    There's also a super niche use case for this Keystone which requires a very specific setup and some shenanigans to work, so I haven't included it in this video. However, I'll be making a separate video for this interaction soon!

      huzzah! i really enjoy layering this keystone with other conditional reduction sources like Winddancer, kintsugi, Elementalist guard, call of the void with chill effect scaling..... the thought process is "well, i only need one or two of these conditions active to survive"
      I'd love to see a video from you simmilar to the shield/tempered by war video where you discussed the layering of various keystones, etc.
      Also, i continue to love the production value and thought put into your vids man. please keep it up i'm sure it will work out - inspiring!

      @@Vulgaels I didn't, but the interaction is pretty straightforward. You can(or could last time I checked) chain a normal guard skill and vaal MS back to back indefinitely with no downtime. To do that you need two separate guard skill setups: vaal MS linked to less duration which actively lowers the time gap between duration and soul gain prevention from 5s to slightly more than 2s. You then need your normal guard skill linked to increased duration(MS and arcane cloak work because they have base 3s duration and 4s cd, I haven't tested steelskin or IC with charges). Lastly you need multiple soul ripper flasks and flask charge generation.
      Then you basically use normal guard skill > use soul ripper > use vaal MS right before normal guard ends > use normal guard right before vaal MS ends > repeat
      I ended up not posting a video about that because it's not particularly useful unless you want to play guard skill piano, and also with veteran's awareness you may still just get spiked during vaal MS

    this series, very helpful. I think it would be helpful to have side by side maths shown on screen so I don't have to remember how much better with guard skill up vs not is.

    The intention behind the design of this keystone goes around bossing. The idea is to help you out to survive to stuff that your char dies even with a guard skill on. With the downside that you will be more vulnerable after that, when you most likely aren't in danger.
    So if you are in a gap where you can easily, for example, survive and over-sustain most uber shaper skills by a margin over the downsides, but the ball phase is killing you every time, then this might be useful for your build.
    In practice, HC players are going to be tanky enough already because they won't rely solely on its skills, cooldowns, timings, etc and SC players are going to have enough damage or buy a carry lol. Also, the margins shown in the examples aren't that remarkable. Guess SSF players could find this CJ useful in some niche scenarios.

    My friend, I tested it now on the Manabond Hierophant that takes advantage and works 100% with Arcane Cloak and the buff is brutal with this jewel! Thank you for sharing it!

      Playing Onemanaleft's build myself and...I don't think it is worth it, for 2 reasons:
      1. We are nigh immortal while Arcane Cloak is up. Most, if not all, of my deaths come from the downtime.
      2. It takes a jewel socket. We value jewel sockets so high that even emperor's mastery is almost not worth using.
      I think with the exception of a low budget settup, this cluster just does not fit in the build.

    Some weird and maybe op unique item idea just spawned in my head while watching:
    Grant 20 level Molten Shell/Steelskin/Arcane Cloak
    Other Guard Skills are disabled
    Guard Skills have infinite duration
    Guard Skills recharge 4 seconds after being depleted
    So basically, nothing really changes besides that with this item buff from guard skill will be always up, and you dont have to press it or use with cwdt.
    Purely for this keystone, make it like t0 drop, or something 😅

    There is one more thing I think might be worth mentioning. Don't remember the uniques needed for it, but there are ways to 'petrify' or freeze yourself, where you cant take any actions, but get massive damage reduction for a few seconds. That could be used to help bridge the 4 second gap too.

    One of the coolest items in the game. Incredibly flavourful. You really do have to be a veteran to extract any value from it. I wish it was more readily available in racing scenarios because it would be invaluable in boss rushes where you character doesn't quite have the juice to tank the big mechancis without it. Molten shell has been abused heavily to consistently deal with things like uber shaper slams or sirus meteor in recent league starts and this keystone effectively allows you to reach the point in which you can manage that sooner.

    You can also combine that keystone with High-cdr Anomalous Immortal Call with Duration+Global cdr. That combo makes you almost always be under both debuff for 20% more damage taken and Immortal call buff with upside of Veteran's awarness. This will lead you to much consistent defense

    can u have the debuff and the buff active at the same time? For eg; bone armor has 3 sec cd and with cd recovery u can make it to 2.5 sec. So once the buff expires u only hv to wait 2.5 sec to get the buff back. So u hv the buff of ele and phys resistance at the same time as the 20% dmg taken?

    i think the shaperball example isnt really covering how good it can be max res dosnt do much vs ele pierce, like imagine a jugg that already has 80%max res with it vs something that has no elemental pierce. like 10.000ele damage vs 80%res = 2.000 damage, vs 90%res its only half that 1.000 damage.
    if u than add spress suppression on top and armour, lots of stuff gonna end up doing zero damage/next to zero damage to you.

    I think this works very well on necromancer, because bone armour has 4.2 seconds base duration with mistress of sacrifice and necromancer can already reach absurd amounts of flat pdr. Personally I'd never use this with steelskin due to low base duration. On a side note, is the downside a debuff? If it counts as a debuff, stasis prison would be op with it

      It's not a debuff unfortunately - no way to change the 4 second duration.

    For this amount of pain this keystone brings, maybe physical immunity or like, halving all damage taken before all the resistances and defences,
    maaybe makes it worthy.
    It is a good keystone, but it is like, 5-6 endurance charge. And downside is far too dangerous to say, run a delirium or other juicy content.
    It is definetely for a boss build, or like a summoner build that can control where they stand.
    That "has some time" to decide to use its powers or not.

    Well, a major problem with this is you have to be a really huge veteran to be aware of what's happening with the shitshow of buffs/debuffs on the top bar and various timers and conditionals going on and off.
    I certainly have at least 1000 hours in (big underestimate), and I can't do it.
    I remember using ngamahu (100% phys as extra fire for 4 seconds on, 6 seconds off) a couple years ago and it was really annoying when it could have been cool.
    Pendulum playstyle can be fun at the point of the game where you can't roll over everything without pendulum swinging for you. PoE players generally hate that sort of inefficiency, preferring quickly snowballing tactics, but I find it fun on slower/difficult content to have to hold back and then just burst forward like a limit break... but you need to have a really good indicator of when your important stuff is on and off. And even if it's front and center like molten shell or phasing- can only stack so much of this stuff on character for it to still be comprehensible too.
    Once you get to end-game there's just too much stuff happening that short of a big burning animation on the frame of the whole screen to indicate Ngamahu uptime, it's hard to keep up with stuff like this even if it's vital. And in this case with survivability going up and down that drastically you need something more like "omniscient awareness" to use this normally.

      Indeed! Even with low guard skill cooldown and high guard skill duration though, you can't change the 4 second duration of taking more damage unfortunately

      @@dreamcore_gg even with the debuff up, this makes my build reach from 31k max phys hit to 48k, and to 56k without the debuff. so it appears to be a massive boost for survivability with some cdr and skill effect duration

    Yeaaahhhh, the issue with this keystone is that during a guard skill, you're most likely not at risk of dying *anyway*, since a maxed out guard skill, when combined with other defensive layers, will usually be able to tank any one huge boss ability, allowing you enough time to recover with your recovery mechanics.
    It's what happens when you *don't* have your guard skill up that's the problem in PoE, and this does nothing to help those situations, and can make them worse.

      Endgame bosses have abilities that'll kill most characters even with their guards up if they hit you.

    you made a mistake when covering the soul gain duration. modifiers to skill effect duration will increase the time where you cannot get souls, however modifiers to guard duration dont count.

      This is false. Increases to guard skill duration, such as the one on Dynamo, will also increase soul gain prevention.

    How much damage does a shaper slam does to a Champion with 50k armor and fortify? It should be zero if you aren't messing up. It's good to give yourself this possibility to tank it, but most people do this fight deathless without the ability to tank the slam.
    I'd be warry of people making builds to tank those abilities. In a way, the thing that occur then is this balance of offense and defense can get wrecked. When you have a build that can kill a boss quickly, this is tremendous defenses. If you scale your defenses a ton and forego your damage, then you'll take less damage... but take it over a much longer period.
    I do love to scale defenses in current poe because it is easy. But it's easy to overdo it. How many millions of damage are you losing scaling defenses? Where is the line that makes you more vulnerable because you are stuck in a boss arena longer. I know for sure being stuck in a boss arena a while makes you very vulnerable. DPS is a huge defensive layer in doing a boss. If you let the arena fill up with degen ground, it won't matter that you can tank the slam, you'll be in trouble anyway.

      You obviously will be avoiding a shaper slam by just getting out of the way, but the shaper slam is used in this video as an example of how much mitigation the keystone provides and how much extra damage you are taking with the downside active.

    Stupid buff with working debuff almost always, need rework with imbalanced guard, glancing blows and some legion jewel nodes, etc. Ggg dont think about improve of weak moments, but nerfing even not strongest moments, bring me back strong ignite burning arrow elementalist, was my fav build
