I agree, that's probably one of the most basic and useful piece of knowledge that every POE player should have. Not having that in a beginner's guide kinda defeats its whole purpose 🤔
I just want to compliment you on how concise your videos are. You get straight to the point and every second is filled with useful info. You are also very easy to understand, despite English not being your first language. You are well spoken sir.
Absolutely agree. Give this man your subs. I have never seen that chaos orb recipe before. We need you to do more of these types of videos, explaining all the various mechanics in the game. You could always split them up into various categories like true beginners, intermediate and advanced. So many other video guides are really intermediate and up. I usually end up more confused and lost by the end than when I started lol
The guide is finally out and it's packed with great tips and tricks for new players! Still, you might learn a thing or two even if you've already kicked Kitava's butt a few times 😎 Video goes all the way to glorious 1440p and manual English subtitles have been added 👍
Tried PoE VERY briefly during delirium, but was quickly overwhelmed. Still, I would seek content to research for another attempt. Your videos have helped me the most by far. Concise, and informative, much appreciative. Finally getting a chance to explore the PoE experience, and loving it. Thanks a ton.
at around 500 hours and never knew the secondary weapons level gems even when not using them...i currently only use it to house some of my buffs on a different bar. Excelent video 9.8/10
This video is great for new players or players that have taken some significant time off from PoE. I wish there was a video like this when I first started (2 years ago). I used an exalt to add a mod on my leveling gear. I felt so bad when I later realized the value of the exalt.
:feelsbadman: i remember wasting a few Eternal Orbs back in the day because I had no idea how they worked or their value. Nowadays you could sell those for a few hundred exalts in standard league...but hey, all part of the learning process 😉
Loved that Breaking Bad reference, man. Thanks for the tips! I have logged about 30 hours, and I'm progressive very slowly through low tier maps, and I think this will get me some mileage.
I got into this game just two days ago. I was like "ooh a diablo clone" ... No. Its better. Muuuch better. IM having a blast, even spent some money on it to get a better look lol. Liked n subbed man, thank you for the information.
I bookmarked it. I started and left for two years then came back 100 percent lost. I did 3 builds where I got each to 60/60/80 in a week combined and this guide is very good I must say.
Thanks for the video! I managed to level my first character to 86 without even having a single clue I could get certain currency. I wasted so many items. I was reading descriptions in game and those are not even close to this tutorial. Keep doing this. If you have energy, you could do tutorials on: prophecies, delves, or blights. Especially the last one. I don’t have a clue how to get blights right!
POE can definitely be overwhelming at the moment since it is the result of over 7 years of content being added and polished, so there's a lot to chew for new players. However, my personal advice is to not worry too much about what you might have wasted or how much better you would've played with some additional knowledge. Even after thousands of hours sunk into this game, I still have areas where I play sub-optimal, but I'm totally fine with it. I enjoy my pace and what I get out of the game. I am definitely planning on creating more non-build guides, more specifically my goal is to deliver a very in-depth leveling guide that should apply to a broad range of builds rather than a specific one 😎

Really glad I was able to help and save you some time 😁 the game is actually surprisingly flexible when it comes to "rolling back" most decisions. If you haven't already then you might want to also check the basic crafting guide ( ua-cam.com/video/CZkvhTZGZ-Y/v-deo.html ) - I'm talking quite a bit about the general item structure, how to get the best out of your currency or how to improve otherwise average items with very little investment. That info will surely come in handy no matter what build you're playing 👍

Damn. This game is intensely way more advanced than diablo !! I feel confused but content when I play. I’m learning on my own but also wish I was a pro already.
My advice is to try to ignore the complexity at first and not attempt to play very efficiently. I'm barely scratching the surface of POE's depth here so you will always feel like you're coming up short if you want to take everything in from the very beginning. So, don't worry about making mistakes or not playing optimally; almost nothing is lost or irreversible in POE (unless you play Hardcore). From league to league, from build to build, you'll get better and better and learn new stuff as you go. You should also try out as many builds as possible, especially with a varied array of skills. This way you can understand much better how each plays, which items are valuable and which are junk, what are the strong points of certain classes as well as their weaknesses 👍
Thank you Navandis! Do you have a guide about what to concentrate on BEFORE level 60? I have several builds under level 50 and I've been keeping stuff because I don't know how useful it can be, if I should trade it or sell it and, in the end, my standard Storage is so overwhelming that I don't play my main build anymore. And it gets worse every new league with all those new yellow rare or unique items found... I wonder if other people feel the same.. . It would be useful to know what a wise behaviour would be for under level 60 or 75 (I didn't know that Yellow rarity items would be only useful as a set of a vendor recipe if they were Lvl. 60+...). Maybe you have a video like this already. I just subscribed and will go to check your build ones. Thank you. If you understood my situation and have a video for players like me, please let me know. Been playing for years and the amount of things in the game plus new ones being added, make it overwhelming inventory wise. Thank you.
I don't have such a guide ready at the moment, but I am working on a short series with tips & tricks for leveling up a char (from 1 to Atlas mapping) - this will obviously include gearing and what type of items you should look while going through story mode. Until that is out, I can say that 99% of the rare items you'll find before level 60 are junk, and you should only keep what you're using now - saving them for other chars is totally not worth the stash space or time. You'll find similarly average items while leveling an alt. As for using those items later in the game, that's almost 100% not the case as lower level items cannot roll high numeric value affixes. There will be a few exceptions, but this is a much broader discussion on what makes a good leveling item: generally, you can keep items that have 2-3 resistance mods + life, boots with good movement speed + life + resistances, rings/amulets with life, 2-3 damage mods (for your current build) and some resistance, etc. With uniques, there are a lot of junk ones, but until you figure out which are trash and which are good, you can keep them all. Then, over time, try to determine which are the ones you never actually used on any characters and most likely those are junk. If their price is also
Hey bro im a huge fan of ur videos and have now followed all of ur guides to makes characters! I was wondering if I could make a build request? I would really appreciate seeing a magic find archer build done well... I have never seen guides as amazing as your and would love to see you work your magic on magic find! thanks for all the hard work
It's been a veeery long time since I've played a MF char so pretty much all my knowledge on the topic is outdated. I might get around trying to tackle such a build but I'm afraid it won't be any time soon. Still, I've added it on my potential videos list, so thank you for the suggestion! 😉
Thanks so much this was really helpful and you got a new subscribe for sure, btw I also watched the molten strike build guide and it was even more helpful!
The upcoming video has been pushed a bit, but I definitely haven't stopped 😎. Between moving to a new house, updating and improving all the previous builds to be 3.7-ready and progressing through the new league to test the next build against all relevant content, there simply wasn't enough time to publish the next guide as soon as I'd wanted to. At the moment I'm completely focused on the next video so stay tuned and keep an eye on the channel 👍
Flasks is the only thing I will not do in this game outside of the heal and mana ones UNLESS I made a character for it that could 200-300% the time the flask effect is good for.
How do you use the middle box on your main attacks bar? I've tried every key stroke I can think of to activiate it but no bueno. There also seems like no ryhme or reason why gem placements get assigned to each of the attack boxes, Q- T?
I've just finished setting up a nice *Discord* server for this community: discord.gg/9M6N6Wf This way we can communicate a bit more directly, get to know each other, bounce ideas for new builds, clarify things about the old ones and, of course, discuss and share stuff beyond PoE as well. So, drop by, say hi and stay awhile! 😉
Yep, support gems will only affect active skills/gems that are linked with them so it follows that they also need to be on the same item. However, let's say you have Arcane Surge linked with a skill such as Storm Brand: you cast storm brand and gain the Arcane Surge buff which increases your spell damage. Then if you have a separate gem setup, for example Arc spell, that will benefit from the spell damage increase even if the buff was generated by a different setup. So there are some indirect ways to have a gem setup influence another one, but support gems cannot directly affect gems on other iems.
That's the Betrayal league reward for completing 24 challenges; unfortunately as far as I am aware, league challenges are exclusive and can no longer be obtained once a league is over.
These do not drop in a specific place, it's just random. You can try obtaining the helmet by using Orbs of Chance on "Close Helmet" base items. However you might get a magic or rare item, it's not guaranteed to result in an unique. As for Efficient Training jewel, unfortunately the pool of possible outcomes is too large to efficiently (heh) use orbs of chance. Ultimately, for both these items the best option is clearly trading, as long as you're not playing in an SSF league.
Dude hoow do I get that stash where every item goes into specific slot??? And whats the hotkey to transfer items from your inventory to venders inventory for selling it??
Those are premium stash tabs sold from the microtransactions store. I think there's a stash sale still ongoing atm so it's probably the best time to get some. As for the keyboard shortcut, that's Ctrl+click 👍
Everything from the shop is permanent and present in all leagues and game modes (HC, SSF, HCSSF, Standard) at the same time. If you buy a stash tab now, you will find it added in Blight league, in Standard, in HC, etc. Of course stashes do not communicate with each other cross-modes, but at the end of a league every stash tab that had at least one item in it will be moved to Standard in a "remove-only" format. These will be deleted only once you take out all the items inside and move them to the existing Standard stashes. This is why I have a few hundred remove-only stash tabs (from all the past leagues) in Standard on top of my regular 40 or so 😁
Well, no items/stashes are necessary per-se but some can really help save space in the long run. The most helpful and efficient in terms of saved space are currency, maps, unique items and divination cards tabs. If you plan on buying several stash tabs, I generally recommend getting one of the supporter packs (www.pathofexile.com/purchase) which comes with a whole bunch of store points included, besides the other visual micro-transactions. Then wait for a stash tab sale and use the points from the supporter packs to get the ones you want. Such sales happen every 3-4 weeks so you wouldn't have to wait for too long. Longer term you will likely figure out how many other stash tabs you need depending on your playstyle and what type of content you run more often. For example if you're an avid delver then a Fossils/Resonators tab might be the most valuable for you. As for regular stash tabs, it all depends on how much of a hoarder you are 😁. For me personally I found that 7-8 regular tabs + 2 quads + the special ones are more than sufficient each league.
Great content, would be perfect if you talked just a little bit slower and took the time to pronounce every word fully. But that being said you're english is still very good.
I need to know how to get loooots of currency. What to trade you know. Like i just traded 578 chromatic orbs for 1 exalt, but i felt it was worth 2 exalt. I need to know the ratio so im not getting messed over.
If you're playing on PC then you can check currencies exchange rates here: www.pathofexile.com/trade/exchange/Synthesis . Alternatively you can also use this website: poe.ninja/challenge/currency . It also has prices for a lot of other non-variable stuff like scarabs, fragments, divination cards, fossils, etc. However keep in mind that prices are dynamic and will vary over the course of a few days. There are also huge differences between first days of a new league and its last weeks. On top of that beware of price fixers that try to trick you into thinking certain items are dirt cheap so people end up selling them for much lower. As for what fetches the most currency, at the moment the most reliable farmable things are scarabs, fossils and breachstones. Deep delving is also especially profitable: after you go below 250 or so you will start noticing you're getting a lot more stuff, especially from hidden areas in the dark.
Or follow a good guide that will help you clear the game until you figure out how to design your own. The game has had content added to it for years and that brought with it additional complexity. You can't realistically expect to just wing it and be able to clear everything.
@@NavandisGaming well there is the problem with me and build guides.. game is convoluted AF to start with so guides never much helped me. Meh still enjoy the game. Tho did get to act 9 yesterday. Maps will destroy me if I get there.. peace.
Thanks a lot man! I'll keep putting out videos and the subs will come in time. The channel is mostly growing by "word of mouth" with people recommending it to their friends and guildmates 👍
I started playing 3 weeks ago, i am lvl 79 and finished the story part of the game and now i have not touched it for 5 days because i still havent figured out the gear system and that really throws me off from continuing to play anymore. Havent found any decent gear guides either. I think the system is deliberately too hard to make people waste currency due to ignorance. Or maybe a byproduct of the complexity. Too sad cause i enjoyed the gameplay pace.
The system you're seeing is the result of 7+ years of constant additions to the game - it's impossible to have this amount of longevity without adding new content. And in an ARPG almost all content revolves around gear, so it follows that this was the element which was expanded most. As such it is almost the most complex system in the game. If you're trying to understand everything about gearing in the first few weeks of playing, you're going to end up confused and disliking the game. The good part is you don't actually need to understand it, no more than the very basics (socketing, gem colors, links) and you can 100% enjoy the game. My advice is to take it slower, don't get attached to your currency (it's there to be "wasted" and used, it's not real money), and understand that you can have fun with it even without understanding every little aspect of the game in the first few weeks. If you want to learn more about gearing, items' structure and some basic crafting (which is all about understanding items' structure), check out this guide: ua-cam.com/video/CZkvhTZGZ-Y/v-deo.html
@@NavandisGaming Your guide explains a lot. Thanks. However, the game is too complicated to have some real fun. Also the fact that crafting is base 99.9% to chance rather than rare crafting materials is also something that gives me a headache. It's similar to the, get me 10 lion hearts quest and you have to kill 100 lions because 90 of them , well ... do not have a heart? I am fine with randomization of drops but you cannot really call a crafting system crafting when all it does is wasting. Auction house... yeah.... i dont want to rant. Trade in a webpage? No thanks. Grinding just for grinding? Some people find appeal to that, i dont. It has to make sense, or else it is just wasted time. Too bad cause the game has potential but looses a lot in the heave gear mechanics. Also in the fact that they purposely made every single free-drop item of gear looks like rubbish so they can sell their 50 USD custom made gear (really.... 50 USD? That is EA prices....) does not really make it a free2play game. I already spend 20USD for bag space and 15 USD for some cosmetics earlier in the day, but any more than that kills the point of a 7 year old game like that with mainly background mechanics updates.
@@NavandisGaming Hi, finally I found a decent scepter with add cold damage to spell. Btw, I already activated spiritual aid passive node. The elemental army support gem said that minions deals 28% more elemental damage. However it seems nothing different either in character info stat or arc tools tip when I attach or detach the elemental army support gem. Why is that? Thank you.
Spiritual Aid passive says _"Increases and Reductions to Minion Damage also affect you"_ whereas Elemental Army mentions "more damage". Increased and More are two completely different things in POE lingo and they are never used interchangeably. So, the minion support gems will not match Spiritual Aid's condition simply because all of them provide more damage rather than increased damage. The passive has a very literal meaning and that generally applies to most text in PoE 😉
@@NavandisGaming woaa, poe is not English then. It is a programming language with its own rule and syntax. Okay. How many fusion orbs usually needed to link six sockets? Or I should just waiting six links to drop beside the tabula rasa?
That complexity is part of the reason why we can have so many different and interesting builds 😉 As for 6-linking, empirical evidence suggests you need on average 1200 fusings. Of course that is just an average, you can get it in 1, 10 or 3000. It has also been determined that item quality increases the chance to get more links so make sure you raise it at least to 20% first. In addition to that you can use the hideout crafting bench and pay 1500 fusings for the guaranteed result. Of course, for regular items (aka not super rare stuff) in the vast majority of cases you'll find it much cheaper to just buy one off the market. Especially after the first 2-3 weeks of a new league the prices drop a lot and you can find a 6-link rare for 30-50 chaos orbs. A 6-link popular unique will then be 4-6 Exalts. Just make sure you don't buy corrupted ones as it is rather expensive to change their socket colors (with the hideout bench) 👍
That is true but at the same time you don't really need to understand every aspect to enjoy the game. A solid base is enough to get started and then you learn more as you go. I really think you shouldn't get discouraged about the overall complexity when it's actually quite simple to just dive in and not worry about optimization or efficiency 👍
@@NavandisGaming That is true, im playing right now. Been playing for 2-3weeks and i love it so far, i appriciate the complexity in the end game mapping system. Glorious game!
Alrighty... wow, my hard-fought interest in PoE is quickly deteriorating. There's innovation, then there's this. At first, I really like the way the lack of universal currency allows you to ignore most it drops (AKA 'vendor trash'). I was a little cross at how many items were still dropping. I'm not digging the degree of effort and knowledge required for me to recognize the value in the items being dropped. What a massive cluster fuck.

With uniques, there are a lot of junk ones, but until you figure out which are trash and which are good, you can keep them all. Then, over time, try to determine which are the ones you never actually used on any characters and most likely those are junk. If their price is also
Very nice 👍
Ty so much for all ur vids man
the best tips video ever! thumbs up!
Thanks for concidering it bro, can't wait to try a new build from you!
Thanks
ty
Thanks so much this was really helpful and you got a new subscribe for sure, btw I also watched the molten strike build guide and it was even more helpful!
Been playing since Alpha, and still picked up a coupla tips. Thanks! =^[.]^=
PoE has always been great at hiding info 😁
Great vid as always. Will you do a Raging Spirit build next please?
"They're all ugly..." Subscribed.
why'd you stop man, these videos are super good
The upcoming video has been pushed a bit, but I definitely haven't stopped 😎.
"Things I wish I'd known before I started playing." :D
Flasks is the only thing I will not do in this game outside of the heal and mana ones UNLESS I made a character for it that could 200-300% the time the flask effect is good for.
why this guide is not to rated...? lol, should have more views, tho. thanks for the help and the insights!
Navandis, thank you for this great video and your guides.. you convinced.me.to make a Molten Jug. xD
Can you please make a video to understand crafting ?
@myles rucker Will check it out!
How do you use the middle box on your main attacks bar? I've tried every key stroke I can think of to activiate it but no bueno. There also seems like no ryhme or reason why gem placements get assigned to each of the attack boxes, Q- T?
I've just finished setting up a nice *Discord* server for this community: discord.gg/9M6N6Wf
This way we can communicate a bit more directly, get to know each other, bounce ideas for new builds, clarify things about the old ones and, of course, discuss and share stuff beyond PoE as well.
So, drop by, say hi and stay awhile! 😉
wtf 6k views, underrated channel
I won't argue with that 😁
Please do one of these for heist. :D
Damnit Marie they're minerals haha nice
When linking gems, do they have to be on the same piece of equipment to benefit from supporting gems?
Yep, support gems will only affect active skills/gems that are linked with them so it follows that they also need to be on the same item.
However, let's say you have Arcane Surge linked with a skill such as Storm Brand: you cast storm brand and gain the Arcane Surge buff which increases your spell damage. Then if you have a separate gem setup, for example Arc spell, that will benefit from the spell damage increase even if the buff was generated by a different setup.
So there are some indirect ways to have a gem setup influence another one, but support gems cannot directly affect gems on other iems.
you so good man i wait to Get more :D
When you only play this game for hoarding currency, so satisfying.
PoE is a hoarder's paradise 😁
What is the yellow runic character effect @13:44?? Thank you!
That's the Betrayal league reward for completing 24 challenges; unfortunately as far as I am aware, league challenges are exclusive and can no longer be obtained once a league is over.
Do I have to pay to make my stash like yours?
Is there any place to find where certain items drop, like uniques or specific gems? The wiki has been somewhat lacking on giving locations
I've beem trying to get the helm and the efficient training gem from your necromancer build
@@NavandisGaming thank you very much, I'm new and it wasn't clear in game
Np man, if you have any other questions or something is unclear just drop a comment and I'll do my best to answer 😁
As for the keyboard shortcut, that's Ctrl+click 👍
hey my friend, is there any chance you could update demi's RF build? it is kinda outdated, he just wrote like 3 lines for legion thats it :-/
6:17 my anxiety went 📈📈
Imagine life before loot filters 😁
If I buy stash spaces. Do they apply to all legues? Or after 3 months do the stash spaces reset?
Everything from the shop is permanent and present in all leagues and game modes (HC, SSF, HCSSF, Standard) at the same time. If you buy a stash tab now, you will find it added in Blight league, in Standard, in HC, etc.
Of course stashes do not communicate with each other cross-modes, but at the end of a league every stash tab that had at least one item in it will be moved to Standard in a "remove-only" format. These will be deleted only once you take out all the items inside and move them to the existing Standard stashes.
This is why I have a few hundred remove-only stash tabs (from all the past leagues) in Standard on top of my regular 40 or so 😁
@@NavandisGaming how much as a new player should i expect to invest into the game for the necessary items[ as stashes]?
When I saw the vending selling receipy:
I COULD HAVE BEEN SO RICH BY NOW
Great content, would be perfect if you talked just a little bit slower and took the time to pronounce every word fully. But that being said you're english is still very good.
Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it :)
Build possibilities are endless... as long as you don't mind staying in act 4...
Maps will destroy me if I get there.. peace.
now i am 20 lvl marauder please tell me that when the heist league ends my character wont be deleted.. :D ?
League characters are not deleted, they're moved to Standard when the league ends, along with all the stash tabs, inventory, etc.
the breakfast club power 105.1
Just like a buffed up Harry Potter.. lmfao xD
Are you making a build? :-)
Next video is almost surely a build guide with a great starter for next league!
Duuuude your guides are top notch. Best of the best. I wish there was a way i could gift you 100k subs. Keep up the good work my friend 😎
Thanks a lot man! I'll keep putting out videos and the subs will come in time. The channel is mostly growing by "word of mouth" with people recommending it to their friends and guildmates 👍
I started playing 3 weeks ago, i am lvl 79 and finished the story part
of the game and now i have not touched it for 5 days because i still
havent figured out the gear system and that really throws me off from
continuing to play anymore. Havent found any decent gear guides either. I
think the system is deliberately too hard to make people waste currency
due to ignorance. Or maybe a byproduct of the complexity. Too sad cause
i enjoyed the gameplay pace.
I came here for blight tips and there is not a single blight tip.
And I use the default filter up to level 72 :(
Look on the bright side: with all the new stuff you've learned this league, you'll cruise through the next one 😎
That complexity is part of the reason why we can have so many different and interesting builds 😉
As for 6-linking, empirical evidence suggests you need on average 1200 fusings.
Just make sure you don't buy corrupted ones as it is rather expensive to change their socket colors (with the hideout bench) 👍
the more videos i watch the more confused i get
This game is so complex for new players, not beginner friendly
This game dead now?
Quite the contrary, it's doing better than ever before! And it will only grow better as we're heading towards PoE 2 👍
Good video but damn man you talk too fast with a strong accent makes it really hard to understand everything
Use subtitles, they're there for a reason
