We've talked about the anime Gegege no Kitaro a LOT on this channel with it's biting satire of Logan Paul, and the obsession in Japan of beauty and overworking. But with Halloween right around the corner, I want to talk about the five yokai monsters in this show that put "scary" movie monsters like Freddy or Jason to absolute SHAME!

I know some of you angry, but I wanted to try the premiere feature because I'd love to chat with you guys WHILE it's playing! Maybe do a follow up stream for Q&A! Thought it could be fun.
I don't see why people would be angry about the premiere function, it's literally just livestreaming the video as it's released so you can talk about it. XD
My favorite episode of ge ge ge no kitaro is actually episode 6. That episode almost made me cry!
How about awnser me this. In Yo-Kai watch, one of the hidden bosses is Wobblewok. A Yo-Kai feared by everyone personified as a black blob inside of a wok with massive teeth that seem to all be molars and eyes that can change to either blue or red, and has the ability when eyes are red are invulnerable to physical attacks while when his eyes are blue are invulnerable to all the types of magic. Please explain what type of yo kai Wobblewok truly is.
Yokai are freaking terrifying and sad :(
Well how else are we to get hyped for a new Gaijin Goombah video?
*The scariest demon out is D E M O N E T I Z A T I O N*
noice
I wonder if there's a demon that possesses someone and turns them into callous businessmen with terrible business practices...
Can't spell demonetisation without demon
Of course it is.
You can't spell Demonetization without Demon
EDIT: @Danistormborn God dammit I just realized you said it too, I'm sorry
This must be the work of -an enemy stand- a youkai!
3:03 so you mean to tell me Kappa mastered the ancient art of E A T I N G A S S ?
You mean the ancient martial arts started by Geeks and nerds
@James Mayorga im getting at the ancient martial art started by geeks and nerds
They bring that ass
hermit purple nice name.
The originators of eating the booty like groceries.
What's happening with the yokai is very similar to happen to the fae. The old legends said the fae were nothing to mess with, but now they are sweet little pixies.
I like media that depicts Faeries as chaotic neutral at best and downright sociopaths at worst. That's part of why I enjoyed The Ancient Magus Bride last year.
That is naturel proces or becoming familiar with sources of fear. Same thing happened with many things. Vampires, Zombies, Werewolf's, Unicorns and other abominations like that.
I was actually going to comment about that myself. I think it's pretty interesting when you dig up a little information on what fae were originally described as. Maleficent from Sleepy Beauty, the one who put a death curse on a newborn because she wasn't invited to the celebration? Fae. The one responsible for the curse placed on the Beast and all the inhabitants of his castle? Fae...who did it because he was rude. And from what I understand, those are some of the less sadistic examples >_>
I got introduced to Yokai in anime like Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho, which were dubbed as "demons". Not entirely inaccurate, but also dismissive to their true nature!
Fey, Yokai, Holy, Unholy, Spiritual, Magical...all of these traditions are simple permutations of ontological data. They are simple geographical landmarks of the world in which I live: the imagination ecosystem of the collective unconscious. It's not much different from dummied content in a video game.
Basically
Gegege no Kitaro is a show that deserves to be talked about. It has creepy, sometimes disturbing monsters, a mysterious overarching plot, lessons to teach, and surprisingly good fight scenes.
The scariest yokai to me is the Gashadokuro (or starving skeleton). The idea of a giant skeleton chasing you wanting to drink your blood is terrifying enough, but then it can also become invisible and is indestructible. The only way to for it to be defeated is to wait for it dissipate by itself, as its fueled on such intense anger and hatred that its soul(s?) eventually burns out.
Then there's the silly ones. Like that one that looks like a woman holding a baby, but then she hands you the baby and it's just a very heavy rock or something. 😆
AND ITS KAIJU SIZED
The Gashadokuro inspired both the counterparts of Rito Repulso (MMPR Season 3) and the Skullgators (Ninja Steel).
Well, there is always Hone-onna, a literal skeleton waifu. Then again, it's not really violent, just freaky to everyone else.
I LOVE the Gashadokuro. There's one single individual i heard that could control it, that being Takiyasha-hime. Who summoned it during war with her frog magic.
Yeah, the yokai of today are like how fairies are portrayed today. They are more harmless and innocent than they were originally conceived as. It would actually be interesting to see a series where the Yokai and Fair Folk interacted with one another.
Well....the current arc of Kitaro is the Yokai vs western monsters like Carmilla and the werewolf.
92JazzQueen
Plus stuff like jinn as well.
I just thought of this awesome concept. Full scale war between the fey and yokai, with a small group of humans caught in the middle.
Think the war between the midnight crew and the felt from homestuck as a good comparison.
jared bumblecrum
Perhaps also have the jinn and shedim involved? Would perhaps make the war a more complex affair. Call it “Unseen Conflicts”, a series of various factions of creatures warring over the world.
Monsters in general haven't been scary norr dangerous in dacades!
Not even in media!
Damn, I didn't know stands were actually just yokai possessing people.
@@nimnimsela2608 it is a persona rEfErEncE
Basically yes.
You really love JoJo, don't you?
This isn't jojo
Kujo did say a ghost was haunting him.
Maybe youkai's cutesy portrayal is all part of their plan to win over the hearts of humanity, to make it easier to hunt and kill!
You over-interpret things. It isn't a Christian sect to act that way (seriously, those people are creeps). Yo-Kai are just personifications of different sources of fear, and over time people become less afraid by stuff like that. If hunting would really happen people would be still afraid of them. Also if you didn't noticed most possessed people are deeply religious, not those who lough from people afraid of Exorcist movie and local RPG community.
@@TheRezro wait, what?! I was joking around, what do Christian sects have to do with any of this?
@@asalways1504 I also was joking. Though hypocrisy and bias of some Christians is infamous.
@@TheRezro oh, okay then, you had me worried for a second, but I totally understand what you mean.Thank you for clearing that up
@@TheRezro that's the human race in general
Personally, I'd love to see you do a sub-series on yokai if you felt up to it and had the time.
Ditto I love researching them, but I love this channel too, and I think it’d be wonderful, if of course you had the time and felt up to it
Oh Kitsune, Bake Neku, Hone Onna, Yuki Onna... I'd love to see them discussed
@Txtspeak Hone Onna is the bone lady. Imagine a beautiful woman, who seems destined to a great life loosing everything, before she gets a chance and she simply just won't accept her fate. She tries to still hang out with her friends and family, but they either see through her masque of beauty, or simply know better than to play with dead things... perhaps worse thy don't know of her demise and start to get sick and fade away... after a while she develops a grudge against the living and lures young men into her trap to steal their life force....
I would also like to see a series on youkai. One of my favorites is actually the rokurokubi, or long-necked woman.
He did
If ever there was a Japanese equivalent to ghostbusters or witchers, I think I can afford to be confident in saying they did NOT get paid enough for this!
Yokai Watch...out they're actually going to rip your soul out your butt and eat it!
Onmyo Mages were the Japanese ghostbusters. Through the use of Feng Shui, sacred geometry, Buddhist rituals, incense, and other such things, they were able to ward off malevolent spirits. Many Japanese cities were actually designed with the repulsion of evil spirits in mind. The roads would be arranged in specific patterns, the buildings would be built if specific materials and in specific shapes, and the location of the city itself would be chosen to keep bad spirits away. Also, those red wooden gates that I'm sure you've seen in anime are made of sacred wood, painted with blessed paint, and placed on the busiest roads so that evil spirits can't sneak past by possessing a human or mimicking one.
@@josh-oo Oh gee wilickers, I have been culture shocked!
Devil Hunter Yokho?
Even Pokemon and Megami Tensei series are inspired by one of Onmyo techniques. The technique, Kuda-Kitsune, is done by trapping and using a type of yokai for minor errands.
Strangely enough, Gegege is probably the missing link for the cute Disney mscot version characters popularized today. The comic and the first five anime were extremely popular and influential, and while they had a dark edge, there were monsters in need of slaying, Medama-Oyaji's backstory was creepy as heck, a big part of the series was based on a young kid just hanging out with a bunch of ghosts and monsters, playing hide and seek in a graveyard or baseball with the local school children. The current series is the one that seems to really wanna scare the bejeezus out of the munchkins.
I can't help but be reminded of Shin Megami Tensei for some reason. Some of these Yokai are in the games.
Yeah the Gyuuki has definately been seen in the Raidou games as a member of the Wilder Race and a One-eyed Kappa monster is a member of the Brute Race
Hey Gaijin, you may not read this, but I was wondering if you could possibly do a video about the Kitsune. It's one of my favorite myths, but I still don't really know all that much about it. I try and find sources to find more about it, but I can't find any real good ones. And also considering how it's used in a lot of media and character designs nowadays (like Ahri from LOL) it would be interesting to know the truth about where is started. Hell, I know next to nothing about the Korean myth! So once again, you probably won't read this, but if you end up doing a video on it, I'd be very grateful.
Yes!
They cover both on Wikipedia but it's kind of generalized so idk how helpful it would be...
...*thinking about how some people compare kitsune to succubi* ....bleep it their still cool
I have read the Wikipedia article already. but honestly, there's more I want to learn about it, and more I just don't quite understand. And it's popular in a lot of things so I feel like it could make a good episode.
@@darienb1127 agreed.
Hmm... The intro about how the image of Yokai has changed over time reminds me of how the image of Fairies has changed. Heck, there was a time when children who started showing signs, that would today be diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum or having a similar condition , were tortured, abandoned or even killed for being changelings.
5:36 As a madman once said: Never trust a tanuki!
Way I tend to see it with youkai is that they're like any other creature, each one is an individual with their own personalities and motivations, some aren't friendly at all some might be, it just so happens the legends were written about the mean ones.
EDIT: Ok, earlier legends.
Word itself referee to spooky paranormal phenomena (so something like creepy-pasta). It can include even things like UFO. They most common form as monsters and inspiriting spirits is mostly from old compilation books.
*Stops everything to watch a Gaijin Goombah video on Gegege no Kitaro the Weekend before Halloween* ...magical~🎃
And i just watched the new episode literally taking place on Halloween, it's a good day 😄🎃
I actually like that he talks about this anime. It goes back that a kid's show is meant to be showing everyone that problems can be with everyone. Teaching them once they are older of the problems in society and to accept themselves. I wish some 'mature' media had that. Teaching you life lessons instead of going batshit on drama. Yeah, I get that it's for plot but some adults do need a good look at society and themselves.
Hope you happy Gaijin literally got me watching that whole damn show at 12 in the morning.
I didn’t get a notification for this but thank god I look at the home page
Kubire-Oni reminds me of that one girl from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable with the hair that can kill people and wanted the character Koichi to forcefully love her.
You mean Yukako?
Huh, so that's what the yugioh card Usho Oni came from
You just figured that out
Only speaking for myself, I've long grabbed Vrv to solely watch Gegege No Kitaro. It happened when going to a local comic shop for Comicfest around Halloween time that I got a free issue of a translated Gegege No Kitaro, from it's original run, that I was fascinated by the concept as well as the weird art; surprised to learn it held a legacy in manga and Japan. Picky about the modernizing of character designs in the current series, but I at most enjoy the series! I try to recommend it to my friends who love shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural
The episode about the yokai cat and the old lady made me crying prefuselly that I say ''Nope, I will not watch this anime again'' and I still afraid to watch it 'till now
I cried like a baby during that entire episode! I did continue to watch, and what I've seen so far wasn't as sad. But admittedly I haven't watched many.
You spelled "profusely" wrong
I'd always wondered what would happen if doomguy was put against yokai... I think the yokai would end up with PTSD
Doomslayer catches a case of tanuki-tsuki...
Now over 9,000 times more scary and dangerous!
At least everything in that world seems to be corporeal. Not sure if doomguy can survive onslaught of mental attacks from demons, depicted as in catholic addendum.
@@uljk5699 to be fair hes already crazy so i doubt making him even more crazy will help

Kiyohime is a character I honestly do want to know more about, too
One of my favorite anime that could be seen as showing just how horrifying Yokai are supposed to be is Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma.
As you were introing this episode my thoughts trailed off to that fabulous classic as a great example of what you were describing. I don't yet know enough about Yokai on a per species(?) basis to really identify if specific ones were featured in Blood Reign, but the brutal horrifying nature of each Yoma is certainly derivative of various Yokai.
Only recently become really interested in yokai and your videos are the only ones on youtube that i can count on to teach me more. Thank you.
Would absolutely love to see more videos on yokai.
I hate these new premier things. I got excited for a new Gaijin video and it’s like dangling a carrot in front of a horse.
5:35 That poor Tanuki.😨😢
I love all the yokai and the stories they bring. I would love a yokai in depth sub series. Also, thank you for all the wonderful content you put out. I always get excited when one of your videos pops up in my feed.
I legit can't get enough of GeGeGe no Kitaro. I legit love your videos on this show.
EDIT: Also, I love Matthew Meyers books. If anyone is interested in the topic of Yokai, check his stuff out.
one of the most overlooked aspects of the Yokai is that the Yokai have gone beyond the boarders of Japan having been seen in the state of Hawaii
*Tanuki:* So, short the ears and the increased libido, I'm really just possessed by a Tanuki? And here I was, taking these antidepressants. 😜 Maybe that's why I like it so much and did so well at anime cons dressed up as one?
*Wanyudo:* I didn't mind the so much when playing *Okami,* but, when I battled it in *Muramasa: The Demon Blade,* my heart could barely take it.
Suggestion for the new year. The yokai Namahage of the Oga Peninsula. I like how teenage boys would dress as them to visit kid's home to help parents impart important lessons to learned for the new year and get some beer out of the deal.
when i first watched Kubire-ono's curse i was horrified the first few minutes of it i had to take a step back and collect myself before i watched the rest of it. it wasn't the fact that i was scared of the message i was just shocked how graphic they got and being the victim of bullying myself and someone who suffers from depression and bipolar disorder it just hit really close to home for me.
Tanuki are my favorite yokai too, both benevolent and antagonistic.
Its too bad for my players that this video aired whist I was writing a DnD campaign... They will know the fear of the Wanyudo....
ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 was one of my childhood companions - not the recent remake but the old black & white and color versions. I read some of the original Mizuki Shigeru's manga, too. I have both good and not-so-good memories all together. It helped me to know and understand the 妖怪, but it also scared me at the same time. (I think I was traumatized by one episode with a vampire called Elite playing guitar and showing his sharp teeth...) As you say, ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 takes many roles in each era, giving information, teaching morals and how to deal with the human nature good and bad, and entertaining us. Thank you for sharing!
hey have you seen akuma kun
@@a-dub6434 well, I watched anime called Dororon Enmakun 「ドロロンえん魔くん」(original characters by Nagai Gou 永井豪), but it seems not be the one you talked about, I think.
I never mind an episode on Gegege. I first heard of it from here and fell in love the moment I started watching it. I really wish more shows would be as clever as Gegege as kids need to learn these sort of lessons. Also, it's just brilliant story telling.
Enchant angels from bayonetta seem to be inspired by wanyudou, i guess that you learn something new every day
Generally most Japanese media use Gnosticism as it can be safely bastardized without any risk outside some pseudo-Christian fundamentalists too stupid to notice that isn't they religion.
Actually, not all yokai are evil, even in their original myths and legends. Zashiki-warashi (childlike beings) provide people with good fortune if you find one in your house and play with them, and while Kamaitachi (weasels with sickles for hands) will leave scars on your legs while always making sure to stop the bleeding beforehand (which is less "evil" and more "sadistic rascal"), and these are just a few examples.
Also, what's wrong with having yokai that are more friendly? Who wouldn't want to date a Yuki-onna?!
Hey you forgot the most terrifying creature lurking at Japan....
*THE WEABOO.*
personally Gaijin, I would love to see a sub-series about japanese yokai! I've always enjoyed mythology and seeing achannel explain them in detail would be great!
How the actual hell do they get away with showing this stuff to kids?! And why can't everywhere else be like that?!
I've started watching this show because of you, Goomba. the theme song is pretty darn catchy. Haven't got too far into yet, only started the second episode.
Every time you make a Gegege no Kitaro video, it only makes me want to watch it more. Unfortunately for me though, my laptop is broken and I can’t watch things that aren’t already on Netflix or UA-cam.
*4:50** Damn...this raccon got balls*
It is in fact type of traveling bag.
This episode makes me want a Grimm style show with a focus on Yo-Kai as opposed to Wessen.
For all he Youkai that exist in folklore, my favourite is still the humble Tsukumogami. Both for the concept of objects coming to life, and because they are such an excellent storytelling/character basis. You can spin them any way you want, whether positive or negative.
I appreciate that at the least the add tied in to exactly what Giajin was talking about and felt very natural.
Orochi from Okami is my favorite yokai. The idea of a giant multi-headed talking snake is terrifying enough without that imitating yet memorable roar of his.
"nurarihyon no mago" is good about yokai also. i love things talking about yokai because they're so different then what most of us grew up with.
as far as yokai go two of the scariest for me would have to be the Umi-Bozu(sea-monk) and Gashadokuro. a sea-dwelling yokai who resembles a monk and appears as a titanic ghostly figure rising out of the water(or is made out of water) and in some cases perpetually smiling. according to folklore and myth, this spirit is easily angered and would attack anyone who dared speak to it.
As for the Gashadokuro, well it's a massive skeleton made up of the bones of many people who died without a proper burial. it's a violent being who would attack anyone nearby, bite off their heads and drink their blood. they're said to be relentless and indestructible, luckily they aren't too stealthy as it is said that they make alot of noise while moving.
I find things like Yokai and such fascinating, and would personally love to see Gaijin make a series based on them, since I know there's some stuff out there I just don't know yet.
Thanks for giving Freakazoid a shout out!
Doesn't fillia from Skullgirls eerily resemble the Futakuchi-Onna now that I think about it? You know, the yokai with the huge mouth at the back of its head?
_hears description of the Kubire-oni_
*ARE YOU SURE THIS IS A KID'S SHOW?*
Makes me wonder if the Kubire-oni were the inspiration for Junji Ito's "Hanging Blimp/Balloons?
I wish you'd talk more on mythos and monsters from other cultures. There's just so much juicy stuff to see from all over the world. Like the Aoabadon? I'm certain I misspelled that. The Youkai who stabs and eats children's livers. Light novels like The Zashiwi Warai of the Intellectual Village and manga like Nuraryhyon no Mago have gotten me really into this type of stuff, so it would be super hype to discover more. Not just from my own research but from someone far more well versed in this than I.
i'm so glad i made that decision to sub to you some years ago. that you for doing what you do. being an off spring of two cultures, I really appreciate you taking the time to educate others from both the anglo-american and admirer & respecter of Japanese culture and people. Thank you so much. ..HUUUGS..
Dude can you make this into a series? I love being scared by stories of old yokai
You know, I'd like to see them handle the three legendary youkai of Japan.
Man id kill for a youkai splatbook for dnd.
I know this is an old video, but I like watching these Yokai Hunters videos. It inspires my own research and curiosity.
1:18, Looks like we found the inspiration for Jeff the Killer's smile! =|
Come on, ya'll thought the same when ya seen that image too, didn't ya?! \=)
What evil yokai suggested you use the premier feature?
Whatever one that takes on the unwise decisions
I AM HERE!!!
I agree on that statement, modern media coddles children a little too much
we need some hard knocks and morals back in there
Hey gaijin there’s a book out there you might want to check out called One Thousand Monters of the Anno Dracula series there are A TON of youkai and other Japanese supernatural things in this book everything from yuki onna to an onmyoji are in this book
Every time I watch a GG video I get reminded of how awesome VRV sounds and how so NOT available in my country is u_u

AAAHHH, precious pig man from Warriors Orochi 😍
The Kubire-Oni is depression itself, right?
Hola gaijin, what would you think about doing a italiano culture vídeo about jojo part 5?
And also wich yokai confirmed
The Kappa episode was pretty funny when they pulled Kitaros ass sphere out. Also love seeing a GeGeGe No Kitaro 2018 video on UA-cam. The Wanyudou were also enemies in Okami.
When you really get down to it learning about head yokai especially the last one in their fullest darkest depictions really makes you look at them as actual demons..if that doesn't I don't know what does.
On a semi-related note, recent episodes of the series have, much like previous iterations of the series, featured Kitaro and co. having to deal with the appearance of foreign yokai in Japan, particularly western yokai. It seems almost fitting for us Westerners that the show would pit Kitaro against witches, a werewolf, a vampire, and Frankenstein around Halloween. Any thoughts on this?
I know it was probably just a throw away line, but an entire series on this subject would be great
This puts Mario's Tanuki suit in a completely different light.
As a big time Okami fan, many of these are not too much surprise to me... except the #1 spot... yikes! Also, nice job on being as tasteful as possible with the Kappa and Tanuki spots. :D Well done! Tell your adorable Ninja goomba I said hi! Love the One Piece Wano Country breakdown and the Kawaii Culture video as well! Looking forward to more! :D
I was thinking of doing a Japan-esque adventure as legacy content within my homebrew setting. 'Kami no Namida no Shima,' or Islands of the Gods' Tears is the name of the area across the northeastern sea from my world's main hub-town on the mainland. I had to fight with Google Translate to get at least something viable.
Neither of my campaign groups have reached the islands yet, but I guess the current circumstances allows me to properly populate the islands with youkai and give them the right homebrew stats, while my current surviving group adventures elsewhere.
Just imagine what Kitsune could be capable of in this anime.
Can we get a video about the absolutely most terrifying Yokai out there? It's hard to find since they are often super evil, but there has got to be some that are just a bit above the rest
I love youkai and would love you to make a video of my favorite one Kitsune
I think it has a lot to say about it, maybe the difference between the Korean and the Japanese counterpart also the many different type not only of kitsune but also of fox youkai, they are the best
Generally there is not many differences between Chinese, Korean and Japanese fox spirits, as myth originated from one source being mostly homogeneous. The main difference is that Japanese distinguish two types: Yako, what are generally mischievous spirits similar to Chinese legends, but also Zenko who are servants of goddess Inari and as such obedient. Specific subspecies of Kitsune aren't really that different outside power level so I skip detail.
Only relevant exception is one infamous nine tailed fox (fun fact, Chinese legends generally consider those as benevolent guardian spirits) which signature trait was white fur in opposition to usual gold one (generally term Fox Spirit/húli jīng/Nine-Tails/kumiho/kyubi refere to him specifically.. and it was dude, as for some reason they tend to posses opposite sexes). It was so malicious that it cause mass genocides in China, India and Japan (plus is associated with cruelty, torture, and eating human harts to keep human form or beauty depending on source). It posses young Chinese consort known as Daki, who after manipulating and seducing rulers and causing fall of kingdoms in China and India, finally reach Japan where under name Tamamo-no-Mae was exposed by samurai and finally slain turning in toxic stone (Sessho-seki) what was issue for ages until some monk finally exorcised it.
That is generally most important knowledge about those. Outside stuff like that demonic possessions are usually blamed on Yako, and they have orb known as Star Ball similar to one owned by dragons and unicorns. But that is mostly minor stuff.
Hey Gaijin Goombah,
Do you plan speaking about Hoozuki no Reitetsu?
Oh... Shirikodama... I just watch Sarazanmai, now all make sense...
You can talk about Gegege no Kitaro any time. It's awesome! :)
Daddy eyeball once said “if you curse someone dig two graves”
super video gaijinboomba I loved it even gave me shivers down the spine kkkkk always keep up the good work I love your videos and I hope these youtube nonsense stop working on your channel but you can tell that I'm always going to watch all your videos even if you have to search for them every day. You are the best ^^
Geez, do I remember the Wanyudo of Phantasy Star Online 2. I had to hold them off as a measly Level 20 hunter at Naberius. They ended up knocking me out various times and took FOREVER to take down themselves.
I also highly recommend Natsume Yuujinchou as an anime. It's really heartwarming and sweet. There are some scary moments too but mostly it's about a lonely boy who does his best to be kind to both humans and youkai, plus he learns there are people (and youkai) who genuinely care for him.
Just listening to you talk about your number one Yokai... DAMN that's some solid social commentary about social media and how apps like Instagram, Snapchat, etc can drive you to commit suicide due to the depression and anxiety that comes from perceiving others as having a better life then you.
Could you do an episode on Shantae, positing what type of (half)genie she (or more specifically, her mother) actually is?
This was a great episode and I love learning about these guys. To think we'd get a show so accurate in how yokai were in history.
I decided to check this show out later next week. I'm going to try and watch as much of this season as I can on the first and second of November and catch up on my own time.
A really, SUPER interesting episode. I’m totally down for more like this!
Keep it up Goomba!
speaking of the yokai watch series, have you herd they are doing a somewhat grittier version called "yokai watch shadow side"? I haven't seen it yet but its suppose to fallow the events of yokai watch a couple of years after the series to with the yokai have their "friendly forms" and whenthey become enraged or seek to fuel on evil they turn into their true "shadow side" versions.
Now, I wanna see a video discussing the demons from the Inuyasha series.
