Mine has a squeak. found that the gear drive was loose, tightened up and better but not perfect. Thanks for all of the advice. I found your channel while trying to repair a Norcold 821R Refrigerator. Currently trying to read a 78 page service manual. My local RV service shop is booked 45 days our and I try to camp 5 days every every 21 days. I can not wait for them to fix the refrigerator. I am n ow subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for fixing our slide. Glad to hear the video is helping others. I almost called you yesterday over my furnace not igniting. I cleaned the sail switch and all good now.
I’m in the industry and I find my inner “Darren” and often teach my customers exactly how I’m fixing the various issues...at times maybe in too MUCH detail, but I think if they can spot and fix it themselves next time, that’s a win too. Go us, Darren.
Thank you AGAIN for another priceless information filled video and YES repair centers and or Techs can hate on you all they want But the RV community loves you brother and all your behind the scene helpers !!
Re furnace not igniting, sometimes the gas valve or coils fail. Not often, but sometimes. There are two coils and two valves in series. Both have to open, or no gas flows.
I have a Nexus Wraith RV with a Norco Cable slide system. I bought the RV new in April of 2018. This is the first RV I owned with slides. Since new it catches at the bottom when opening. The top moves first, then the motor loads up. Finally the bottom pops out and all is well. I have adjusted the cables per Norco Rep. The slide operates in same manner. I can't figure out how the slide is supported. I see rollers outside when slide is extended. I don't understand how the slide is supported inside the coach. Are there rollers? I live in Tacoma. I might have to bring this to Port Angles to have you look at it. I was in the KOA in Port Angles last week for 5 days. Help, Stephen White
Good Morning. Thank you for all the info you give us. Some owners like fixing the trailer and sometimes texts are not around to work on the unit. Again Thank You. Jack
I just bought a new dometic 2 way refrigerator model # DM2672RBX I REMOVED MY OLD FRIDGE AND INSTALLED THE NEW ONE . CONECTED THE GAS LINE CONNECTED THE 12 VOLT, AND PLUGGED IN THE 120 . IM GETTING 120 VOLTS, IM GETTING 12VOLTS AND GAS. WHEN I PUSH THE ON BUTTON IN THE AUTO MODE THE CHECK LIGHT COMES ON AND BUZZES. WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON TO GAS IT DOES THE SAME THING! I CHECKED THE FUSE UNDER THE BLACK COVER AND IT IS GOOD. WHEN I FIRST INSTALLED IT IT WAS NOT CONNECTED TO SHORE POWER AND WHEN I CONNECTED THE 12 VOLTS I HEARD THE BUZZING AND FOUND THAT IT WAS IN THE ON POSITION WHILE 120 WAS NOT CONNECTED SO I TURNED IT TO THE OFF POSITION AND CONNECTED THE 12 VOLT. THEN I TRIED IT ON GAS AND IT LIT UP THE BURNER I THEN SHUT IT OFF AND CONNECTED TO SHORE POWER IN THE AUTO POSITION AND CHECK LIGHT CAME ON AND BUZZING. NOW WITH EVERYTHING CONNECTED AND SHORE POWER ON IT WILL NOT LIGHT THE BURNER IN GAS MODE AND CHECK LIGHT STAYS ON AND BUZZING.
I see lots of people saying their refrigerator doesn't get cold enough. I have the opposite problem; My fridge freezes things almost as good as my freezer does - and the drain hose had dust in it. I don't think it drains properly either. I've adjusted the thermister all the way in both directions and it makes no difference. HELP!
Would you happen to know why my furnace sometimes does not turn on? I watched all your furnace videos but non of them show the same symptom as mine. When my thermostat clicks inside the rv I usually hear the furnace kick on after that but now i can only hear a single click from the furnace . This is the funny part, if I give it a light tap on the side of the furnace it will then turn on. Any idea what cause it to turn on after a light tap on the side?
Hi Ralph, this is a great question! Could you email it to: tricia@myrvworks.com, with subject line "UA-cam Video Request"? That might be a great topic for Darren to address on a 10 minutes with an RV tech video!
Smell is probably not cordite, which isn’t used anymore. The nitrocellulose in today’s powders contain additives that make the smell. I shoot black powder (Pyrodex), flintlock (dirty and leaves lots of residues in the barrel), and modern calibers (45ACP, 5.56 NATO, 12 Gauge are my favorites). -Jersey Mike, ‘20 Grand Design Momentum 351M
Hi Roger! This is something we can look in to. One idea for now is to go to our Patreon account and sign up for a donation. They allow you to cancel any time, so you could set it to donate for one month (or however long you want), and then cancel. Either way, we thank you for your support in watching the videos, and hope they help!
Not an over-priced dealership, just a fair prices, one person service company that is being negatively impacted by content like this...you are correct. I don't like it. In addition, without the proper tools and training, people can get in real trouble with gas appliance work, and should not be encouraged to do DIY on them. You're a good teacher. Why don't you do like Gary Bunzer and others with your gift and train actual RV techs? I could have used someone like you 24 years ago.
Another thought; Today my brother texted a picture of a motorhome that burned to the ground in the RV park they are in. Source of ignition was determined to be the refrigerator, which was recently owner repaired using YT videos as a guide. As good as your intentions may be, the reality is that some of the things we work on can be as dangerous as a bomb in the wrong hands.
@@standback3924 I *do* like stuff like that. I also like many of Darren's videos. The difference is, Norm or Bob won't teach me to pipe gas in my house, which could kill some folks due to my ignorance. They'll recommend only a pro for that. New wood flooring? Sure. Nobody is likely to die laying flooring. In the RV world, I love videos about non-critical tasks such as how to care for waste tanks, or do minor plumbing issues. That doesn't really impact my business much either. LP gas and LP burning appliances are another matter though. Thanks for asking. Robert

Thanks for the inquiry, I will try to put something together if I come across one of these repairs in the field.

Could the issue also be a low battery as to why the furnace isnt starting
