for joy in outside out of this head in this sized in the ending of the sequal to say goodbye what if or not.
How does someone talk to there on joy
Raleyy? it’s Riley
6:35 (a book mark for me)
I guess the closest thing to a villain is joy…
