Thats a stretch. Cowboy Bebop's animation and choreography had a clear direction and purpose. This was "backflip man", he has the super power of doing backflips in the head of his enemys and defeat them that way 🤌 Really guys, last century best anime and it has to come to this. There is no comparison in animation styles.
For anyone else curious, the song used in this video is “LesAlpx” by Floating Points; his 2019 album ‘Crush’ is one of my absolute favorites-must hear!

@@kightboi First episode of Uzumaki is very well made (with the exception of some pacing issues), but episode 2 is extremely bad. 3 is better than 2, but not as good as 1. Even if 4 ends up being good, it doesn't change the fact that 4 episodes absolutely isn't long enough to properly adapt Uzumaki.

God, Watanabe's direction and storyboarding has such a nice flow. It has at the same time a rhythm and a sense of space, and usually in anime one of these is missing. So good to see him back.
Storyboarding animes is frequently handled by all the senior animators. I don't think you can chalk every movement up to him. I always caution people against big name creator worship. Though I do think he's exceptional

It was too over the top, the guy also toppled down from the kick on his hand and the pistol. It wasn't beautiful as it lacked any kind of realistic impact to it.
If it is anywhere near as close to good as these, we are in for a treat. This is the first Mappa show since Terror in Resonance that was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. Hope it turns out well!
What I like about The fight choreography at 0:20 is how seamlessly they infused parkour into Combat. Usually in Anime or Movies they'll just randomly throw in a trick flip for "cool" points and it just looks cheesy. Shinichiro Watanabe's works always seem to have great fight scenes that are fluid, Stylish, and practical. Not just random willy nilly stuff but actual martial arts moves.
I hate most anime action scenes due to this. Flash over substance. I agree with you about Watanabe's works in fight choreography. I think watching The Legend of Korra and Castlevania fights really spoiled me. Blue Eyed Samurai also seems to have some good fight choreography too.

I know this anime gonna be underrated asf and kept under the radar then brought up years later saying how much of a gem it wwas. Calling it before the show even comes out.
I’m hoping the trailer just doesn’t do this anime justice. Visually, it does not look impressive by any means. It may have a good story but its characters and setting are very lacking. It also has one of the slowest frame rates I’ve ever seen in an anime, which is pretty jarring to see, nowadays.

He seems to have more of a cinematic direction and blends Western styles as well. He also uses music well in his scenes.
