Super stoked for the tech marine. Even if it was garbage in stats, that model is nice. The healing to vehicles will be a cute pairing with my new Knight lmao
Kind of Ironic that the relic forge bolter that Iron Father Feirros has is somewhat worse than the normal version. Like an extra Ap and extra 12 in. range is nice but for gaining the heavy type is pretty bad.
I disagree. He's rerolling 1's and AP -3 and no movement penalty on the first round of combat (He'll probably not be a core unit like other characters so the Calculated Fury doctrine makes him even more of a solid choice than characters with non heavy weapons.). That's some pretty solid damage output for a tech marine.
Yeah you're right, the issue is that its only for turn 1. Though the trade of for other turns is meh especially for being named war gear. I would say it's only a tad bit than the normal version. Though I don't care too much as I don't play Iron hands, just something I noticed.
@@alexe.6359 Don't forget he also provides invulnerable saves to Infantry units within 3". Him, a unit of heavy intercessors, supported by a dreadnaught that has the ability to give Reroll 1's aura at the cost of a stratagem is a solid choice for Iron Hands.....until GW nerfs them again😓
@@alexe.6359 Oh right ! I don't why I keep assuming it's 3" instead of 6". Just think how frustrating it would have been if they kept the 5+++ warlord trait for the chief apothecary when using fielding Iron Hands. A true " How to have no friends" army.😅
I just wish they'd do more primaris releases like this in the vain of updating the old space-marine range, rather than all these really bizarre flavour of the month gravis alternatives and janky looking vehicles. Neophytes and Terminators is all I really want atm, also primaris phobos and taticus to transport at 2 slots, and for mini-marines to just count as phobos armor, the infiltrator kit is basically old-school marines (had they any heavy weapons instead of special rules). If I wanted to sidestep I wouldn't mind some sort of update on servitors (bigger squad size and new models), maybe even serf support characters and drivers.
omfg so much this. They introduced all these weird in between marine units to avoid ''replacing'' the old ones (while the primaris range was launched to do just that) and now people are torn between the newer flashier and often times OP new units that still can't do the same things the old ones did. Shit's wack
I may not have that Primaris Techmarine but the Iron hands Malkaan Feirros will be converted to serve the Ultras as their Techmarine Primaris for my army.
He is simultaneously worse and better than a Techpriest Dominus. It's weird. Then he can be upgraded to master of the Forge, but again is still better and worse and now more costly. The pricing and abilities of this guy make me sad for what's about to happen to our Dominus. I pray that he won't return to his launch price of 150pts.
I hope sense he has a grav pistol Primaris will get more grav weapons. I like them in game as well for lore for my homebrew chapter that like to use grav weapons
Is it worth taking a squad of servitors with him as well? I think they abide by the rule of not taking up a slot when accompanying a primaris techmarine in the same way as the regular techmarine?
I wish Craftworld HQs are also as useful as these guys. Like any Phoenix Lord is just objectively worse than having an Autarch for the purposes of being useful for your army.
Ah yes the BETTER techpriest, one has to wonder why the admech is even around when the primaris they themself made have already surpassed their masters
But he is worse as well. No self heal, no invul, no captain rerolls, technically worse ranged ability (we have a 2 guns at 24" and 2 at 18") and both can always be fired unless you take the shitty pistol, or advance, and why would you advance?
@@klassensj2 The self heal is a relic choice and why even bring up the captain rerolls when that's a completely different "type" of HQ, and being able to shoot twice with his bolter due to its ability is nothing to scoff at either it is after all a S5 AP1 gun with flat 2 damage and 3 shots(and AP2 while in Tactical doctrine), he has a straight up better statline, and he can heal for flat 3 if he is a forgefather(something which none of the Techpriest are capable of to my knowledge), his omnissian axe is also +2 instead of +1 for some reason despite already having a stronger statline, similarly his Mechadendrite is +1 to strength instead of just user strength, I don't see how he is particularly weaker in any way.
Unfortunately, he can't as he can only use his abilities on vehicles. Absolute shame, since, I'd love to buff the leman russ with something like this as well.
Pretty decent all around. Increasing bs from 3 to 2. Being a small character is also nice to save himself. Meanwhile Astra Militarum pays 125 for a large easy to kill vehicle with 1 heavy bolter on it that does the same thing. Usually increasing BS from 4 to 3. XD
Honestly - techmarines were always in sort of a weird spot. In theory, a toolbox kind of unit that can do a bit of everything, especially vehicle related, but all the stuff that it can do is generally highly situational - making them hard to justify when you consider that they hog a valuable spot. The vehicle heal is nice, but the thing is highly situational. Because most dangerous vehicles tend to be focused hard anyway and downed in single turns, giving vehicle repairing units very limited opportunities to actually be useful - so they are not that great at actually keeping vehicles alive per se. The usefulness of the repair comes more from the ability to put the vehicle out of bracketed state, but this is also a massive bulk of RNG - a target must be in proper health range and you also have to roll well on repair. The +1 to hit might be nice in mitigating brackets on some units, however.
The light heavy Bolter is finally here
:D
Like Orks, if we believe the meme, it becomes real
Starbucks Grande Bolter
The jumbo shrimp of bolter weapons.
But what about the heavy light bolter?
Your no-nonsense straight to the point presentation is really apreciated my dude, very very good work.
Have my primaris techmarine ordered, can’t wait to get my hands on him, I really like the model
every time i use awakene the machine spirit im gonna shout:
"awakened my master!!" then turn on the pillar men music
Chaos marine: “And your next line will be: Praise the omnissiah!”
Techmarine: “Praise the Omnissiah!”
Techmarine: *gasps in binary*
Such a chad move

Definitely adding one for my IF successor chapter.
Pretty solid for how much it costs. Ordered 2 yesterday for my iron hands dread army.
The flesh is weak, brother!!!
I did the same🤣
May get one to test with a pair of Furioso Dreads and a Librarian Dread.
Looking forward to using them.
Did you see they raised the price of the Hammerfall bunker thingy
In what way?
@@auspextactics I remember seeing it for $40 and I thought it looked like a good deal. But today I went to preorder it and it was $60

everybody gangsta til the techmarine starts rubbing oil on the tanks

I'm going to get this guy just to put a bunch of Iron Priest bits on him, probably not going to use him, but he looks cool
He'll most likely find a place in my vehicle heavy list..
Not bad character for supp dreads
So is this guy the Space Wolves' Iron Priest?

Looks tuff all I need is a tank for him to repair Lol
Mood. I was disappointed that he didn't have Gravis Armour, but not being gated to MBTs and Dreads does make certain units more enticing.
The repulsor executioner isn't worth the points anymore, I would either wait for the new gladiator tanks or just use dreadnoughts
