Even though I no longer own any drums, I still have sticks and do these exercises just in case I get behind a kit again.

Real nice Clark. Lol. I am no where near this capability but I am practicing daily with Drumeo. Thanks again for that free 30 day kickstart i needed with them.

This is going to be my new daily warmup! Love it. (Though I may have to dial the tempo back a bit for some of the rudiments 😉.

Loving watching the progress, would you consider doing a video on how you've went about developing the tommy igo warm up, I'd watch a deep dive on the process of training!

    Lol
    Andrew your are really good.
Remember drum rooms on the way.......
So please hold that prize you said you had for me if possible !
It's probably the plastic tip from drum stick but that's cool.
    Drumming With Saul
    will be the name.
    Chow for now !

I like exercises like this, because it allows you to keep your dominant hand in shape, while also giving you the opportunity to work on your weaker hand. I might do two single strokes with my right hand, and six or ten with my left.

Just saw a 54minute interview with Danny Carey where he spoke of needing to warm up.

Do you have the stick ahead or behind the lowest knuckle of your pointer?
I find if I put it ahead on that middle pad of the finger (more common & natural), I play slower with more potential tension I have to shed & less power than if it's behind that knuckle.
Behind that knuckle while I gain a lot of speed, my range of motion involving my fingers is greatly reduced because how the top of my fingers need to curl in. My wrist ends up absorbing more impact & is also more active for mid-high 96-108 tempos.
It does however, equalize my power of my weak hand, & is a super consistent way for me to grip the stick. I've only done this on pad though, & I wonder how my cymbal chokes are affected.
