Ahahaha yes he does rub it alot! Oh yeah we niggle often...married life! We had one big one after an 8 hour travel day in the car. Problem was we had nowhere to go so I had to turn my back to him and look out the window 🤣🤣🤣
Loving these mid week,episodes. It’s great to hear the back story behind your adventures. Very inspirational how you’ve overcome these challenges and issues. This video should be mandatory watching for anyone about head off on a lap.

Thanks Brett. Glad you are enjoying the content! The gear box gave us somenissues. Ended up putting in a transmission cooler and fixing a solenoid.

Hi Lloyd, sorry to hear that. It's really difficult when things go wrong on the road but hopefully once you are all sorted you will be able to experience and enjoy your travels. You are definitely not alone. Have abgreat week, hope all is sorted.
Insure, insure and insure, we did a motor in NSW, 3 months tug of the road. Including hire car ,tows and new motor @ $22k our out of pocket was less than $400. The Australian Automobile Association is fantastic ie, NRMA, RAC, RACQ, RAA etc. and they cared.
Wow! Thatbis a massive amount of $$$ thanknheavens you were insured. Yeah I couldn't travel without it. You don't need it until you do! Glad to jear it was a good outcome for tou and didn't cost you too much. Must have been a challenge to sort it all-out!

I would add the bogging at Blackiron Hipcamp in Queensland 😂 I don’t think the RACQ could’ve or would’ve helped there (I think some only recover you from gazetted roads). You guys managed that and the other challenges with grace. Great episode! Cheers.

Great video guys, we are on the road full time from oct 2020. Done 2 half laps of Australia. Towing with a 27 year old Landcruiser, couple of miner issues but keep the maintenance up is the key.

@@suelandolt6840 no inst just FB. We started travel in Oct 2020 after first lockdown in Melbourne. 6 month work and 6 month travel a year has worked out great so far.

Hi Deryck and Sue, we are about to take off in our van for about 15 months after selling our home and unfortunately the building of our new home is now not getting started until 2024. What else is there to do but see this beautiful country of ours you have both given us a lot of help with your tips and I am definitely following your travels now. Stay safe and travel well guys❤️

Great Advice Elaine. Likewise but I'm the Builder. LOL between rain Council and architect it's taken 7 months to process. In the meantime I just bought a second new caravan and I am not waiting for anyone. See you on the road. LOL

Guys, great vids you provide us. Just thought I’d give you a heads up on a great misting fan for relief in the heat. Ryobi manufacture a fan that works either from a bucket or hose & tap. $159 quite reasonable given what it provides in the heat. Check it out & if your a/c ever fails again, you have a fall back option. Cheers.

All the old sayings come to mind, roll with the punches, adapt and overcome, just to name a few . I bet I’ll be checking out or road side coverage ASAP. Hoping your travels start to smooth out a bit (lot) and praying that ours is smoother, we start our adventures in late March early April 🤞👁👁😄😄🐕🦺👍👍🍺❤️🇦🇺
That’s it. It’s not always blue ski and sunshine but it definitely outweighs the normal life 😁

We were heading home after a camp stay and found ourselves sitting on the side of the highway in busy wheat harvesting time , not in the best location either as we were near a bend in the road, trucks every few mins passing us cos the Ford went into limp mode with a water / fuel issue that I couldn't clear the codes with my scan tool 😞😞😞We had 1 bar services on the fone and had to make a few calls to the RAC, we have full roadside assist ( WA ) cos of service drop outs 😢, waited 3 hours for a tow truck to take us and the van to the next serviceable town, you just don't forget those moments 😳😳😳

Thanksnfornsharing your experience ! Agree if you are on the road you eventually experience this kind of situation. Must have been terrifying being stuck in a bend with wheat trucks! Happy you got out safely and hopefully it was both your and our only experience of being stuck waiting for road side assist in a bad location!

Hey guys, another great episode. We've been with racq for nearly 30 years but have been told they won't cover us as ftt unless we have an address to return to every year. Did they know you were ftt when you signed up?
Yeah they did but we return to Qld once or twice a year so haven't had any issues.

Had a little chuckle about your awning because the exact same thing happened to us, ended up getting a new and different style awning. After that my wife nagged me every time I put the awning out, is it tied down properly 😅

My husband wants to know what happened to the Ford Ranger?
We cooked the gear box! Then decided to get the cruiser as it more of tractor 🤣 easier and cheaper to fix!
Husband is semi retired Ford mechanic we have a Ranger has over 205,000 klms we haven’t had any problems he loves his Ranger. ( I find it uncomfortable) lucky he’s not reading this😂we love your videos
The gearbox over heated
What was actually wrong with the ranger, I have a ranger myself, get a heads up on what to expect
Husbands a Ford Mechanic he’s says do your maintenance and you will be fine , he has a Ranger also 205,000 klms and never had a problem, he also said tow in sports mode
@@leannestengert4829 i am towing 3.5 tons off-road van a few people keep saying upgrade intercooler and get larger transmission coolers, I though may be the issue was in this area, I am still investigating whether to do that?? Especially with heavy van and hot weather

This pandemic has been the biggest Swindle of a general Australian public in the history of Australian federation. And no one has been arrested or sent to jail yet. When will all these traitors be held to account.
I am sick of UA-camrs only showing blue skys and no wind. We have been on the road for 1.5 years, follow optimal seasons and weather is not always great. Wind is surprisingly annoying and common in SA,WA,TAS. Then heaps of rain in the other states.
100% agree. You can't escape weather even when you try to follow the seasons. We are currently being hammered by wind in SA! Our first 2 years were spent freezing in the south and have nearly melted in the NT and Nth Qld but it is still worth the experience!
