    Thank you for this explanation, but what if we have 2 geometric properties in the variables(e.g. velocity - V, Young's Modulus - E, width - w , Diameter - d, and density - D)

    While aranging the repeating terms should we always select in order like first comes geometric property one, second comes flow property one 3rd comes, Fuid property one or is it just random

    Great explanation. However I would have liked if you explained why you prefer a variable over another while selecting pi terms. Also, what kind of term is Q? Is it flow property?

      I think the variables are chosen to make common dimensionless numbers like Reynold's Number or Weber Number. I'm also guessing Q, the "Discharge" is volumetric flowrate in (m^3)/s

    How do you know which property to choose for step 7? I’m first year engineering student and we have not done fluid mechanics yet so I’m confused which parameters to choose

      It doesn't matter which one you take from the geometric, flow or fluid property, as long as you don't take two of the same and don't select a dependant variable. For example, in the same pi group you can't have diameter and length because both have the same unit.

      Just did the calculation by taking viscosity instead of the density, the answer is the same.

      You select anyone either density or viscosity..... So you select viscosity as a fluid property also.....
