Any fast charger for a battery is terrible for the battery. The batteries useful life is diminished every time it's "fast charged" Get ready to spend big bucks to replace them.
This is not true with today's tech. Fast charging occurs in two phases. Phase 1 is the fast charge which will take you up to about 80%. Phase 2 is a slow charge to prevent harm to the battery. This was implemented in phone batteries 7-8 years ago and is standard in all car batteries too.
Over the years, I have bought several Chinese made pieces of equipment. The steel rusts, the rubber rots, and the plastic disintegrates. Cheap and inferior is more like it.
There's all levels of manufacturing in China, from horrible to high end. Their big automakers make very good quality cars (just like other manufacturers it varies from one to another) with long warranties. I have owned a Chinese car for 6 years and never had any major issue, just replacing fluids every now and then and it would be the equivalent of 130k miles so far.
What's the big deal? I paid $20,500 for my 08 V8 Tundra NEW. Still running strong after 77,000 miles. If they can build a full size V8 truck for $20k, a basic car should cost no more than. $15k
My crappy German VW Jetta from 2008 still runs with 53k miles on it. Its expensive to maintain at $2,500/year on top of maintenance recently. I strongly dislike it but its overall reliable outside of the past couple years for repairs cost... Can't afford a new car until maybe late 2027-2029 next probably. I agree a basic car shouldn't cost more than $15k for a decent reliable one.
There is not any vehicle brand new or newer that is not made as cheaply as possible and will fail in many different ways long before it should. Sometimes a person will get lucky and get a decent one. If you don't know how to work on them yourself you will be at the mercy of garages charging a minimum of $160 per hour and their mark up of parts.

In SEA theyre selling a quirky ev for 25k, when its a slightly upgraded 6k car. Its the wild west in pricing. (The cars are wuling airev vs their hongguang mini)
Why should we be excited? It's an electric car that most people don't want, and it's not even available here anyway. If it were a gasoline powered car with a 6 cylinder engine and sold in the U.S. for 20 thousand dollars, THAT would be exiting but no such luck, American manufacturers absolutely don't want you driving an inexpensive reliable ice car.
Toyota was the last of the JDM "Big 3" to open a plant in the USA. Honda/Maryville, OH in '82, Nissan Smyrna, TN in summer '83, and finally Toyota in Georgetown, KY in May of '86.
and they always put their factories in hillbilly areas, b/c the labor is cheap. Alabama, Tennesse, Kentucky, Texas, West Virginia (Toyota plant). I don't know of any foriegn car factories in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, or California.
@@skymningforelsket1302 It's cheap because those are "right to work" states where the unions don't own their state and federal politicians. Two ways of doing a similar task. BTW, cost of living in most all of those "union" states is through the roof. Hard pass.

A good example of why tariffs simply don't serve the consumers' needs. What are the odds, with tariffs on Chinese EVs in the US and Canada, that an EV built domestically will ever be under $20k USD? Zero! Also, with Trump likely to impose a 25% tariffs on most Canadian made goods entering the US, that's going to do nothing but increase the cost for any domestically made gas powered car too since auto parts supply chain integration between our countries is so pervasive. If the CAD dollar wasn't already in the crapper, I'd import a 3 year old Telsa model 3 from Washington for about $16k USD. Instead, I'm going to keep burning fossil fuels because new EVs are unaffordable for most middle income Canadians and things are only going to get worse during the Trump administration.
you have to pay tariffs on goods imported from US to other countries, so it’s only fair that we have tariffs on goods imported to US from other countries… tariffs are here to protect domestic production and workers … only thing I care about is US , can’t care less about Canada , China or anyone else …
I’m not paying 60K+ for an EV because my government won’t let me buy a cheaper one made in China. Not buying a new gas car either, since that’s what they want.
The Chinese have massively subsidized their EV, wind, and solar industries. Plus that, the workers are asked to work at a non-living wage. And they have completed whole supply chains. This all spells trouble for American companies that must compete with cheaper and cheaper EVs and plug ins from China. On top of that, Trump wants to get rid of the EV tax credit, giving our companies even less hope of competing with China in the long run. In my mind, the solution is "initiation is the sincerest form of flattery". We need the tax credit, and we need incentives for batteries to be made here. We might need some small tariffs to even the field a little, and we need to push our auto industry to make small cars and not just try to force us to buy ships on wheels.
I'd love a new Mazda 6 sedan with a V6 and manual transmission, even a non-CVT auto-transmission. I'll "Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!" all over the place in it. Sorry, no EV cars for me. The only place I need a battery-powered vehicle is at the golf course.
They love the Mazda MX-30 in the EU; an all electric car with a gas motor [weird car since the engine is used to charge the battery pack and is NOT connected to any wheels] and the EU car of the year went to an electric Jeep Avenger a car that you can't get in the U.S..
Just like the 20k Toyota has GM crapping their pants? No shot a brand new car (and an EV at that) hits the US for 20k. I'd bet 20k on that. Then, maybe I could afford a brand new car.
Couldn't care less if they were $200...and even if I was in the market for an EV, I sure as hell would not be supporting the Chinese economy...sticking with my Miata... Zoom Zoom 🤙
Scotty, no, no LOL no you are making me laugh too hard, can't catch my breath. A 20k decent reliable plain car? Ain't gonna happen. They will put a couple bells and whistles on it and try to retail for at least 28K if not over 30k. Ford Maverick? Same thing will be done with the FJ and it will probably be 60k

@@NVRAMboi um, I don't think West Virginia's labor is cheap because there are no unions. The labor is cheap b/c the population is impoverished due to their stupidity, corruption, and backwards ways.
@@skymningforelsket1302 Unions
@@robertthomas1569 yeah. Heaven forfend American workers should have unions and get decent pay and pensions. Better to import a bunch of cheap junk from overseas, and have your fellow countrymen live in poverty so that eventually they can't even afford the cheap imported junk. Race to the bottom, it's a helleva toboggan ride DERP
What is the 0'60 AND 1/4 mile
Honda began building Accords in Marysville,Ohio since 1982.
🐂💩
Move on, TRUMP!!
you have to pay tariffs on goods imported from US to other countries, so it’s only fair that we have tariffs on goods imported to US from other countries… tariffs are here to protect domestic production and workers … only thing I care about is US , can’t care less about Canada , China or anyone else …
@@damirzanne America and Americans first
Vote trudeau out and things will get better for Canadians
I’m not paying 60K+ for an EV because my government won’t let me buy a cheaper one made in China. Not buying a new gas car either, since that’s what they want.
But you're always saying EVs are a scam. Have you changed your mind? Otherwise, what is your point?
You definitely are a bubble…….brain that is
I thought the Atenza was returning 😔
Better question: Why can’t US manufacturers make a car at this price?
High wages apparently 😢but tbh I say it’s greed bro
I don't even want a car with a digital speedometer let alone a car with a computer tablet.
A China-Japan partnership...never thought I'd see the day.
so Honda is merging with Nissan
What about the Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi merger?
Car Makers are building the Largest car parks in the World
Toyota spending Billions on EVs, but Scotty, I thought you said no one buys EVs. Huh?
Honda and Nissan will conglomerate
Forced marriage: it won't last long imo
SCOTTY, Trumps 100% TARIFFS will Kill it in the USA 🇺🇸 THANKFULLY! No More EV’s Here
Unless made in America
Build in in the u.s. No tarriffs!!!!!
Whether they're built here or China, EPA and safety regs will double the price.
Windmill:the front fell off...
"Electric vehicle." Whomp whomp..
Nothing Ford does scares me.
Sometimes Toyota does something stupid but thankfully they keep it to a minimum and they try to make it right when they pull a GM lol.
Not to mention the affect on the whales from the wind turbines
SCOTTY, Honda and Nissan are having talks of a merger.
Oh buying shares in laundry detergent 😅
All batteries are bulldozer, when they turn their toes up, toss the the money down the drain.
$20K, Mazda makes golf carts now???
I'd love a new Mazda 6 sedan with a V6 and manual transmission, even a non-CVT auto-transmission. I'll "Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!" all over the place in it. Sorry, no EV cars for me. The only place I need a battery-powered vehicle is at the golf course.
The crash regs are lower in China, they can't sell them in Europe/North America
The 323 original is the best. Saloon. 1.5GLX
What good does it do me here in the United States.
We just need to move to Drones. 😊
Look up Joby Aviation.
BYD has an EV bus plant in Lancaster, CA.
EVERY EV on the market is a scam.
And the cost with strump's tarrif😊
I have died, but don't worry, I will be back tomorrow.🤣
😂😂😂
Gas vehicles are only expensive because of govt. Mandates!
How about a cheap US conventional vehicle ?
Just join the UAW. Then you can afford one.
An awful lot of people crapping their pants on this website. 💩 They must have gotten into the Exlax again!
Diaper channel, for certain car brands...
Civic is still king
Couldn't care less if they were $200...and even if I was in the market for an EV, I sure as hell would not be supporting the Chinese economy...sticking with my Miata... Zoom Zoom 🤙
we never gonna se cars again for low price this is gonna cost 35 k!!!!!
Lol so it's a Chinese car but Mazda just slapped it's brand on it, sneaky
All electric still sucks get a hybrid Camry still. Or if you got money to burn get a crown signia
Mazda a new EV Galant ?? Had a Galant in the 80s nice car , base model.
not interested in EV
Review your Engines!!!
scotty is bitter that his generation ruined everything
Hail mein Elon?
The cheap China EVs tend to not have all of the features they think the US buyers want.
Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi merging .
China?...EV?....Pass...=))
There is news that Honda and Nissan are talking about merging
Nissan Can make the Trucks for them both but let Honda do the Cars! As Nissan still has a V-8🤔
Poor Honda.
