Using a 1/4" drive ratchet and a 1" extension then the socket will allow you to tetris the ratchet in the little opening where you stuck your finger to point at the nut. No need for all the extensions.

Have you never seen a video on something other than your phone? It's like you have blinders on watching it like this! Like the inner tube gasket. Got mine yesterday, installing today, a day late for the winds we had yesterday that seemed like my hood was gonna fly off 😂

Another dude that doesn't drill the fenders like a monster. Good man. High five for making gaskets. I reused some from another set I had I hated.
Yessir… I'm not going back to the original latches, ever.. but neither of us need new holes.
I didn't drill mine either just took my time, why drill and ruin a good finish when it's not necessary.
Contemplating this mod…couldn’t you have filed the alignment tabs down till they fit in the holes?

that gap is likely there in order to facilitate installation of a bug deflector.
