I am a Master Certified Mobile RV Technician in Georgia. I never make an assumption that a specific wire color carries a specific voltage or has a specific function. If a manufacturer runs out of a certain wire color, they aren’t going to shut down production while waiting on their next shipment of wire! They are going to use whatever wire they have in stock to complete the job and move on. It may be a different gauge and different jacket color than the same wire run in a different camper from the same assembly line. That is why conductor testing skills are essential to the RV Technician.

LMAO.....I see myself whenever you are talking.I can start out just fine on a subject - then suddenly my head pops a related item in it and the next thing you know I am on something else...eventually getting back to the subject at hand...(Believe I am ADHD?) Also sometimes bright shiny things will do this to me as well..lol. Enjoyed your first 10 minute+ show and look forward to seeing me of them. Thanks to you and (Your staff helping you) with this, Nice job!!

AC/DC require different thought process. Red/Black is DC standard, Black/White is an AC standard. But you’re right, follow the path...

Be thankful you don't have to trace winnibego all yellow wiring, lots of fun

On the Winnebago yellow wiring , every 12- 18" you will find a stamped alpha-numeric code. Go to the Winnebago website download the code manual and you have the decoder ring for what all those yellow wires do.

Darren, you are correct, there is NO standard colors. I have 120v wires in my Tiffin motor home. Hot is YELLOW Neutral is White.

You'd think they make things so much easier by using the original electrical coded wires, or certain things a certain color wire..

My question concerns changing from a couch to theater seats in a slide. If I am changing the weight of what I sit on in the slide, will I mess up the operation of the slide? Also have you seen problems of utilities (sink, refrigerator, or stove) in a slide? Am I am being a worry wort about potential problems (water leaks, gas leaks, electrical cords bind or fray)?

Hi Ronald! Thanks for this question! We could either submit this to be answered in a video, or else you might be interested in our remote service. Will you email me at: tricia@myrvworks.com, subject "Question", so I can give you a little more detail about each? Thank you!

Please please tell me how to troubleshoot the automatic fans on the outside of the fridge. I used to hear them cycle on and off all the time and I haven't heard them in almost 2 weeks. Something isn't right 😔 I have a Norcold double door model in a slide out that has the upper and lower access panels. I've read it could be some external thermostat-like switch but I wouldn't have the 1st clue what to do

Always a hoot to watch you and listen to you! I love to learn. My question: my RV ac unit trips the breaker when the heat pump comes on. I went up and cleaned out the attic. Didn’t “see” anything wrong. Gas furnace works great. This is the first malfunction I’ve had on my 2005 Ford Winnebago Aspect 26c. Can you help? TIA

Hi Bill! Thanks for this! We can either add this to be addressed in a video, or else you might find our remote service a good option. Will you email me at: tricia@myrvworks.com with the subject line "Question" and I will explain each of these in more detail? Thanks!

Was it Winnebago 10-15 years ago that thought it was a good idea to make all the 12 volt wires in the whole coach all white and purple? That was fun.

Would you happen to know why my furnace sometimes does not turn on? I watched all your furnace videos but non of them show the same symptom as mine. When my thermostat clicks inside the rv I usually hear the furnace kick on after that but now i can only hear a single click from the furnace . This is the funny part, if I give it a light tap on the side of the furnace it will then turn on. Any idea what cause it to turn on after a light tap on the side?
