    Hey friends! Thank you for the feedback on this triple song format. A couple of you have helped me figure out why the camera cut out at the end. Turns out some Sony cameras have a max continuous recording time of 30 minutes which the original file was. So I should be better prepared for the next 'Human. :II: Nature' video. 😁👍

      I believe it has something to do with taxes. A 'stills' camera that takes video over 30 mins is classified as a video camera and so is taxed differently. I don't know if this is country specific (it was discussed on an american forum). It was along time ago so the specifics are a little hazy...

    Tuomas has a deep inclination towards science and this is reflected in many of his plays. This ensured the entry of Nightwish into the history books of science, several discoveries in the field being named after them. These new discoveries include: Alpenglow Rockshelter: Archaeological site named after Nightwish Song. Tanidromites Nightwishorun: New Crab species. Sciophila Holopaineni: New species of Mosquito found in Finland. Ophiomitrella Floorae: New species of Cretaceous brittle star named after Floor Jansen. Tmesisternus floorjansenae: new species of beetle named after Floor. Also, this song, "Shoemaker", has become a favorite song of NASA's scientific community.

I was overwhelmed/blown away the first time, a puddle of tears the 8th time and by now it's one of my favourite albums of all time. Music is amazing. I honestly believe there are few, if any, singers with the necessary lung capacity and breath control, to sing this live, apart from Floor. OK, we haven't heard it live yet, but we all know she will nail it! The instrumental section at the start has a Two Steps From Hell (TSFH as they are sometimes known) feel to it, and when Floor comes in, I get a Kate Bush vibe. Noise will take me a few watches to better appreciate. It certainly is a damning indictement of the current vacuous, self-obsessed, selfie culture. However, I feel there is hope at the end, when the camera pans up to show us what a beautiful world we have, if only we get up and explore it.
    Shoemaker is another Epic from Tuomas, made all the more powerful once you know the backstory. Regarding Floor's vocals, see my comments above! :-) Her operatic part at the end has the same effect on me as 'that note' in Ghost Love Score.
    Oh, and Emppu's guitar chuggs along like a juggernaut, with Kai tying the whole symphony together.
    Nightwish and Tuomas are incredible. The best just got better....

    I love how much Troy brings to the band. And how amazing an album for Marko to leave on really. He should be chuffed, it's a masterpiece. Tuomas doesn't even see bounds of convention I would do anything to get in his brain for a day. I feel like I would be so enlightened. Music brings us together, when we're alone it can comfort or inspire. This is why I've been really into going to gigs 30 years now. Yes I'm old as dirt. But I'm glad I got to experience so much & there's heaps more to go!

Anu's heavenly abode was over the North pole, but you will never grasp the importance until you look into the Saturn Sun, that is, Saturn was once a brown dwarf star over our north pole, our God Star. This glyph plainly showing a STAR becomes clear.

    Music: This is Music actually being the narrator: from the first sounds of space, on cave walls, to tribal drums and so forth. Real interesting is the scene where we see the Lyre, laying on the ground next it is a clay pot - referencing the first and oldest piece of written music ever discovered: called the "Hurrian Hymn No.6", (google) and there is a video on YT playing that piece.
    "The Hurrian Hymn was discovered in the 1950s on a clay tablet inscribed with Cuneiform text. It’s the oldest surviving melody and is over 3400 years old. The hymn was discovered on a clay tablet in Ugarit, now part of modern-day Syria, and is dedicated the Hurrians’ goddess of the orchards Nikkal."

    'Human :||: Nature (2020)', a superb album but not a 'new sound' for Nightwish, it's Nightwish paying homage to / returning to / exploring their very early roots on many songs but backed up by nearly 25 years (1996 to present day) worth of experience and technical proficiency....
    Tuomas really pushed the band from a technical perspective on 'Human :||: Nature (2020)' e.g. Emppu expressed concerns with Pan live (interesting as there are more technically demanding guitar parts in other Nightwish songs), many of Floor's vocal parts are challenging with quick successive changes and Kai the drummer added 5 new drums to his set so he can fulfill his and Tuomas' vision for songs such as Tribal.
    EDIT: UA-cam mobile formatting

  • @billattercliffe8655
    @billattercliffe8655 3 роки тому +5

    I shoot a lot of video using anywhere from three to five mirrorless cameras. There are four reasons why they stop recording: overheating which is usually a 4K problem avoideded by using 1080P, a FAT32 4GB file size problem, EU tax code 30 minute limit, and the battery runs out of juice.
    Your camera stopped at the 26 minute mark which suggests that it hit the 4GB limit of the FAT32 file system that SD cards are usually formatted to accept. This is something we cannot change as the FAT32 file system cannot handle a file larger than 4GB.
    Alternatives:
    - downgrade the video quality in your camera so that it takes longer to hit the 4GB file size limit. Usually then we hit the EU tax code problem or we run out of battery.
    - take a clean HDMI output from the HDMI port in the camera and output it to a recorder. This is an expensive option, but eliminates all of the limits mentioned above except battery and even then it effectively doubles the battery life as the camera is barely working to produce the HDMI signal. Use an A/C adapter for your camera with a recorder and all four are eliminated.

    • @ThomFoolery1
      @ThomFoolery1  3 роки тому

      Hey there, thanks so much for the tips. I'm not sure what happened. I've shot plenty of videos over 4 GB in size and a couple that were over 30 minutes. It didn't overheat or turn off as it was plugged in so it's a bit perplexing. The camera has been quite heavily used now and has been glitching a bit lately. Might try your tip and shoot 1080p for the next long one. Cheers 👍

    I really did enjoy the 3 song format. This album, I think, was made to listen to in sequence. The compositions are related to one another in a particular order and one feeds into the next. The best option is, of course, to hear the whole thing at once. Failing that, doing it in 3 song bursts is a good choice. BTW I enjoyed your reaction.

    Hi Thomas, as you've likely heard, Floor used to be a vocal coach and one of her students for two years, Noa Gruman, has an up and coming Symphonic/prog metal band called Scardust. Check out their song "Gone" off their new album to hear some high notes and even a growl that could be influenced by Floor. Also they have a keyboardist, bassist, and guitar player with some mad skills pulling in musical influences from a variety of styles.

    The cuneiform symbol means something like God & man/woman or Human :II: Nature, with God being nature and taking prominence over mankind. An Ode to Eugene Shoemaker, an American geologist and one of the founders of the field of planetary science. He co-discovered Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with his wife Carolyn S. Shoemaker and David H. Levy. Great job Thomas. I loved it so much. This album is quite a journey and touches on almost all aspects of what it means to be human and the complications and choices life brings to each of us. It also deals with how we live our lives out and impact on the nature and the world on which we exist. See yo soon my friend.🎶🎶🎶😊🤘✌

    Tuomas told at Album's hearing session to the reporters the meaning of the symbol.
    "The cover of Nightwish’s Human: II: Nature album features two of the oldest known symbols for the words human and nature. - Lower is an Assyrian arrowhead -writing 700 years before the Common Era and means human. The upper is not really nature but a God and is a symbol of the Sumerians in 2,500 BCE (before the Common Era)."

    ❤ This was a great journey with you Thomas,thank you for that! I'm glad you got such good interpretations of the songs. I love the symbolism in the song 'Noise'- life is to short and to prescious to spill by all the 'outside' stuff and 'noise'... So often we aren't aware the silence and overlook the beauty around us of life. Social media etc has us strangled in a sort of parallel life of lies of so called 'thís is beauty and thís is perfect'... How many lost themselves by it and not living this real and prescious life? Damn,i want to say so much things but my brains don't allow me to find the right words in English 🥴. By the way,what a surprise at the end of the song 'Shoemaker',right?! It catches me every single time,its stunning. I really enjoyed your reactions, again 🤗 Take care and have a nice rest of the weekend. Love from the Netherlands, Denise 😘

    The recurring symbol in the videos is actually the album title, written in cuneiform. It makes sense since several songs on the album deal with the beginnings of mankind - so it's fitting to use the first known writing system for the title.
    Also, Shoemaker may or may not be performed in the live shows. Floor has mentioned once or twice in the past that it may be too difficult for her to perform it live.

    Don't mind your camera just quitting it in face of such awe. Shoenaker just gives me the bumps every time and I so, so much admire the work that went into making it the special piece of Art it is . For you it only had been your camera that stopped working while listening to it for the 1st time... I actually did cause a minor traffic jam, because I made the mistake of listeing to this song randomly, but for the 1st time ever, in my car and just unconciousnessly stopped driving and just beeing mind blown... don't do that! 😇

    The symbol is cuneiform oldest documented writing system. The top part above the line is the symbol "An, Anu, (sky)". The bottom part looks like a mix of the writings for "woman" and "man". I suppose it kinda represents the name of the album or the nature of the album.
