Everyone loves this movie, and they should, but everyone seems to forget the complexity of the story. I mean, Batman taking the blame and tarnishing his name in order to preserve Harvey's so that not only will hundreds of mob criminals be imprisoned because of his martyrdom after his attempt to incarcerate them all instead of letting them go because it turned out Harvey was a murderer too, as well as symbolically preserve hope in Gotham? That's some deep shit. I can't name a single superhero movie plot that has come close to being that good. Seriously, this movie is in a league of its own. Even comic nerds don't understand just how profound it is
I know! That's what I've been trying to tell people. If you replaced all the super hero stuff with normal things I'm sure this would've at least been nominated for an Oscar. But because it has batman it didn't.

You're forgetting how nothing in this movie makes any sense. How the hell did the Joker get those bombs on the boats with no one noticing until they left port? How did he time the other bombs so precisely so that Batman could only save one person? How did he get the OTHER other bombs in the hospital with no one noticing? And most importantly, why didn't they blame the Joker for the crimes that Two-Face committed? And Bane is kinda right in the next movie about how unjust Dent's actions really were.

Yeah, no, I meant at the end, where they went "Are we just gonna pretend those guys never happened?" and there's a bunch of old Batman villians sitting at the table behind them, Two-Face is sitting there. But Two-Face *was* in The Dark Knight, because Harvey Dent was Two-Face.

As for the whole "pretend those guys didnt happen" thing. Penguin doesn't deserve to be tide to that. Danny Devito as Penguin was good. Epic even. I don't know why they would include him. The original first 2 batmans were good movies. Hell number 3 wasn't that bad...but it was worse.. and it only got worse with the next one.

I rewatched this movie again and the first time I watched it I did not really notice how the actors played their role. When I rewatched Dark Knight last night(really, rhymes? Coincidence or not?), I was amazed by how Ledger and Bale played their role. Ledger is named the best Joker and he deserves it, superb acting! Ledger was really like a mental, crazy serial killer that just got out of an asylum and killed bunch of people. Bale is named the best Batman and he deserves as well. How he acts and portrays Batman. This movie is so good

I know it predates man of steel. But that's why his line is funny as opposed to hypocritical
