Conan found some real gems in his careers... She is definitely one of them. Wouldn't be the same without her
"Conan once said, 'But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen. I'm telling you, amazing things will happen.' These words resonate deeply with me as I reflect on the incredible era we've been privileged to experience. I've never felt so fortunate to be alive at a time that brought such unique talents and moments to the forefront. If it wasn't for Conan's show in '93, I wouldn't have witnessed Tenacious D perform four times, nor would I have been introduced to the myriad of other talented individuals that have graced his stage. This connection might seem small, but it's part of a larger tapestry of entertainment and legacy we've all witnessed thanks to visionaries like Conan.
@@mattmays9063 That quote has always stuck with me as well. One of these days I might actually start doing it.
Lol SAME! In the meantime though you'll catch me watching Hiking With Kevin and Team CoCo and so on. @@jeremyc9593

I don‘t think Conan is into gemhunting
when Sona said "What's it like to work with someone you're scared of? I would never know!" tells so much about conan's personality and how lucky all of Conan's staff are with him
If you look at a lot of the other hosts in his field they all have had some sort of pattern of abuse controversy with staff. Conan's reputation is the complete opposite. In fact, he's the only one that makes a reoccurring parody of it.
Yeah his staff that have been with him for decades seem to love him. A testament to his character for sure.
@@cdhuibecause he’s one of the few educated people who actually belongs to TV?
Aww Sona making that book for him & his family when they moved to LA is adorable & shows how she was ready to be his assistant. Love her!
That was a nice gesture although I guess she didn't know he had lived in LA twice before. He had been away for about 16 years at that point though and Liza and the kids had not lived there.
Conan is the kind of boss everyone loves. not because he's easy going, but because he lets his employees be themselves.
He caught her watching tv reruns ( Friends I think ) at work, didn't fire her, didn't dock her pay.
Exactly! Being able to be yourself at work is such a release. Otherwise it feels like you're wearing a mask for 8 hours a day.
Congrats Sona on 15 years! You two have just made an awesome team over the years. So cool to see her get her shine
She's the worst fake laugh for hire next to any dude.

Bless, you tried your best.
25 more years, Sona!

I'm sorry but no other comedians working right now could do what Conan does. Generational talent.
Sssshh he'll hear you
Hey Conan
He's the Buddha of comedy.
"He's a once in a hundred years something." Tombstone written.
There was one but he drew with cancer
Matt is classic Gen X; absolutely falling apart on the inside but hiding it surprisingly well
I don't know why but I love your comment
That’s not millennials? Speaking as one myself 😂
Yep. Latchkey kids. We raised ourselves.
@@luckyDancer100 the generational division should just be generally perceived, actually. Since everyone has different environment of development, they might not align well with their categorized generation. For example gen X was born in the era where most kids have to learn to be independent because parents are divorcing like trends and ignore them to their own device (thus the title latchkey kids, because they have their own keys to enter home after school, a home that their parents rarely present). However, not all parents are divorced and distant, so their kids don't have the general personality of a latchkey kid. These kids are still categorized as gen X because they were born in this era, but truly they're of other generation at heart.
Us real Gen X wouldn't fall apart inside, we just figure things out on our own. It's Gen Y and Z who fall apart because they never learned how to be self sufficient. Their hovering parents never gave them the space to fail and pick themselves back up again, so they all grew up weak.
Sona says, "You mean I'm Barney?!?" Matt replies, "Yeah but he's Homer." Sona- "Oh, ok."😂🤣😂
The key to Sona, is that she doesn't put up with Conan's bullshit and keeps him on his toes. It's exactly what he needs, and he is smart enough to recognize it. They balance each other out perfectly and it's fun to watch.
9:02 🤣🤣 Gourley is amazing
"He probably means Conan" 😅😅😅😅
Also, Conan speaking of himself in 3rd person was pure gold 😅😅😅😅
I love their relationship.... It's like a brother and sister who are always annoying each other, but there's no doubt that they love each other 💙
I watched his documentary yesterday and got to watch Sona actually be his assistant and it made me love Sona more! 15 years of that is good work!
What documentary was that?
This is just a testament of how great Conan is. Recently hearing about how some other late night hosts are actual nightmares to work with giving employees ptsd Conan is a stark contrast allowing his team to be themselves and rag on him back. He's the best
Jordan has been pretty adamant and vocal about how he can’t get a job anywhere else because of Conan.
"What can you bring to the team?"
"I can do various tasks"
Pretty sure as associate producer over 20+ years, Jordan is a millionaire many times over lol
And come on, you know he produced the episodes he was in (or at least did a lot of various task for them)
He'd do more than Biden...or at least damage less.
I don‘t think he has
"You make all of us un-hirable"
Having friends and good people to work with is one of the joys of life. It's a sad waste of your life if your work environment is making you ill or shortening your life with stress. Some stress is good, it makes you perform but too much is poisonous. If you are in a bad work environment try to escape, your life will get better. .Been there and experienced it.
These two are precious.
We missed them travelling to Armenia in Without Borders special.
Man... I wish Conan lives forever. He's too good to not be around for a 1000 years.
Basically, Conan is Batman, Sona is the Joker, and Conan's foolishness is the chemical acid Batman tossed the Joker into. The madness was always there. Conan just unlocked it.
Edit: All of Conan's staff are basically just his own version of Batmans' "Rogue's gallery"
Trying to figure out if that makes Matt Alfred
Gourley is both Harley Quinn and Alfred
@@gilbertodepiento8521 🤣🤣🤣
2 face was put in acid
That's not...Batman didn't throw Joker into acid. Some versions of the character have him fall in the chemicals while running away from Batman, but I don't think it's ever explicitly Batman's fault.
I love that Conan can laugh about the tonight show garbage. I'm still bitter about it, and it didn't even happen to me.
Lol, SAME! To be honest, though, I feel like it had to happen this way just to prove Conan's legacy is greater than any network.
After that fiasco, I never watched The Tonight Show again until Leno officially retired for the second time.
I agree...BUT it turned out to be the best move of his career. He's more relevant now than he ever would've been at the tonight show. Look at where all of the late night hosts are at now. Nobody is watching those shows and they're struggling.
It was 14 years ago
@@unikornkontroller I'm pretty sure millions are still watching those shows
I love when conan admits publicly how amazing sona was at her job.
Man I love Conan and his team.. what a delight to hear this podcast is therapeutic and more.
congratulations on 15 years of surviving Conan! I would love to have a fun job like yours.
And thats why we love Conan and his team !! ❤
Sona should publish that LA guide!!!

Happy anniversary! Sona is so lucky to work for Conan! It would have been my dream job. They’re a winning combo too. The chemistry is undeniable. Love you both! 🧡🧡🧡
I love how conan remembers everything vividly.
Maybe Sona can publish her LA helpful hints book to the world. I'd love to read that and I think other people would too.

The Barney reference sounds very similar to Jim Ignatowski's (played by Christopher Lloyd) origin story from a classic episode of Taxi for those old enough to remember.
Wasn't he a straight-laced college guy in a Letterman's jacket? 😂

Sona aka barney and Matt really are important to the podcast it wouldn't be the same with out them
I love how conan turns average off camera people into hilarious on camera personalities.
Their funniest moment together, imo, was the interview with Harrison Ford. Ford ridiculed Conan for using cue cards listing Ford's movies and Sona's laugh came across so infectious.
Good people attracting good people. A fine team.
This was such a great video to finally watch on Xmas eve.
I truly miss Conan on live TV and really enjoy the podcast. Sona is THE BEST and Matt is THE BEST.
Conan, well, he's a dickface bwahahahahaha
Merry Christmas to the entire team there!
I love how Conan kept his Ford Taurus and would make it a show just to stick it to Jay. 😂😂😂
Outstanding
Love Sona. Great pick hiring her. Always love to see 2 people connect like this.
"Ittttt BEEGGIIIIIINSSSS!" always thought that joke was a nod to Iggy trying brownies in college for the first time on Taxi
RELEASE THE SONA BOOK!
It's really a weekly highlight to listen to your podcast 👍. Not only because of entertainment, it's also the best medicine to cope with the impact of all the negativity currently spreaded, especially here on UA-cam. Love you guys❤
Negativity? You call real calamities in the world "negativity"? Jee, so sorry that human suffering inconveniences you... Grow up!🤦
I want a "Quinceañera" celebration Conan!!!
Conan, never change. You are hilarious. You make me laugh just by you being yourself. You make me feel like I can come to terms and possibly be comfortable with my own insanity and still be a decent human being. Those people around you were already damaged. You just helped corrupt the other part of them that wasn't. Lol.
If only there was a way to know a popular celebrity is looking for an assistant. Sure it has it's own stress but they will hopefully pay you handsomely to guide their lives
Imagine beinh Ellen's assistant

Best ad break ever
That Simpsons joke was actually done first in Taxi when Reverend Jim takes a hit of reefer in a flashback.
My only wish is to talk to Conan once
And then my life is settled 😂
Love just sona n conan
Conan is the Buddha of Comedy!! 😂
"You make all of us un-hirable" LMAO. I run my office the same way. Very low turnover since no one else will take them.
I was really hoping for the bidet commercial on this one.
It is on the podcast and may be the funniest thing I have heard on here.
Conan just loses his mind. "I went to a good college! I have a family I take care of ...and now I am doing commercials for a thing that shoots water up my ass?!"
Almost drove off the road again when that started playing ....
Sona's hair during the Kia ad? Low key dime piece.
they were a great team. my fav skits from the show are of him and Sona. why did he leave the show again ? i completely forgot
this was fun
Sonja steady working to bring down Conan's good cheer. Its working.

15 year anniversary of not working but having fun
Same as with Mr. Schlansky, but with added fun.
@@juandesalgadoBut she isn't doing so in various ways
It is a lot of work. We don't see it.
She won't last long if she's just slacking. Here being goofy is a privilege she earned for being great employee
It‘s 13 years, not 15.
Conan is one of the bosses who when they started was treated very badly, but who always said when I am a boss I will make sure that none of my workers are afraid of me and feel in an environment of pressure and stress, and he achieved it, you can see that the environment work is great, Conan understood the truth of a good work environment in which you work and everything comes naturally without people walking on tiptoe near Conan the boss, in the end you have people who enjoy their work, that can be seen in the work team in a genuine way and that is why Conan is one of the best comedians and talk show interviewers, without being double-faced on screen and off screen, as everyone knows about Ellen de Generes and Jimmy Fallon, who are real fake cretins outside of camera
I want the LA book.
